Damage to my vanity mirror that wasn't wrapped and was just thrown in the truck.
Sho D.

At this point, I could write a dissertation about how absolutely horrendous Bellhop is, but since I don't have the space, let me give you some bullet points: -The two trucks assigned to us were 1.5 hours and 3.25 hours late respectively on the front end of the move (because they took other jobs to make more money), and an hour late on the back end of the move. -Only one person in the crew of people assigned to our move on the front end (Austin) had any idea what they were doing. The other people were college kids who all admitted it was their first or second time doing any moving, and it was clear they'd received NO training. They dropped and broke furniture in front of me without apology. They didn't bother to pad or wrap most of our stuff. And they packed the truck with no care or thought whatsoever (example: a heavy guitar amp was placed on my keyboard case despite it saying "Fragile" all over it) -On the back end of our move (Denver), we were supposed to have 6 crew members. Only 2 showed up. After they frantically called as many people as possible, eventually a 3rd person came, and maybe an hour later a 4th person came, but he was so high he might as well have not even been there. -When the trucks were opened at our destination, the crew members were so appalled by how they were packed, they took pictures of all the damage to make sure they wouldn't he held responsible for it. Lest you think they didn't cause any damage of their own, they took the mattress protector off of our mattress and dragged it on the concrete and also dragged a velvet couch on the concrete, causing permanent damage to both. -The main truck driver made incredibly misogynistic "jokes" to me and my partner, including telling me after I took off my jacket to reveal a crop top that, "If I had known you were going to be stripping, I would have brought my ones." -A valuable item was stolen from my partner's backpack, which had been placed aside in the primary bedroom closet. We had to file a police report, and Bellhop had to instigate an internal investigation, which went nowhere. Bellhop also refused to take any responsibility for the crime their contractor committed. The worst offenders were the customer service people at Bellhop who I dealt with after all of this happened. I spent weeks negotiating with them to get damages paid and a refund, and the most they were willing to pay out amounted to about a 60% total refund (including what they'd pay in damages) for the move. But when they sent over the legal agreement, it contained a non-disparagement clause. In case you were wondering how they have such good reviews, it's because people who they pay damages to are legally barred from saying anything negative about the company. I told them I wouldn't sign the agreement with that clause in it, and they refused to take it out. So I filed a claim with my bank under the Fair Credit Billing Act and eventually won a full refund. Unfortunately, that barely begins to cover the cost of the damages they caused to all of our stuff, but at least I can speak freely about my awful experiences with Bellhop. I beg you to stay away from this moving company.

Chris F.

Do you REALLY want to know? First thing, the people they use are piece-mealed together. None of the crew that moved us had ever worked together before and most of them seemed like they didn't have any true mover experience other than having a pulse and the ability to lift more than 10 pounds. They weren't in-sync with each other and as a result, they damaged a lot of our belongings. They literally damaged items of furniture that were brand new and some of it was very expensive furniture. The crew was so disorganized and did not maximize the space in their truck. They ran out of room in their truck and told us that they weren't going to have time to make a 2nd trip to come get the rest of our things that they couldn't fit because they had another move after ours and they couldn't delay the next customers. This is when I tried to get ahold of someone from their customer service, which was nearly impossible to get through to anyone. After having to call several times and waiting on hold for up to an hour, I was finally able to speak to a representative who never seemed like they had the answers and had to consult with their supervisor. Because of this, they said that they would have to call me back. When they never called back, I had to call them AGAIN and get placed on eternal hold once again. Meanwhile, my time clock is ticking away and I had to be out of this house by the end of the day because we moved on the last day of the month. After being with them on the phone for HOURS, they basically said that there was nothing that they could do and would not be able to get me a second truck and crew for several days, at an additional cost to me, of course! When I argued with them that it was their own fault that they ran out of room on their truck because of wasted space and haphazard loading, they wouldn't budge and left us hanging with 90% of my belongings moved and 10% remaining at the old house. Also, their moving truck leaked about 2 quarts of engine oil on the BRAND NEW driveway of our $1.3M home. They said we had to file a claim to seek reimbursement, which was a whole other fiasco. After following their instructions and jumping through all the hoops that they make you jump through to file a claim online, they DENIED reimbursement for the damage to our driveway and only offered to pay us pennies on the dollar for the very expensive furniture that they scratched, gouged or broke into pieces. What a slap in the face! We ended up having to hire a different moving company to come move the rest of our stuff that Bellhop could not move. This, by far, was THE WORST moving experience that I have EVER had in all the moves I have done in my 51 years on this Earth. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER USING BELLHOP FOR YOUR MOVING NEEDS. NOTE: I ONLY GAVE ONE STAR ON THE RATING BECAUSE THAT WAS THE LOWEST RATING I COULD GIVE. YELP WOULD NOT LET ME POST MY REVIEW WITHOUT GIVING THEM AT LEAST ONE STAR.

The two movers that moved my items and now I'm missing things
Miki G.

Do NOT trust this company. They make you feel so comfortable and then when you have items missing they will do NOTHING for you because they believe their movers. I regret bringing them breakfast, I regret being nice and helping them move items, I regret telling them to take a break if needed, I regret trusting them. I should have run the operation like boot camp and maybe things would be different. I'm a single mom and had to move on a Friday. Rather than scrambling to round up friends and family along with vehicles to make this move from one apartment building to another, I hired this company to help. There was no physical way for me to supervise 3 men at once. One guy stayed in the truck while the other two moved my belongings. Unless I stood at the end of the loading ramp for the ENTIRE process, there's no way to monitor every move. Did I mention how they did not only arrive in the moving truck, they brought a personal vehicle as well? Sure they showed me the packed truck and later on an empty truck but did I think I needed to check their personal vehicle or the cabin of the moving truck as well? No, but you better believe I'll never make that mistake again. Now that I'm doing inventory of all my belongings but it's outside of the 5 business day window after the move, this company will do nothing about the fact that I have kitchen items and paintings missing. Not to mention how 5 business days would also overlap holidays and I HIGHLY doubt the company would have responded any differently. Moral of the story is, if you're going to hire this company, do NOT trust them no matter how friendly they may act to your face because the moment you're not looking, they can and will steal from you and corporate will back them up.

Movers damaged over $5k worth of stuff, including a new refrigerator because they did not know how to pack item securely in a truck. If you tell them how specific items need to packed, they will ignore you and do whatever they want. Driver arrived four hours late to new home and was annoyed that he had to complete the delivery. The communication is awful. You will get a different answer from each person you talk to. They promise callbacks and never call back. The claims team will not communicate directly with customer during claims process. They are also very misleading when explaining coverage. Do not use them!!!

My ex hired Bellhop to move her furniture out of my house and when I got home I saw several scrapes, dents, and gouges in my walls and ceiling. Upon contacting them I was sent a settlement claim for $150, but in her name. I felt this was enough to have my home fixed, but spent the next 2 weeks trying to get a hold of the one person who could put the check in my name since it was my home that was damaged, but my ex who hired them. After numerous calls, being put on hold, and replying to emails, the guy I had to talk to said sorry, the check has to be sent to her, so arrange to get the money from her. Completely unacceptable, awful customer service.

This damage is to a high end bicycle, it will cost hundreds of dollars to fix. This bike had no scratches before Bellhops!

Bellhop proposed a claim settlement that was ridiculous! First off their claim form couldn't even handle all of the damage that was done. I kept getting messages that the file was too large. I had to send pictures via email to get around the system that isn't set up to handle the amount of damage that was done. Now the offer they have proposed is insane!! They created thousands of dollars of damage including damage to fabric chairs and scratched and dented Washing machine and scratched high end bicycles. The amount of the settlement that they offered wouldn't even fix a small portion of the damage they created. They didn't use enough of the blankets I provided and now they don't believe that they should have to pay for the damage that they created!! I would just like my things brought back to the condition that they were before Bellhops!!

Awesome crew! Thanks for the great service. --Joe Garcia and William Byrd

We used this service with 2 stops and then a final destination for a local move of some of our belongings. AJ and Travis were the young men sent to facilitate our move and boy did they ever. On time, careful with our belongings, polite and professional. They worked at a fast pace yet were extremely careful with our belongings. Because the first stop was our storage unit my husband also viewed their HWY driving, they drove at a good clip, but followed all laws and did not speed, but did not dawdle to pad the time like some hrly moving companies do, loading at both locations went smoothly as did the unloading( which I was there to view). I can't say enough good things about AJ and Travis! While they were careful of our belongings they were also very conscious of the time and they beat the low estimate of the quote I was given. I would absolutely use their service again and I would even recommend asking if AJ and Travis are available!

Whether I paid or he did is irrelevant--we both contributed to this process equally. To clarify a few things: I had my own dollies and equipment, and both Alex and I were moving significantly more items ourselves than your movers were. In fact, I noticed multiple times when I went down to the truck that both movers were just standing inside, not actively working. Several items they did handle--like my paintings that were still sealed in plastic--were wrapped unnecessarily three or four times, wasting time rather than helping the move go more efficiently. Yes, the elevator used was the freight elevator, but even if it hadn't been, both available elevators were equally close to the unit, so the point feels moot. Most importantly, the way you've chosen to handle this as a business owner is honestly shocking. Arguing with customers, deflecting accountability, and lacking basic humility or professionalism--especially when we were among your first clients and you had no reviews at the time--is both disappointing and embarrassing to witness.

Seems very high for a small living room and a bed... They later sent a receipt with the wrong amount I was charged. Felt like they were constantly running the clock as they took their time with everything: unnecessary over-wrapping of the furniture, claiming to need to disassemble furniture even further after I had already disassembled plenty on my own, and just overall lots of standing around. They dropped off all of the disassembled stuff at the new place and left. (Afraid of what the time would have been if they had helped with reassembly...) EDIT: Owner responded claiming there were no elevators to assist in the move when there in fact WERE operational elevators at both properties that were used by YOU so that was a blatant lie. Nobody else used the elevators during the entire time we hauled stuff to and from the truck... The original apartment was actually right in the middle of the complex so not sure why you're lying again claiming that it was at the end of a hallway...? As for the ridiculous claim about the truck's parking adding more time: the truck was parked at the entrance of the gate... Parking the truck a whopping 20 feet further to be OUTSIDE the gate would not have added "considerable more time" to moving the furniture and would have in fact saved time because you wouldn't have been blocking anyone inside the gate... Disappointed not only with how the move was handled but the lack of respect and lies told in the response. Extremely unprofessional.

I understand that it's hot out and in no way is it acceptable that I was working harder and faster to move my belongings. Additionally, I was charged for 4.25 hours of work on top of the $160 travel fee? Why am I essentially getting charged for both travel and workers? Not to mention that your guys went to the wrong address for delivery at first so I'm getting charged for incompetence and slow workers? Also one of the guys took a 10min+ bathroom break at my new apartment. I get that nature calls and I also think it's reasonable to take breaks like that off my bill. Had I not been working as much as I was to move my stuff (both to the truck and from it) I would have had to pay for another 1-2 hours of labor which is absolute robbery. Please let me know what can be done to make this poor experience right. Tristen on 6/5: Hi Sean, I'm sorry to hear this. I will look into this and I'd like to follow up with you on Monday. Tristen on Wednesday, 6/11: Sean, do you have any photos or videos that show the crews inefficiencies? I am trying to corroborate this with the crew and dispatch manager but I don't have much to go off of. To follow up on the travel charge- that covers the time spent driving to the load location and back from the unload location, fuel expense, use of the truck and tools and equipment that we use during the move. ------- Pictures and additional text conversation included. Absolutely terrible actual service which matched the customer service. My favorite is where the team lead told me that they went to the wrong location and that it would be an hour to get to me despite me giving him the exact address and the apartment complex. I also gave them my address about 10 times when requesting and signing off on service so being charged for their inability to put in an address adds to the shi!show that it was to hire this company.

I've used Two Men & A Truck seven or eight times over the years, across multiple states, and never, not once; have I experienced anything remotely close to what I endured on 12/17/2025. This franchise should be shut down, full stop. I never even thought to check reviews because my past experiences with this company have consistently been excellent. In fact, my previous move into Austin was outstanding, fast, efficient, detail-oriented, and professional. I was so impressed that I tipped each mover $100 and even gifted them brand-new clothes and shoes that had belonged to my late brother. That's the level of appreciation I normally have for this brand. This move? A complete disaster. The two movers, Austin and Fernando, were pleasant enough on a personal level but professionally, it felt like I was watching two people move an apartment for the very first time. Fernando tried to keep things moving, but they were completely out of sync because Austin simply could not keep up. Let me be very clear: This was a one-bedroom, first-floor apartment, moved just over TWO MILES away on the SAME STREET, into a second-floor loft. Total time? Almost FIVE HOURS. They complained about long walkways yet arrived without the proper equipment, which slowed everything down to a crawl. And to make matters worse, they didn't even move all of my belongings. I still have items left at my old apartment, costing me more money daily because I still have not been able to turn in the keys. I also lost a full day to move the rest of my stuff because I had to go to work. Everything was boxed and ready before they arrived. Yet Austin spent an excessive amount of time shrink-wrapping items furniture as if we were transporting things across state lines. We were moving down the street! The pace was so painfully slow that I eventually told them to only move the large items and I would just move the rest of my things myself. Now let's talk money. I was charged $160 per hour PLUS a $160 trip fee. WTF?????????!!!!!!!! Yes, read that again. The total came out to $1,040.00. I have never paid anywhere near that amount for a local move; ever. When I complained, and when my mother complained, we were met with passive-aggressive disrespect from the Operations Manager who came out to the site, he was so disconnected it felt like talking to a Charlie Brown character; nothing but noise, no substance. Then I was escalated to "Good Olé Patronizing Tristan," who proudly identified himself as some sort of Director. I could not tell. He handled my complaint with zero care, zero accountability, and maximum condescension. His response? "We're just having a conversation." No, Tristan; we were not. You were deflecting. You and your staff are incompetent. This clearly isn't his first time treating customers this way. He knocked $200 off the bill, leaving me to still pay $800.00, despite the fact that not all of my belongings were moved. Let me be blunt: It's very easy to be smug and disrespectful over the phone. That behavior is cowardly, unprofessional, and unacceptable. Be careful the energy you throw out because you will be faced with it right back if the lessons in customer service are not taken a round turn on. I contacted corporate and filed a complaint; only to be routed right back to Tristan, even after clearly explaining that he was part of the problem. I did not want to speak him but in that money I tried. He did not. "There is nothing more we can do!" I am definitely reporting this franchise to the BBB. They cannot keep operating in this manner. And I'll say it again for emphasis: I WANT MY MONEY BACK. YOU DID NOT RENDER QUALITY SERVICE. If you value your time, money, or sanity; RUN. AND FAST!
