Do you REALLY want to know? First thing, the people they use are piece-mealed together. None of the crew that moved us had ever worked together before and most of them seemed like they didn't have any true mover experience other than having a pulse and the ability to lift more than 10 pounds. They weren't in-sync with each other and as a result, they damaged a lot of our belongings. They literally damaged items of furniture that were brand new and some of it was very expensive furniture. The crew was so disorganized and did not maximize the space in their truck. They ran out of room in their truck and told us that they weren't going to have time to make a 2nd trip to come get the rest of our things that they couldn't fit because they had another move after ours and they couldn't delay the next customers. This is when I tried to get ahold of someone from their customer service, which was nearly impossible to get through to anyone. After having to call several times and waiting on hold for up to an hour, I was finally able to speak to a representative who never seemed like they had the answers and had to consult with their supervisor. Because of this, they said that they would have to call me back. When they never called back, I had to call them AGAIN and get placed on eternal hold once again. Meanwhile, my time clock is ticking away and I had to be out of this house by the end of the day because we moved on the last day of the month. After being with them on the phone for HOURS, they basically said that there was nothing that they could do and would not be able to get me a second truck and crew for several days, at an additional cost to me, of course! When I argued with them that it was their own fault that they ran out of room on their truck because of wasted space and haphazard loading, they wouldn't budge and left us hanging with 90% of my belongings moved and 10% remaining at the old house. Also, their moving truck leaked about 2 quarts of engine oil on the BRAND NEW driveway of our $1.3M home. They said we had to file a claim to seek reimbursement, which was a whole other fiasco. After following their instructions and jumping through all the hoops that they make you jump through to file a claim online, they DENIED reimbursement for the damage to our driveway and only offered to pay us pennies on the dollar for the very expensive furniture that they scratched, gouged or broke into pieces. What a slap in the face! We ended up having to hire a different moving company to come move the rest of our stuff that Bellhop could not move. This, by far, was THE WORST moving experience that I have EVER had in all the moves I have done in my 51 years on this Earth. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER USING BELLHOP FOR YOUR MOVING NEEDS. NOTE: I ONLY GAVE ONE STAR ON THE RATING BECAUSE THAT WAS THE LOWEST RATING I COULD GIVE. YELP WOULD NOT LET ME POST MY REVIEW WITHOUT GIVING THEM AT LEAST ONE STAR.

The two movers that moved my items and now I'm missing things

Do NOT trust this company. They make you feel so comfortable and then when you have items missing they will do NOTHING for you because they believe their movers. I regret bringing them breakfast, I regret being nice and helping them move items, I regret telling them to take a break if needed, I regret trusting them. I should have run the operation like boot camp and maybe things would be different. I'm a single mom and had to move on a Friday. Rather than scrambling to round up friends and family along with vehicles to make this move from one apartment building to another, I hired this company to help. There was no physical way for me to supervise 3 men at once. One guy stayed in the truck while the other two moved my belongings. Unless I stood at the end of the loading ramp for the ENTIRE process, there's no way to monitor every move. Did I mention how they did not only arrive in the moving truck, they brought a personal vehicle as well? Sure they showed me the packed truck and later on an empty truck but did I think I needed to check their personal vehicle or the cabin of the moving truck as well? No, but you better believe I'll never make that mistake again. Now that I'm doing inventory of all my belongings but it's outside of the 5 business day window after the move, this company will do nothing about the fact that I have kitchen items and paintings missing. Not to mention how 5 business days would also overlap holidays and I HIGHLY doubt the company would have responded any differently. Moral of the story is, if you're going to hire this company, do NOT trust them no matter how friendly they may act to your face because the moment you're not looking, they can and will steal from you and corporate will back them up.

My ex hired Bellhop to move her furniture out of my house and when I got home I saw several scrapes, dents, and gouges in my walls and ceiling. Upon contacting them I was sent a settlement claim for $150, but in her name. I felt this was enough to have my home fixed, but spent the next 2 weeks trying to get a hold of the one person who could put the check in my name since it was my home that was damaged, but my ex who hired them. After numerous calls, being put on hold, and replying to emails, the guy I had to talk to said sorry, the check has to be sent to her, so arrange to get the money from her. Completely unacceptable, awful customer service.

Movers damaged over $5k worth of stuff, including a new refrigerator because they did not know how to pack item securely in a truck. If you tell them how specific items need to packed, they will ignore you and do whatever they want. Driver arrived four hours late to new home and was annoyed that he had to complete the delivery. The communication is awful. You will get a different answer from each person you talk to. They promise callbacks and never call back. The claims team will not communicate directly with customer during claims process. They are also very misleading when explaining coverage. Do not use them!!!

This damage is to a high end bicycle, it will cost hundreds of dollars to fix. This bike had no scratches before Bellhops!

Bellhop proposed a claim settlement that was ridiculous! First off their claim form couldn't even handle all of the damage that was done. I kept getting messages that the file was too large. I had to send pictures via email to get around the system that isn't set up to handle the amount of damage that was done. Now the offer they have proposed is insane!! They created thousands of dollars of damage including damage to fabric chairs and scratched and dented Washing machine and scratched high end bicycles. The amount of the settlement that they offered wouldn't even fix a small portion of the damage they created. They didn't use enough of the blankets I provided and now they don't believe that they should have to pay for the damage that they created!! I would just like my things brought back to the condition that they were before Bellhops!!

Awesome crew! Thanks for the great service. --Joe Garcia and William Byrd

I was not incentivized for this review at all. Paid with my own money and found them through Yelp. Why should you just stop researching moving companies and book with them? Here's why: 1. They do what they say and they are professional movers. -Clear quote in writing. They don't chase low rates. You do pay for what you get. Also: -No extra surprise fees -They moved me out of 2 storage units, drove my items to my new home, unloaded that load, then helped me unload and unpack my 16foot pod. 2. Their management is very responsive and clear with pricing and quotes verbally and in writing. Discount if you use zelle or venmo otherwise you pay CC fee of 3%. 3. This crew arrived on the dot, moved my things with care and were SUPER quick working. They unloaded my 2 units and into their truck so fast. Once in my 2 story home they asked where things needed to go. None of this needing to move things after the move. They laid down a protective mat for the dollys and high traffic. They took the extra time to help me place my heavy furniture and took apart and put back together beds after going up and down my stairs. They were super careful not to hit my walls, corners or doors and doorways. I'd 1000% pay the money and hire them again. I've moved 6 times at this point and by far this has been the most pleasant, professional, efficient and enjoyable! While we waited for the pod to arrive (pod was running late) Brandon proactively asked if he could help me unpack my kitchen boxes. He went above and beyond. They worked cleanly putting trash away, boxes broken down and put in a nice pile. Thanks Moving Kings and my crew today! You are wonderful!

I booked Jackson of All Trades after getting several moving quotes because their $150/hour rate was…read moreone of the more affordable options, and a friend had used them before and had a good experience. Overall, my experience was a mixed bag with some definite pros and cons. My appointment was scheduled for 8:30 a.m., which I chose intentionally because this was an August move in Austin and I wanted to get as much done as possible before the worst heat of the day. At 8:06, one of the movers texted to let me know they were having truck problems and would be arriving between 9 and 9:30. They kept me updated, but ultimately didn't arrive and start until 9:30, a full hour after my scheduled time. Unfortunately, losing that hour meant much more of the move ended up happening during the peak afternoon heat I had specifically tried to avoid with the early appointment. They also called when they arrived because they weren't sure where to park, even though I had provided parking instructions in my confirmation email. They arrived in a U-Haul rather than one of the company's branded trucks, which I assume was related to the truck trouble. The two movers themselves were incredibly nice and pleasant throughout the entire move. They took good care of my furniture and wrapped and protected pieces thoroughly. Nothing about the handling of my belongings made me nervous, and I appreciated the care they took. That said, the pace was slower than I expected. For context, this was one person moving out of a one-bedroom apartment, not a family or large household, and I had done a LOT to prepare. Everything was fully packed, approximately 30 reusable moving boxes were staged together for easy loading, I had pre-wrapped some furniture and I even moved about 15 vacuum bags out to the truck myself. My old building did require navigating hallways and an elevator, which understandably added time to the load-out. On the other end, however, the truck could park directly outside my new ground-floor apartment with access through both the garage and front door, so unloading was about as straightforward as it could be. The move ultimately took about 6.5 hours. By the end, the Austin heat and humidity were understandably taking a toll and the pace had slowed considerably. Since I was paying by the hour, I eventually told them to leave some furniture for me to reassemble and some items for me to move into the correct rooms myself because the time and cost were continuing to climb and I needed to stop the clock. This is where I'm a little torn on whether I'd use them again. The hourly rate was considerably cheaper than several other quotes I received, but after a 6.5-hour move, I think the final cost probably ended up being similar to what I might have paid for a more expensive but more experienced or efficient crew. Sometimes a lower hourly rate isn't necessarily a lower total moving cost. Still, the guys were genuinely kind, took good care of my belongings and got everything safely from one apartment to the other. I especially appreciated them powering through a brutally hot Austin moving day. If half stars were an option, I'd probably land at 3.5. I'm rounding up to four because I really liked the crew and appreciated the care they took with my things, but the hour-late start, communication/organization issues and the overall pace would make me hesitant to book again.

I wanted to make sure I fully understood just how bad the value was before I said anything. And honestly? I feel completely scammed and played. First of all, I was NOT given the actual details of how far these movers were from me. I was told they were "located in San Marcos." Okay... then why the hell were they driving to downtown Austin to move me? That made absolutely no sense, but I didn't think much of it at the time bc from my understanding that was the least of my worries. Then I get charged a random driving fee for them getting to me. I was completely blindsided. The guy expressed he explained this one the phone but no the fuck you didn't. I would have canceled right then and there. But Fine still thought max I would pay plus gratitude was 400. But the worst part was I was moving into an apartment literally about 10 feet away from where I was already living. I barely had anything to move, which I specifically told them. Yet they showed up with a MASSIVE truck that I didn't even need or use. Then somehow, after TWO HOURS of moving a very small amount of stuff literally 10 feet away, the bill came out to around $600 PLUS gratuity. $600. For moving my stuff 10 fucking feet. What exactly was I paying for? A luxury relocation experience? A parade? Were they supposed to do backflips while carrying my boxes? Maybe make me dinner afterward? Because for $600, the expectations apparently should've been Cirque du Soleil. And here's what really pissed me off. When I gave feedback and said that customers should at least be given a realistic estimate or ballpark price BEFORE agreeing to the service, the representative basically told me, in so many words, that if they told customers the actual price, nobody would book them. Well... fucking exactly. If I had been told beforehand that moving my small amount of belongings approximately 10 feet was going to cost me around $600, I would have said ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOT, BETTY CROCKER. I would have told those movers to turn that giant-ass truck right around, drive back to the North Pole or wherever the hell they came from, and stay in their own damn area. Instead, I was hit with random fees that were never clearly explained upfront. And when I mentioned that I had receipts and questioned the charges, suddenly the representative was ready to offer me a 10% discount. Oh, NOW there's flexibility? That makes the whole thing feel even worse. Customers should not have to argue, present receipts, or threaten to leave a bad review before suddenly being offered a discount. If the charges are legitimate, explain them clearly from the beginning. If they aren't, don't just throw random bullshit onto the bill and hope people pay it. And the attitude from the representative made everything even worse. Instead of actually listening to my concerns or showing even a little empathy, I was met with an attitude that was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. Maybe take a fucking Xanax, calm down, and learn how to speak to people who are rightfully questioning why they were charged hundreds of dollars for a move that took two hours and went basically 10 feet. I genuinely feel terrible for the actual workers because this is not their fault. To the movers: PLEASE QUIT AND FIND YOURSELF A BETTER COMPANY TO WORK FOR. You deserve better than working for a company that leaves customers this pissed off and apparently leaves employees to deal with the fallout. As for the representative: you were by far the worst part of this experience. Telling a customer that you don't give them the "legit" price because otherwise nobody would book you is an absolutely insane thing to say to someone who is already upset about being overcharged. I am beyond disappointed with this company. The lack of transparency, the unexplained fees, the ridiculous price, and the way my concerns were handled were completely unacceptable. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. If you're considering booking them, ASK FOR THE TOTAL PRICE AND EVERY SINGLE FEE IN WRITING BEFORE THEY TOUCH YOUR STUFF. Otherwise, you may end up paying hundreds of dollars and wondering what the hell you just got charged for. I would never use this company again, and I would strongly encourage anyone else to think twice before giving them your money. I hope this company gets sued or goes out of business. Sweet dreams. And if I could give this negative stars it would be so far back in the negatives it wouldn't be able to ever recover.

Absolutely recommend Bailey's Moving Company. Gio and Josh rapidly knocked out the job with real…read morecare and attention to detail. They were real pros, and on an easily 100+ heat index day, it can slow things down considerably, with a 3 staircase climb over and over. I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. I'll try to use them again if and when it happens next, and I'll be recommending them to any friends that are looking for help moving. Good to meet you guys and thanks again for the great work. - CV

Bailey's Moving had the best reviews going in and they offered me the most affordable quote, so after a phone call with David, the Owner/Boss, I booked them for Monday morning. The crew arrived as scheduled and quickly dismantled and wrapped everything that needed it. The men moved carefully but quickly with my property, as if they were having a silent race. With me paying them by the hour -- my kind of guys! Bottom line: my move went off better than I expected. Bailey's Moving Company is a professional operation & you would do well to hire them. Thank you, gentlemen.
