At the end of the day, it's just a really solid coffee shop and that's exactly why I keep coming back. I can always count on my drink tasting the way I like it. The ratio of espresso, milk, ice and syrup is perfect, which isn't something every coffee shop gets right. I totally understand why some people think it's overhyped, but if you go in expecting a great cup of coffee with fun vibes instead of some life-changing experience, I think you'll really enjoy it. I've also always had a great experience with the employees. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly, and even when the line is long, they have almost an assembly-line system that keeps things moving really quickly. I've tried the banana pudding, which was delicious, and their chocolate chip cookie was really good too. I love that they're always coming up with fun seasonal drinks and different flavor combinations to keep things interesting.

Their omelettes are cooked on a flat top. That makes for a flat, folded style omelette. It serves perfectly well for enveloping your choice of fixings. There is a RI twist to it, the choice of a chorizo omelette or chorizo served with eggs is a nod to our Portuguese neighbors/immigrants. Breakfast and coffee hit the spot. I also think the friendliness of the place had a lingering effect on me. Driving around and stopping at familiar places like 2nd Beach and Sachuest Point, the nostalgic ache came harder than I anticipated. Aquidneck Island is stunningly beautiful and it will always have a place in my heart.

This might be the most memorable meal in Newport. A very unique, authentic and delicious experience. Belle's Cafe is a snappy, unpretentious diner serving short order breakfast and lunch foods to a very high standard. That's appealing at any location, but this is ground zero for Newport's yachting scene. You're sure to see these amazing boats being hauled, polished, prepped and positioned for the day's action. It's interesting to sit by the water on a sunny morning and watch all this high-end hustle and bustle while enjoying a perfect bacon (crispy) and egg (over easy) sandwich with home fries (crispy with a few sautéed onions and peppers). For lunch, I can recommend the lobster rolls, which are the best this side of Maine, in my humble opinion. Price point is pretty reasonable ... +/- $12 for a meal based on my experience. read more

My wife particularly loved the Lox and bagel, noting that the generous portion of lox made it a great value. My BLT sandwich, while fresh, had a bit too much lettuce and overly crispy bacon. SUPER hard to find as it's inside an actual shipyard that you think you shouldn't be walking in. Finally park and find it. The wait was too long for just ok food I could have made myself. I'm thinking ok at least I can eat by the water so not all bad, right? Nope. Table was dirty from people before that nobody cleaned and the water really smelled which made me lose my appetite. Belle's is awesome. While the food is good, the atmosphere is even better. To get to Belle's you walk right through the shipyard along the water and find the restaurant tucked away along the docks. You order at the counter and then sit outside right at the edge of the water. The view is fantastic and the seating is very comfortable with picnic tables as well as lounge chairs/couches and Adirondacks. The food is fresh and made to order but by weary- if you come at a popular time be prepared to wait 30 minutes to an hour for your food. read more

Absolutely the worst breakfast spot in town. The experience started with the worst hostess I've ever encountered--arrogant, rude, and completely obnoxious. She seated people out of order, ignoring those who had been waiting. The service was painfully slow, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold and bland. After waiting in the hot sun we figured we would stay for a mimosa and try to salvage the time we just wasted. One of the few places to actually sit and eat on the water in Newport. I love the hustle and bustle of the working shipyard and the beautiful views of the yachts and the bridge. The food is top notch and the staff are very friendly. It feels like a community unto itself. read more
