Terrible experience. My wife had a rock damage her tire on the way to work. I brought the tire up to belle tire @ 920 AM. They said they couldn't fix had to replace. Fine. Said appt was @10:30 would be done by 1130. I waited till noon checked in and the tire was still sitting in the lobby untouched. Told them I was frustrated left and went to work not knowing when it would be done. Was at work for 10 mins and got a message tire was done. 4 hours to get a tire replaced that was already off the car. If they couldn't do it fine, I'd have gone somewhere else. If they knew it was gonna take 4 hours fine, I'd have gone somewhere else. Never again. Done with belle tire. read more

Went on the website, ordered my tires (it said they were in stock) set up an appointment for two days later. went into the shop and my scheduled time and checked in. waited for an hour. A guy called my name and said oh, we only have four of those tires. Do you want us to put three on? No, I do not want you to put thtee tires on my four wheel drive vehicle. Why not just put one brake pad on, or change 5 spark plugs. He just said sorry, I don't check you in, we will bring your vehicle around. Never again. on vacation in a pinch Belle Tire saved the trip!! i remted a car from Thrifty & they basically told me to piss up a rope when I told them their tire was losing pressure. I took it to Belle Tire and in 20 minutes I was back on vacation. Super service & customer service. they ended up being pretty busy after I got there & the agents all congenial & customers seemed pretty happy. PLUS IT WAS FREE! We found a lug nut in our tire at 5:30 on a Saturday night after driving 2 1/2 hours from Grand Rapids. Tire pressure was at 23. We arrived at 5:45 (closing time was 6) and Doug helped us. I have no idea what we would have done without their help. The guys tried to fix it but the hole was too large and close to the edge. They had the right size tire in stock and even helped us out with a coupon. Vacation saved, could not recommend them enough. So very grateful. read more

Never ever again. Take my truck in to get an alignment.... They tell me that they can't align it because it needs new ball joints. I had them bring my truck back out. Took the OLD BALL JOINTS I HAD JUST REPLACED AND SLAMMED THEN ON THE COUNTER and left... The reason for the alignment was the fact i just replaced the vall joints.. IM A MECHANIC........ Obscene prices for services. Definitely worth shopping around or doing just a bit of research before spending $130 to have two air filters installed that cost $12.99 each at any of the regular auto parts stores and take only about 10 minutes to install. The problem is that such pricing constitutes a kind of taking advantage of the customer. As a customer I can be extremely loyal to businesses that present a good value but not if I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I suggest calling to get an idea of prices for services and then call around for comparisons. The time spent calling may be well worth the difference! read more

I got a screw in my tire while on vacation in a remote area that was a half hour from Traverse City. Crossed my fingers that I'd make it there! Honda dealer wouldn't help. Went to Costco and was told I had to buy four new tires. Then I realized I didn't have my lug nut key. They couldn't help. I called Belle Tire. Scott said he thought he could help and to bring it in. (A half hour from closing) Scott and Austin and their crew saved the day! They were able to fix my tire and get me back on the road! Vacation saved! No new tire expenses! Great service! It is hard to convey how much I appreciate that they helped me, with no appointment on an obviously trying day for staff. We were heading up to TC when the snowy roads made it quite clear that new tires were necessary! Although this was an unexpected expense...what could we do? So I called ahead making an appointment thinking that would expedite the whole process. The staff were pleasant but 1/2 hr later our vehicle still hadn't move from the parking spot. After asking about it the car was taken into the shop, where it took another 1/2 hr before the guys started working on the tires. It only took a few minutes after that to get new tires on, and almost 700.00 later we were back on the road. Guess I expected prompt service especially with the expense. read more

I heard an intermittent grinding noise when I would come to a stop. I took the vehicle into Belle Tire for a free brake inspection. I was shocked to hear that the front pads were worn and unsafe. Said that the back pads were completely worn to nothing and into the rotors. Also said that my calipers were completely locked up, which is what was causing the grinding sound. They needed to replace everything mentioned above to the tune of $1589.09. The next morning, I took the vehicle to a place that specializes in brakes. I was told and showed the front pads while still on and they had over 60% of wear left. Then he showed me the back and I did need new pads and rotars. The calipers were not locked and still would be effective. His quote came back at $503.00. The other Brake shop I took it to had the same results as the previous with a quote of $525. Therefore; I am writing this review in disgust of how I was going to be taken advantage of from Belle Tire in Traverse City, Mi. Total RIPPOFF place, as far as my experience with the brake inspection! read more

I had a good experience at this location. They were busy so I had about a two hour wait even with an appointment. Seemed very safe during this current pandemic. Final tire pressure was kind of inconsistent. That's okay I can adjust it. Professional but some attendants seemed too busy but I get it is there rush time of year. Traveled to Traverse City from Petoskey, tended to my business, then found that the car would not start. It was a holiday weekend and we were told that the dealer (Ford) was open, so we got a jump start and headed to the dealership. We were in the area for the weekend when we developed a slow leak in one of our truck tires. We called ahead, were told to just stop in and they would take a look. When we arrived they advised there were a few ahead of us, but that they should have us in and out in an hour. True to their word, we were on our way in less than an hour and weren't charged. I've used Belle Tire twice for tire service between the Winter of '09 and Spring of '10. On both occasions I received lackluster service all around. My first visit around November took them over 6 hours to install Winter tires to my car. After they finished the work, no one called me or let me know that it was done and it was up to me to figure out when they had it ready to go. Their incompetence really killed my Saturday. Again in March I visited them for Winter tire removal. Because Belle Tire does not work on an appointment basis (first come, first served), I was turned away 4 times before they could finally take my business. On all four occasions I arrived between 1 and 2 pm and they always claimed to be backed up until the next day. Finally, after much hassle, I was able to get serviced. This time it took about 3 hours and again, I was not called to be notified of their completion. After I picked up my car, one of the hub caps fell off because it had been improperly installed. When I returned to have it fixed, I had to deal with an extremely profane mechanic. When I asked him about the price of new hub caps he implied that the cost would "stick a **** in my *** without lube" and that is an exact quote. I did not appreciate his language nor implications and I again received bad service. I do not recommend using this service in the future, and Belle Tire has lost my business until they acquire new management. There are plenty of other decent tire stores in Traverse City that are just average and would provide you better service than this garbage pit. I would have given them one star, but they are slightly redeemed by offering reasonable prices and a 10% discount to Wares Auto customers (where I bought my car). Still, I don't regard these price benefits as enough incentive to return my business there, even if that means paying more at a competitor. read more

You don't want to waste your time here. My husband already wasted several hours of his. And then my father had to waste more time to get the tire fixed again (but at Discount) that they didn't really fix before. We borrowed my dad's car for a couple of days and noticed a tire was pretty low. Brought it in and they "fixed" a bead leak. Like the other reviewer, they never told my hubs that the car was complete, and he sat there for a couple of hours, wasting his time. They actually LAUGHED when he asked if it was done. WTH you call that customer service? The following week my dad had his car back and noticed it was low again - took it to Discount Tire just down the road since he didn't want to waste his time at Belle and the stupid thing had a nail in it, which was certainly there when Belle "fixed" it before. read more

AVOID this place at all costs! If a negative star rating was allowed this place would get -5! I was referred to this shop to fix a flat tire on a rental car while on vacation 4 hours from home. Without a doubt the worst customer service I have ever had ANYwhere... In my entire life! The service team is the textbook definition of passive-aggressive. I was as polite as possible when I dropped off a tire in the morning to be repaired by the end of the day. Joe Gremer asked me to leave a $500 rim and tire against a pole outside and said to call at 5:00 to see if it was done. So just leave it with zero proof that it was ever there and drive away? I unloaded the tire myself (since nobody offered to grab it). My hands were black after I handled the tire so I went back in to wash my hands in the bathroom. No soap in the dispenser and no paper towel on the roll. When I politely asked if they had anything to wash my hands a different guy gave me Clorox wipes from a container! My 8 year old son looked at me like what is going on!? Clorox wipes for hands? The same guy went to the back to find paper towel and then went into the bathroom where he laid the new roll on the floor a few feet from the toilet! Seriously disgusting. I couldn't bring myself to leave without them having at least my phone number since I was only on vacation for the rest of that afternoon. The guy I asked reluctantly wrote down my name and number but clearly didn't want to. When we got back in the car I had to explain to my young son that sometimes you have to deal with rude people and there is nothing you can do about it. Since I was driving by, I called at 3:30 to ask if it there was any chance it was done. I got only a rude "No" from someone named Todd. He told me I should come in at 5 and that they would Possibly get it done but "made no guarantees". Basically they were unlikely to do it unless I was waiting in lobby so they had good reason to do it. Keep in mind I was 4 hours from home on vacation and just trying to go home before Thanksgiving Day. I asked Todd, "if I show up there at 5:55 before you close at 6:00, do you think that it would be done?". The response I got was mind blowing... "Sir, I made a suggestion, you can do whatever you want, please hold". Todd never came back to the phone. I turned to my wife and said well, I don't think our tire is getting done. I showed up at 5:50 and someone asked how they could help me. I said I was there to pickup a tire that was being repaired for my rental car. He flicked through a box of paperwork (which obviously there was none) and then turned to the same Joe and asked if he knew anything about a repair for Enterprise. Joe said "yeah but it there is no vehicle to put it on... and I didn't do any paper work. It's a loose tire out there somewhere" as he pointed to the parking lot. So it's done? It's all set sir. Gee thanks have a great Thanksgiving. I'll go browse your dark wet parking lot and hopefully find it. I did and I left. My suggestion to anyone reading this is to avoid a miserable experience and go somewhere else... ANYwhere else! read more

I drive a lot. Therefore I need my oil changed every 2-3 weeks. I gave this location 3 tries. 3! The last 2, I made my appointment in the earliest slot available. Both of these times, I waited over an hour and a half for an oil change. For an oil change! They take walk ins ahead of appointments every time. It's a shame too. Awful experience with the staff at this location. They failed to put my keys back in my car for it to be picked up after hours after I confirmed with them twice that they could do so. I had no way to get back to my house (an hour away). When I came back to complain about the situation the next morning, they were more concerned about who I'd spoken to prior (and of course I hadn't asked for their names), and that they "just didn't know the situation," which I'd fully explained to them. Also tried to confirm that my specialty sensors were left on, to which they replied "I don't know." I felt that the staff member I spoke to was just satisfied they got my money and were ready for me to stop talking and leave. read more

TERRIBLE experience. I brought my truck in for a tire rotation. It was moved from the parking spot I left it in to behind the store in a non-designated parking spot. The other dealerships/shops were only open until 3 or 4. Belle tire is open until 5 on Saturday. The customer service was awesome but it took two hours before my car actually made it in the garage.

I had called the night before about a set of trailer tires and talked to George. Got them matched up with new tire numbers ( I.E. size ,width,rim size) due to mine being old and outdated in the way they were numbered. Quoted $83.00 out the door. They didn't want to give me a appointment due to and I quote," If I give you a time and we can't get to them at that time I am now a liar". Told just to bring them in and they will get to them. So I showed up at 8 :30 and put the tires in the back by one of the doors like I was asked to. Told they would call me when they were finished. I just parked in the lot due to a long drive home and did not want to make 2 trips. After 2- 2 1/2 hours they still had not been touched as I watched 10 to 15 cars go in and out of the garages getting serviced. I went inside and told the man at the counter I would just take the tires and get them mounted elsewhere after watching workers walk by them . Matt stepped up and said he would handle them immediately himself. Told me the workers probably thought they were just throw away tires and rims. As I paid for them I was informed that the price was $83.00 out the door per tire. I realized that the original price was a touch low, but when it is less than other places I jumped on what I thought was a great deal. Matt gets 5 stars as he stepped up and got my tires done. George gets 2 only for the fact he never mentioned that price was per tire. The guys working there. They might be good at their jobs , but they need to start paying attention I will say that the price at payment was a shock and not much one can do about it. The price is the price. read more

Worst customers service ever. Sales man at counter is very rude and make us feel like we are there to bother them. We are bringing business to you and you make us feel so bad. Spend about $1000 a couple weeks ago, got new tires and new break job. Noticed that the tire pressure indicator was on, ask the sales man but they said that light will disappear after driving 5 miles but never did. Toke car in to check tire pressure light again.
