I really enjoyed this place! The outside looks ordinary but the inside is very cozy and relaxing and much bigger than I expected. I've had a chance to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and I've been satisfied with all three. For breakfast I've had the berry good waffle, definitely very good. Also highly recommend the shrimp tacos! They were delicious and I wouldn't mind getting them again. I had the ribeye tacos for dinner once I think. We've been coming to Belle Chasse lately and we haven't really found a regular place to eat. I was tired of fast food so I wanted to try this place out. The inside is so welcoming and clean. The decor is really pretty! I ordered the Chilaquiles with green sauce and I added grilled chicken (it's a huge plate, I didn't expect it to be but luckily I was really hungry). Such a cute little cafe dressed in pink but definitely decorated for all tastes. They have a full service bar and I really loved their margaritas. Weekday lunch at probably one of the most bizarre-menu places thus far for us. You can order off both sides of the menu, which means lunch might be a po-boy, or it might be eggs. There also seemed to be a heavy Hispanic influence on the food, which is fine but wasn't expecting it from the name of the restaurant. Alejandra was our server and she was very nice, very quick and very busy! Lots of locals eating, and steady stream of customers. Quick check out when we were ready. I ordered the Healthy Omelette, which comes with 2 sides. I asked if they could both be a side salad, was told yes, and when it came out, it was on one plate - a dinner plate! - it was that big. Alejandra put their homemade dressing on the side for me, in case I didn't like it - but I did. :) Husband's Berry Waffle with Fried Chicken was yummy! I have never had a red velvet waffle before, so we abandoned my omelette, which was loaded in flavor, to finish his meal while it was fresh. (Both meals could have been split, they were so large.) Again, so f-n delicious. I didn't want to stop eating the tots but I was so full. And these tots are CRUNCHY and so delicious with the bacon and cheese. We decided to try this restaurant. It was okay. I ordered the red velvet waffle with fried chicken but opted for the regular waffle instead. It was pretty good. The waffle and the chicken could have been crispier. My husband ordered the Chorizo Hash. Everything in the bowl was soft and mushy so no crunch and that was a disappointment. The service was okay. First time here and finally decided on the chicken wrap with a side of French fries . Waited about 20 minutes and looked around to see if our food was coming. All we saw was all the waitress sitting down eating. When we were observed looking in the direction of the kitchen our waitress informed us that there was only one cook in the kitchen. The service staff bend over backwards to make your experience great even if the restaurant is packed. Decided to check this place out as my daughter headed back to school on a Saturday morning. First off the remodel on the inside is awesome it gave off a nice modern feel but still had that diner warmth. Had to remind my daughter what was there before. The server was very nice and was on top of everything. As you sit down you get a nice a flaky biscuit to look thru the menu. We settled on the Chorizohash bowl which was excellent and even picked one up for my daughter that was at home. My daughter and I went here today to try out somewhere new since moving to Louisiana and it was just terrible. We got seated very quickly and put in the corner (no big deal) and got our drinks a few minutes after ordering them and then ordered our food and that's where the problem started. We ordered our food and waited, and waited, and waited.... And waited some more our food never came out after almost 45 minutes of waiting. I was told by a couple of the staff that our food would be out soon, but yet somehow people that sat after us got their food before us?! Multiple tables got their food before we did. I couldn't wait anymore with a hungry child, I asked for the check (since I got a coffee) and they said not to worry about since we never got our food as we were leaving a staff member stopped us and asked if I wanted it to go... I just said no because if I did I might as well sat back down there and continued to wait. We didn't order anything crazy either my daughter wanted the "very berry waffles" and I ordered the "belle Chasse breakfast" The inside is a cute little place and very kid friendly with games and TVs with kids shows on it and window to draw on. Maria's has the BEST red beans and rice on the Westbank, maybe even in New Orleans. I've been going to this restaurant every month for over a decade. Always good. And the owners are fabulous! Get the fried chicken with the red beans. And I like to add a little spicy Asian sauce. The menu includes Cajun, Asian, Mexican, and American dishes. Classic plate lunch place! Bridge out was closed so couldn't leave the area for about an hour and wanted brunch. Man was I lucky , because other wise I would have missed this gem. They serve lunch and breakfast with a lean towards Mexican foods like chorizo and beans for breakfast, which I'm here for! Service was great! Server kept my water filled without being intrusive, which is important to me as I drink a lot of water and know I can irrationally annoyed if my cup runs out. They were also very nice about explaining the menu and accommodating to swapping things on the menu(I got their sweet bacon waffle instead of red velvet). Small but clean bathrooms, 2 unisex bathrooms. Unfortunately doesn't t look like there's room for a changing table, so understandable not having it. Vibe feels like a cleaned up dinner with family friendly music that was modern, but not too loud. Feel like a great family run business. One slight suggestion would be that the syrup for my waffle came on the side. It was delicious but I ate kind of slow and the waffle got soggy and mushy by the end.
