I absolutely LOVE Belleville Animal Clinic! Dr. Linton is AMAZING with my difficult girl Kiki! Kiki is a snapper and biter. She is so patient and has figured out how to continue treating her for the last 9 years. My other dogs love her too. Today was my first time with Dr.Morris and she was very thorough and compassionate before, during and after care. Loki had a nix in an area that needed to be shaved, and Dr. Morris called later in the day to make sure he was doing okay and to make the area wasn't bothering him (it wasn't). The front desk staff is very personable and helpful as are the techs. I have never felt they were trying to over charge or do treatments that were not necessary like I felt at another vet when I first adopted Kiki. I think it says a lot when I first started going to a local dog park, and a lot of other pet parents suggested Belleville Animal Clinic. This place is really nice and has that homey feel to it. They normally have appointments available the next day and also is open on the weekends. You have to get your pet checked out first before you buy heart guard but it's worth it. Be sure to ask for the nail trimming as well. The prices aren't too bad but it's not exactly cheap either. On average you can have a physical, nail trimming, and a 6 month supply of heartgaurd and tick guard for around $200. The waiting room is really small so if your helper is waiting get ready for a bark fest. Be sure to use a leash. read more

When I got done she had a fever ( no shot to help bring that down) blood work ( negative ) No checking of eyes , nasal passages ,( opened mouth we only seen upper palate not down the throat ) and given no thoughts or concerns of what this maybe released with some basic amox and a 300$ bill !! cat is still having in pain n now I'm gonna have to pay 300 more for emergency vet read more

My darling Booboo (Boston Terrier) fell ill in Sept. of 07. Another vet said she had parvo and prepared to gather the necessary tools of death, for the euthanization of a 3 mo. old puppy. I gathered my little girl and took her for a second opinion, to B A C. I am still grateful. They saved her life......then. Fast forward to about 2013. I expressed concern as to clouding in her eyes. I was told by Janet Linton (If I remember correctly) that she was fine and not to worry about it. As the clouding progressed, I continued asking about it, in search of a canine opthamologist. After about 2 years, I finally got that referral. Even BAC staff could no longer deny the cataracts that I recognized, at the onset. We immediately made the app't, with the specialist, who said the condition had progressed too far to treat. My beautiful sweet baby went blind, and lived the rest of her life (till 3/16/24) unable to go for walks or even play with balls-almost half of her life. I will never forget or forgive B A C for being dismissive, as to Boo's sight. Although B A C provided healthcare to the rest of my pets and rescues for nearly 8 yrs., Boo was the queen of my heart, and her quality of life (which all vets employ as a mind massage tool to alleviate guilt, when encouraging euthanasia), was severely impacted by being rendered handicapped by the laissez-faire approach to her vision. The damage of inaction was monumentally disasterous for my Boo. They treated my puppy with so much care and love and also took so much time in explaining the importance of the many things I needed to do with my new pup. I worked at a vets office in MO for a year and a half some time ago so I understand that some appointments run longer than blocked off for and things don't always go as planned BUT every time i have been here they are at least 15-20+ minutes late. I entrusted BAC to cremate my cat after she had passed at home. I found it odd right off the bat that I had to hand my baby over in the parking lot (didn't even let us go into their quiet room to finish our goodbyes). This was nothing but a transaction to them. Unfortunately we had to move not long after this and I decided to wait until we moved to pick up her remains so nothing would happen in the process as well as it is emotional to pick up ashes instead of your loving pet. I asked my brother to pick her up while he was there and he was told "well they waited too long so we returned her ashes to be spread in a garden". Not a single phone call was made to us to let us know this would happen. I worked at a vet and we NEVER would take it upon ourselves to return remains. The money is not the issue but the emotional distress of them being so careless. Not a single keepsake was kept for us. I will NEVER recommend going here. I am heartbroken that my pet is now just tossed in some soil instead of at home with her family. Highly disrespectful. They were not even remotely empathetic about it. Ok vet but pricing is getting out of hand. Besides their vet service pricing going up, their prescription prices are 60% higher than 1800petmeds.com so now they charge $10 per script. A change they don't mention on their website. Still I'd rather pay that rather than an extra 60% (in this case, $137) for my dogs medicine. I've never seen a Dr or Vet charge extra for prescriptions as that is included in the basic charges when they did their annual checkups, so I'll be looking for a new veterinarian. read more

They are the worst vets ever! My dog was hit by a car and I took her to them. First I told them all I had was $300 and they said that will work for it all. Second they made her walk in. Third they gave her no pain meds at all. Clearly didn't think about the animal. Fourth the topping on the cake they told me it was going to be $700 to pop her hip back into place. 2 minutes ago I am dumbfounded right now. I have 3 dogs, and take them all to Belleville Anim Clinic. For the past ~3 months, my dog Brandi has needed a dental appointment. She has had some teeth issues in the past and was due to get her mouth checked out. She was also acting more aggressive than usual, which we chalked up to needing a tooth pulled. Because Belleville Animal Clinic isn't doing any dental work during Covid, I had to take Brandi to a different Vet. I requested Belleville Animal Clinic send Brandi's records to this other Vet clinic. Today my other dog developed a horrible hacking cough, likely kennel cough, so I request an appointment. Because I needed Brandi's records sent to a different vet, Belleville Animal Clinic will no longer allow me to make appointments or visit their facility with my 3 dogs. Because one of my dogs needed urgent oral care, Belleville Animal Clinic is dropping me as a patient. I am being forced to find a new vet altogether. I can't even speak to someone to argue my case because it's a Sunday and their administrator doesn't work weekends. Frustrated, dumbfounded, disappointed, angry. Don't take you dogs to Belleville Animal Clinic if you ever might have to go elsewhere for treatment, because BAC will drop you. read more

My young cat was vomiting and wasn't eating. I decided to take him to Belleville Animal clinic because they had an opening. I wasn't overly impressed with the experience. The staff seemed like they were required to be there... After looking at my cat, 12 months old, the Vet recommended testing him for diabetes and testing his kidneys, $$$... maybe if he were 12 years... the Vet tech and I corrected the Vets assumption of his age and she changed the assessment of his condition. We did visit yesterday, and my cat is eating today. So this is good news. But I will likely not return to this Vet clinic. I feel the charge was way too much. I paid $167 for my cat, this is two months after I paid $117 to have him fixed up after he got hurt after sneaking out (severe entry and exit wound). Other people are possibly not quite able to pay this much if they have a sick animal. In the end the animal suffers. read more

So here's the thing. I have to drop a star because the equipment is kind of old. It still works but it's a little old and you won't find a fast scale here or anything, alas. The office is very popular and, as such, can be a little busy but that's okay, the front desk staff keeps us updated on what's going on if you have to wait and they're nice to me and my pets. On the other hand, I have to recommend BAC to anyone because they are so good to me and my pets. I have a herd of cats, one of whom is a little elderly and has a recurring condition, the poor baby, and for a period of time while we were getting him diagnosed, it could've gone either way - he could have had a truly dreadful condition or he could have had a still-icky-but-treatable condition. They were very clear about my options from diagnosis to treatment and they were very, very kind to me while I was calling them about three times a week in a complete panic. We got a diagnosis relatively quickly and the condition is fairly under control but they continue to be very, very kind to me and Meowie while he goes through recurring treatments. So, yeah, maybe the equipment is kind of old but from the front desk to the back office, everyone there makes up for it with their knowledge and kindness and genuine love for their jobs and your pets. read more

I am new to the area and took my dog to Belleville Animal Clinic based on a recommendation. About two weeks ago, my dog had some symptoms so I brought her in, we were seen, and left with some medicine. Now that she is done with the medicine, some of the symptoms have returned. When I called, the person that answered the phone cut me off multiple times and was rude and short with me. I was told I'd hear back from the vet. About three hours later I hadn't heard back but some new symptoms had developed in my dog so I called back to make a note of that. The same person took my call and again interrupted me multiple times. She read the first note she had made back to me and it was incorrect. I tried to correct parts of it and she accused me of lying the first time I called in. She was all but yelling at this point, as if my call and my dog's health was an inconvenience to the clinic. By the time I hung up with her I was in tears. I have never been treated so poorly for simply calling to ask questions and out of concern for my dog. I have had three cats over the past 10+ years that I have taken to BAC. I have always found the vets, the techs, the front desk and the administrator very, very helpful and kind to my animals. One cat had diabetes, one cat had a thyroid issue, allergy issue and arthritis issue and the third recently had a UTI. The vets always took a personal interest in my animal and I believe that they received the very best care. The vets have always been good about calling me back when I had any questions and appointments have always been easy to make. The place is usually very busy, at least before COVID, and the prices seem comparable to other vets. BAC was recommended to me over 10+ years ago and I would recommend it to anyone now. read more

Last night at 7:20 pm my 6month old Pomeranian jumped on the table because my kids left their food out. When he got caught he jumped off, fell and broke his paw in two places. I took in my 3 month old kitten for declawing/neutering. I am VERY attached to him. I finally had to call to be told they would call after his surgery. Well, guess what? Yup, never called me! Just left me hanging, into the next day, hoping he was okay, praying he was ok. I had to call, again, the following day, to be told he was all right, but they are keeping him one more night. And I received no apology, even after explaining all this. Thus 2 stars is about the best they get from me. Once I have him home, and God willing he recovers okay, I will be keeping eyes out for better vets. Meh. read more

This place is great!! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and the hours are awesome!! I've never had to wait more than a day to get my dogs seen nor have I had to wait more than 10-15 minutes at my appointment time. My dogs usually get nervous and shake when my mom has to take them to the vet back in Pennsylvania but when they're in Belleville with me we go here and both dogs love it!! They get excited when I pull in and seem very relaxed in the waiting area. I'd recommend using their services for any of your animals!! read more

After spending 15 minutes on the phone giving all our information and setting up an appointment I was told since we were a new patient there would be a $150 "new patient deposit" along with the visit fee's. I have never heard of such a thing! I have a sick feline companion who I want to get medical treatment for and am willing to pay reasonable and customary costs associated with any needed treatment but a "new patient deposit"?! I've been taking my dog here for almost 13 years now. 13 years ago, I loved this place, but over the past 4 or 5 years it has gradually gone down hill. For some reason, I've kept going back, but after this experience, I'm done. My 13 year old dog had his yearly check up in February, no real issues, just fatty tumors and a spot on his eye that I was told to "watch". In April, I noticed he wasn't chewing his food, so we took him in to be seen. We were told he had an abscess and needed 1 tooth pulled, maybe another. He got antibiotics and labs drawn and later scheduled to get his tooth extracted. He was dropped off at 730 for his appointment by my sister. The vet tech asked why he was there, she said for his appointment to get his teeth dpulled. I later received a call asking what was being done? She said the the girl dropping him off didn't know. I said he had a scheduled appointment to get his tooth extracted. We went back and forth for several minutes, somehow deciding he needed his teeth cleaned too. I was told he would have his procedure at 1230. I called at 3 and was told he had just gone back a little while ago, to call back if I hadn't heard anything in 30 minutes. I waited an hour and still hadn't heard anything. I called again (and of course had to get the entire story of who I was, even though the same person answered the phone) and was told he wasn't done yet. Dr. Linton called about 20 minutes later and said he was done. Took 7 teeth out, most just fell out by touching them. Also he went to the bathroom in his cage, so we shaved his bottom. He will be ready at 7 for pick up. I arrived a little before 7, paid my bill ($500, plus the $200 for labs and the other visit) and waited and waited and waited. 4 employees behind the desk, having a great time. I get they all have different roles, but someone could have just gone and gotten my dog. If I could have left, I would have, but I needed my dog. I waited over 45 minutes, to just pick up my dog and have someone read a piece of paper to me. Here are all my issues.... How did the vet miss that he had 7 rotten teeth when she did his yearly check up just a couple months before? I'm not even sure she looked in his mouth. If they just "fell out, that didn't happen in 2 months". Why didn't they know why he was there in the first place (I won't even go into that full story, maybe they should just read his chart)? You shaved his bottom? Have you heard of washing him off, don't be so lazy? He was there for over 12 hours, did he go outside? The wait... I get emergencies, I work in healthcare, but that place is like a factory. See how many people you can get in to make as much money as you can. I'm not even sure how many people were in and out while I just waited and waited. I was told sorry a few times, but that's it. I felt like I was held hostage, I couldn't leave, you had my dog. I did get an "I'm sorry" voicemail from Dr. Linton, we had an emergency..... Well, after 13 years we won't be back. read more

I've come here several times with my mommy-in-law to help me with my furry babies. She suggested this place to me because she's been coming here for years. My newest baby, Khaleesi, was scratching her face more than normal and it was causing her to bleed. I took her in by myself and they discovered she had a pretty bad case of ear mites. They saw me without an appointment and loved Khaleesi. They were all incredibly nice and attentive. They also give you a free kitten kit the first time your kitty is seen there. It comes with treats, kitten food, tons of literature on raising cats and a folder for your records. I can't imagine taking my babies anywhere else for their medical needs. read more

Staff is so nice, they allowed my Leo to have his blanket and a toy every time he has a surgery. I am a cryer so they are very understanding. I usually treat him onbase but this vet is always available and the one I trust with any type of urgent care, they havent ever told me they couldnt take him. Absolutely abhorrent experience. My asthmatic and allergy prone cat was taken here because she had a rodent ulcer on her tongue. The vet and vet assistant gave her medications without telling me they were doing them with shots. The assistant held her down like she was going to flip out. Less than a week later my cat was literally dying and I took her in for emergency care. She had fluid in her lungs and they X-rayed her only claiming her lungs looked hazy. They couldn't even diagnose her and if the vet before had any fucking bedside manner she wouldn't have given her a heavy shot of steroids which triggered this to happen. I had to drive to VSS in Missouri over an hour away to be told she had congestive heart failure. Why couldn't the vet at bac tell me this? Are you seriously that incompetent that you can't recognize it or are you people too cowardly to tell me the truth? I knew what it was before I was told by VSS, but I had hoped it wasn't. My cat had to be put down the next day and though chf couldn't have been avoided if this vet office had even spent more than five seconds looking her over maybe they wouldn't have basically sent her to her death. If I could give you zero stars I would. Stay away from these incompetent people!!!!! read more

We took our dog there to get an exam. My wife was told it would be best if she waited outside the exam room as to not make the dog nervous. We have never had an issue with this dog he is very sweet and loving. My wife heard him crying horribly in the exam room and wondered what happened. When the technician came out she said that our dog was horrible and would not calm down and actually tried to bite her. This dog has never been anybody in his life. After we took the dog home we noticed that he was in great pain and could not even walk up the stairs. We call the animal clinic and asked if something may have happened in the exam room to make him tweaked his back. After several what terms of trying to find out what happened? They finally admitted that he had fallen off of the exam table. They never would've told us if we did not press hard for information. I would not recommend this place for any animal that you love. read more

BAC Animal Clinic is an Awesome veterinarian clinic. They have really worked with us to keep our aging Great Dane Healthy. But, they advertise and recommend the Belleville Bed & Biscuit Kountry Kennel. Upon their recommendation we took our Great Dane to the Belleville Bed & Biscuit Kountry Kennel so that we could attend an out of town wedding. She was only there for two days. Our beloved pet took three days to recover. She stank of urine and urine was leaking uncontrollably from her. Her eyes were red and sagging. And she was very weak. We cannot and do not agree with the recommendation of this kennel. There's a lot of positive feed back on the kennel. But that is not our opinion or our experience..?..we will never know. read more

The procedure took well over 30 minutes and was anything but quick and peaceful. The tech (not a vet) assigned to the procedure was clearly inexperienced and more importantly, unsupervised.
