The nitro bar is amazing!! Although there was a wait to get inside, it moved pretty quickly and was worth it. The inside was super cute with some seating areas. As a banana lover, the caramelized banana matcha was perfection. You could taste that the syrup was made with real bananas. Additionally; the staff were fantastic. The barista accidentally made my drink as a coffee, but kindly remade the matcha for me and let me keep the coffee. Great spot, wish we had this is Arizona!
This was my first time at Nitro Bar. It was great location on Lower Thames. It is popular so sometimes there is a line out the door. There was a line when we went but it went by quick so I did not mind. When we got inside, we were able to look at the paper menu to know what we wanted before we got to register to order. I got the Caramelized Banana Latte and my son got the Cookie Butter Latte with whipped on top. After we ordered you move to another line to receive drinks. They do have food but kitchen closes at 3pm and we were there after that time. The place is cute. The wall to the left is filled with tables and chairs. We were lucky one became available and we sat at table until drinks ready. We drank at the shop which both drinks were delicious. I enjoyed this place. Afterwards we did some shopping at the cute shops nearby. It was a great visit.
So, I heard through the grapevine that the Nitro Bar was one of the best spots to pick up a matcha + coffee from & I'm here to tell you that I had a pretty good experience! We came here after a great lunch nearby and ordered a *large caramelized banana matcha & a *large black raspberry matcha. Both were very tasty! I loved that though both flavors from the banana and raspberry were rather strong, neither were overpowering and you could still taste the matcha! They also whisk the matcha individually for each order of the drink, love that. Overall, I'd say it's worth the price & the trip to check them out! They have 3 locations total including this one on Thames St., another one in Newport RI on Pond Ave., & one in Providence! Looks like they have an ordering system online for all their locations too, which is great if you want to just skip the in person ordering process & just pick up when it's ready.
Place deserves all the hype it gets. Came by on a Sunday afternoon, staff super friendly and kind, able to provide suggestions for us. The coffee was great, my girlfriend absolutely loved it along with the whip! The brownie was delicious, big decadent of maple. Place was clean and inviting, definitely a cool spot to be in Newport! Loved the lightning and decor felt like a classy coffee spot. A must go to spot for your coffee needs!
Incredible! LOVE it here! I tried a couple of coffee places in Newport and this was my all time favorite. The line supports this! I got there right after they opened on a Friday morning. It was busy! 1/2 mile from my hotel. Some people drove but Newport is a walking city. I ordered the lavender latte with espresso and almond milk. Love that you can select nitro, espresso, or none plus the type of milk. The baked goods were beautiful! The chantilly cake with berries and flowers was gorgeous. The carrot cake looked delicious. Carrot cake is one of my favorite desserts. Hard to say no, but I left with drinks only. I was picking up drinks for my coworkers too. That's the real reason I didn't get some sweet treats. will be coming back next time I'm in Newport. The staff there is so kind! The vibe is great. So chill. Love love love it!
The Nitro Bar is an absolute 10/10 and worth all the insane Tik Tok hype it receives. This location (though small and often crowded much like some of their other spots), is definitely worth a visit whether you've travelled from afar to the beautiful coast of Newport or if you just happen to find yourself in the area. Their pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and of course their delicious coffees and matchas are perfect for a morning brunch or an afternoon pick me up and snack!! As I mentioned, their popularity and prime location often means they get busy, but the service has always been very fast and efficient without sacrificing quality. Their egg sandwiches are a must try and I personally love pairing it with one of their seasonal matchas which they flavor with their delicious house-made syrups!! I will say, they're drinks are pretty sweet and sometimes hides the flavor of the matcha itself. Additionally, the price is pretty steep, but I'd still say this spot is worth the splurge every once in a while and perfect for if you don't want a super strong drink or just something more unique and decadent. Overall, with the modern, clean, and upbeat vibes, this Rhode Island chain is one you absolutely cannot miss!
Love this small little coffee shop. Right next to my hotel this time around. They have so many beautiful pastries and their coffee is great too. I ordered a cappuccino and they didn't disappoint. Service was excellent. I was the only customer in the store at 7am but they treated me right and served me fast even though they were still setting up and not yet in the groove of the day. 5/5. As usual on the weekend, there was a line to get in but it did move pretty quick and one of the staff member was periodically coming out to hand out menus to people in line to make ordering go faster. The staff taking our order was very nice! We got maple sea salt lattes with whip, a chocolate chip cookie and carrot cake. It all was awesome. The special drinks at Nitro never miss and the maple sea salt lattes are no different. Also, add their whip to any of your drinks, we loved it! Cookie was fire and the carrot cake slice was to die for. Space inside isn't huge but they have 5-6 tables, we were able to get a seat and hang for a bit. I think it's worth the hype!

I maybe had the classic pizza bagel (on a plain bagel- you can choose) everyday for breakfast... it was so delicious, and wayyy more flavorful than the pizza bites you're thinking of. Their maple sea salt cold foam is AMAZING. It's super thick and feels like dessert. But my fav was the drink they are known for... the Carmalized Banana Latte. I was fully prepared to not like it. But NOPE! Had it everyday. Iced. Make sure you give it a good stir before trying! There isn't a ton of seating inside, only a few tables and a couple bar seats. Staff super friendly!
Good coffee! They had plenty of professional barista's making your coffee just as you desire. Right in the heart of downtown Newport on Thames Street. A great place to stop and get caffeinated as you stroll along the heart of Newport. There is not a lot of seating so you may wanna plan on taking your coffee to go.

It Hurt So Good: The day hath finally come! I could finally try The Nitro Bar. My husband and I previously saw the line prior to entry, and both realized that while we waited for our lunch reservations we could finagle and get our coffees. The trepidation was tremendous. I couldn't wait to finally try these seasonal beverages; all the hype on social media, I knew that it was gonna be worth it. When we finally got to the register, something overcame me. I couldn't just try one drink and my husband wasn't getting anything that I really wanted to try so I made some excuses about allowing my family members to try whatever I get and I ended up choosing the Cookie Whip latte, the Caramelized Banana Matcha latte, and the Red Velvet latte(original choice would have been the toasted coconut latte, but they ran out of the syrup because it was just too good.) In the refrigerator off to the side we noticed that they had chai puddings, banana pudding and overnight oats; so we thought to ourselves what the heck, let's grab a chocolate cherry chai pudding and a banana pudding. Both were good but the banana was something special. Then we heard my name called and we were able to sample the goods. That first sip of the Banana matcha latte, holy shit, my taste buds were elated. I nearly downed half it before realizing I had my other lattes to try. The Cookie Whip.....the hype is real my friend, it's crack. The sweetness yet not overpowering the coffee. The whip....by the time we rejoined my family while still waiting for lunch, the cookie whip had disappeared. I gave my mother the Red Velvet Whip. She tried it...then she tried the matcha and preferred that. I gave her the rest and tried the Red Velvet myself. It was good, the whip had a nice balance of cream cheese however the clear winners were the matcha and cookie whip (I should have known as I rarely go for the actual cupcake, that's on me). Yet I stilled sucked on that shit til that sound occurred again, air slipping through the straw indicating the last remnants. Mind you I'm a tea girlie....I rarely have coffee and I just downed two lattes and half a matcha. I knew my immediate future would be impacted....the reservation at Wally's Weiner's finally was called and I immediately sat down in a daze. I took a deep breath and knew I needed water. As someone who struggles with vasovagel syncope reactions (google it, it's a ride let me tell ya) I knew I couldn't let it get that far. Let's just say I hydrated and used every bathroom I encountered while in Newport. Wrecked my opportunity to enjoy my mother's birthday dinner at White Horse Tavern and prayed to the gods that I didn't go to panic town. So would I go back? Hell ya. Would I recommend all those drinks? Hell ya. However what I will remind my myself is to pace yourself baby. No need to go ham. I can come back. Thank you Nitro Bar for the intense detox, mommy felt a little bloated today. read more

Ventured to Newport with my gal pals to try this popular coffee spot, and was not disappointed. We waited in a long line formed outside in front of the store, however the line went quick and staff came outside and handed out a menu for one to look at before coming inside. Once at the counter, ordering was a breeze and staff were so friendly. Coffee and food came out quick, there's not much seating inside but we were able to grab a small table! When food and drinks were ready staff called out your name. EVERYTHING and I repeat EVERYTHING was soo good! That pizza bagel is chefs kiss. The hot honey, the meatball, the crispy bagel. I would come back for it all instantly! No wonder why this place is the go to spot! read more

We saw this place online and were really excited to try it out, but we were left wishing for more. The coffee was $10 and felt like primarily ice. The breakfast sandwich was good, but both pastries we got were dry. I'd rather get coffee elsewhere. read more

Me and my three girlfriends stopped in for a drink. We were in town for vacation and had to try the local hotspot. All three of my friends got coffee while I got a tea. It was just what I needed. Two of my friends got food and it looked so good. I loved that there was merch for sale as well as treats. The vibe was industrial as well as hip. Customer service was amazing since our food and drinks came out very quickly, even though they were very busy. Next time I am in town I will have to try something read more

I've been a fan of The Nitro Bar from the beginning when it was just a homemade cart peddling cold brew. These days the menu has expanded to include killer breakfast sandwiches, baked goods and a wide variety of beverage offerings. Last weekend, I got the Cookie Butter Latte on Saturday then went back on Sunday to get the Matcha version. Both were excellent! Don't skip the Whip! read more
So good we went twice in one day during our weekend trip to Newport. The coffee was absolutely delicious, my husband said it was the best nitro cold brew he's ever had and I have to agree. I ordered the breakfast bowl and it was healthy, filling and delicious. The strawberry cake was sooo yummy. A little pricey but I would much rather spend the couple extra dollars here than at Starbucks. We returned later the same day to try the strawberry matcha. Was NOT disappointed! read more

Highly recommend getting the Cacio y Pepe cream cheese on a bagel here! It was super flavorful and the bagel was toasted perfectly. The sesame bagel here had lots of sesame on it which I am not used to but enjoyed. I also ordered a cherry vanilla matcha which was decent, but I probably would not order again as I prefer the coffee drinks from The Nitro Bar. Tasted better as I drank more. The texture was a bit gritty to me but it was a nice color. I did like the cherry vanilla syrup! My friend ordered espresso with a splash of milk and maple sea salt syrup. It was not the best, however I have tried lattes from other nitro bar locations so not sure if it was just not enough milk for me or this location. read more

Came to Rhode Island just for this (wish I was joking) but this viral cafe lives up to the expectation! I thought their banana latte and matcha were wonderful! Even though since I live near the city and could possibly get something similar. I do live supporting small businesses and taking a road trip as well! The cashier/barista was super nice and helpful for recommendations of espresso or the cold brew added into the lattes. Very busy at 10/11am but as we walked past later it did seem to die down! Worth it!! Got there just before 10 on a Friday and there was a line, but it moved. One of the owners came out when we were near the front door and handed out menus (reg and specialty drinks) and thanked us for being patient. Ordered the caramel banana latte with almond milk and the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. Both were DELICIOUS! The cashier let me know it would be about 12 mins for the sandwich when I ordered. We were lucky and found a seat pretty quickly (even with our dog with us). Inside was clean and easy to move around. Nitro bar has a following for a reason! read more

Revisited again in the summer season. Food is absolutely 10/10 as always. Both the cooked food and pastries. Special drinks are lackluster. I was dying to try the blueberry latte and matcha lattes, as they look amazing on social media, but they truly lack flavor. My sister in law got the lavender latte and did not taste any lavender. chai latter was great. Drinks definitely look 10x better online. read more

This cafe was overall an amazing experience! The nitro cold brew was delicious with a great chocolatey flavor! The sourdough toasts were a great way to start the day because they tasted amazing and were not too heavy!! We were quickly served at the counter and decided to dine in! The seating was spacious and we were able to find a seat right away! Next time we are in the area this is going to be our go to cafe! read more

Local recommended coffee shop among the ones on Thames! She advised to expect long lines because they're the best & sure it was! Their space is cute modern chic, high ceilings, bright & salty... hehee such a Newport phrase it seems :P Definitely difficult to park, was a 1 minute walk from our hotel, so0o lucky. Got there around 10am and had to order as to-go since no tables, but the attendant said we could surely take a seat if someone leaves. Was eyeing the seasonal strawberry milk lattes but that limited edition has ended huhuu ordered food first & had to take a seat to sift the entire drink menu to decide & alas got the FRUITY LOOP drink! So0o freakinnn cuuuute & spot on taste, just like the cereal! Lalaaaved the English muffin buttered toast with berries & honey... and golly gosh, the monstrous portion of their mushroomie bowl is AHHHMAZING. I've heard about maitake & they made such a great first impression. I do taste a bit of truffle oil, maybe but thank goodness not too pungent & overwhelming, as some times it can be. Loads of nutrition in this bowl, with greens & eggs & onions. Reallllly lalaaved this healthy brekkie bowl! Had a lovely morning start here while in Newport! read more

Incredible local coffee shop you'll definitely want to stop at. Now I see why they're all over my FYP and it's not just cause they're funny as hell and good with social media marketing - the food and drinks actually slap. We visited twice on our trip and ordered some of their summer specials like the Strawberry Milk Latte and Orange Vanilla Latte. Soooo good!! House made syrups and unique flavor combos really make the difference when we're visiting local coffee shops. You need to make a stop here and skip the chain coffee spots around Newport, you don't regret it. read more
