Again they could of gave me an outrageous quote since half the job was done but once again I was given a very reasonable number. Communication was great by phone, text and email. The guys who came out to do the work were very friendly and professional. The job got done in a reasonable amount of time and the pool looks fantastic. The company was know as Walker pools previously but now called Affordable so you can look up both to find them. If I ever need pool repairs again they will be the first ones I call. Mike came to my home and spent at least an hour and a half with me explaining the pool and the equipment and what we could do to get it to function optimally. Fred the owner of Salty Dog Pools sold us a pool finish with a 10 year warranty. They came twice to…read morespray as it rained during install and they ran into problems. Contractors he subcontracted left spill marks all over the bottom of the pool. Fred sent them back to fix and they dove to the bottom and used sand paper and a screw driver to fix the spots! You can imagine how that looked in the end. He asked for photos and then told us someone would come after July 5th to look at it. When he did not respond by the end of July I texted him and he told me he retired and to call Markos. Markos will not take my call and Fred will not answer the phone when I call. I see from prior reviews that Fred likes to sell a job but then a subcontracts it out and does not follow up on problems. We chose him specifically because he had all the proper licensing.

Thankfully, Elite Pool Designs put all of our fears to rest thanks to their amazing customer service, fair prices and excellent, high quality work. We previously had a koi pond in our backyard but, as the fish died out, realized we wanted something else back there instead. We reached out to Elite Pool and Cyndi and she came over the next day to assess our yard. As we had no idea where to start, she helped guide us through the whole process, connecting us with surveyors, tree removal experts and all of the other hidden things you don't think about when you decide "I want a pool". After the work to get the yard ready was done, we went to the Elite Pool offices to pick out the tile, lining and design of the pool. Cyndi walked us through the shape and features we wanted, and provided a very reasonable quote for everything, including, automation, a heater for the pool (hey it DOES sometime get cold here!) and a screen enclosure. Construction for the pool started in October 2024 and finished in late January 2025, and our hat goes off to Robert (owner of Elite Pool) for his help with managing the entire project. Crews arrived as needed and on time, and though there were some periods between steps where not a lot of work was being done, it was never unreasonable and given the holidays, totally fair. Inspection and electrical were simple and easy and now we are ready to enjoy our pool! We interviewed 6 pool installation companies, and the one that heard, listened, and created the most appropriate solution for us was Hollywood Pools and Spas. They built a pool and patio that have met our needs perfectly. We have a new pool within the shell of the old (35x15) pool, deep enough for vertical water aerobics (6'3" instead of 8') and an adequate size to accommodate whatever and whoever!! The Hydrazzo finish is beautifully smooth, and the Shellock pavers promise us many years of worry-free living. They need no sealing and complement the bronzy tones of the back of our house. A major concern for us was storm generated water coming in the back of our house and screened porch (slightly downhill from the pool). 4" drains liberally installed were the perfect solution to sending water to the side yards. We experienced no serious water-related problems from Hurricanes Debby, Helene or Milton. Yes, there were some hiccups, but all concerns were suitably resolved. Thank you Ron, Joe, Jessica, Chad, Tanner and all the related subcontractors. That was the year that was!! One of the most valuable parts of this process is the fact that the "salesman" you speak with initially is involved in the process all the way through to the end.

Our sales person (Dan Meyer) took the time to thoroughly explain every detail to us so we knew exactly what to expect. My husband and I are finance professionals and really take our time evaluating all options before making a decision. Dan was extremely patient with us through the process. We appreciated that the company provided an itemized breakdown of the costs for us so we knew exactly where every dollar spent was going towards. Dan also did a wonderful job creating a unique design for our pool/spa combo. Every other company that came out to give us quotes just drew a basic rectangle shaped pool, but Dan really put time and thought into his design and it showed! We also appreciated that Larsen's provided an all-in quote and would return funds if things weren't needed (like well points), compared to other companies that provided us lower quotes to "win the business", but then said there could be additional expenses. As finance professionals, we like to know exactly how much the project could cost and really appreciated this approach. Once construction began we worked with Jason and things moved quickly! We did have some weather delays, but that was to be expected. My husband is a bit of a perfectionist, so he was constantly checking on the detail of work being completed. If he wanted something changed or corrected, we just let Jason know and a crew was out to make it perfect for us, no questions asked.
