It's a small owned business I believe. They definitely got the job done and were fairly priced. One bedroom apartment about 800sqft with around 20-30 medium sized boxes, a tv stand/tv, couch, dresser, desk and chair.... took two movers about three and a half hours. They moved fairly quickly in the beginning and kind of slowed down a bit toward the end with a couple of times taking breaks looking at their phones...I assumed they were tired. A couple of things to note are that the moving truck did not have their logo and their staff was not wearing a uniform so we almost thought they were a scam but they ended up being the real deal. They also did not give us any update nor were particularly friendly. They sort of just moved things and got in their truck and drove off without letting us know. We quickly got in our cars and went to the next location to open the door for them. The unloading was the fastest part and as I said before got the job done. They worked with us and around us. They had to trek through a labrynthian apartment complex to get from their truck to our apartment, and then back again. They charged us $1900 and never gave a receipt or could tell me how they came up with all these XTRA charges. I had Melrose Moving help me and my brother out moving from Miracle Mile to the heart of Hollywood. The two movers who helped us out were Eric and Vasile who were both incredibly helpful, fast and knowledgeable. The day started with them arriving 5 minutes early and carefully packing everything up. They helped disassemble our bed frame and offered to do the same for our table but figured it would be faster and more efficient to move it whole. After moving everything into the van they dropped some items off at another location free of charge. Both the place we moved to and the second location had some really narrow areas and Eric was able to put the truck in places I thought were impossible. Lastly, when we arrived and unpacked everything it was all in great condition. They made the moving process so easy for us I would highly recommend them to everyone. I love lists in reviews so here are the reasons why I gave them 5 stars: 1. On time. Many movers I talked to required a 4 hour window for the start time. 2. Good value. 2 man crew for $70 per hour (price quotes ranged from $59 -$110). 3. Based on my experience with Eric and Vasile, the crews seem really nice. 4. Easy going and flexible. Between being able to fit the truck in tight spots and adding the extra location for free it really feels like they are not trying to nickel and dime you. Joe and Eric from Melrose Moving were great. They were courteous, efficient very communicative (they always asked before doing anything and always made sure of our preferences). They also called to let us know when they would be arriving, which was much appreciated. Most importantly, they were really careful with all of our furniture, especially the wooden bed and chest of drawers. They asked us where we wanted each one of our boxes to be placed when they were unlabelled (when we overlooked it) and made sure everything was in order. I was pretty impressed with how they dealt with some of the parking constraints as well. The place that we moved into had really narrow alleyways and people parked in all the spots but they didn't complain at all and "made it work." On that note, I'm actually surprised by how hard they work. I've seen a bunch of movers that either did the bare minimum or were silent and didn't bother to ask us what we wanted. Joe and Eric were the complete opposite! Their rates are also pretty good. I would definitely say that their per hour is worth every minute for the awesome service that we got. Since we were moving just a few blocks down, they waived the mileage fee, which was really nice of them. And they threw in a free wardrobe box to use during the move. Even their office was really nice. The staff are also very communicative. They email all the details of the move itinerary and ask you to reply to confirm all the details are correct.
