Absolutely amazing service! The gentleman who delivered our goods today (Robert, Terry, Curtis, & Steven), were top notch, and I'm very happy with how smoothly everything went. From the get go, they had great attitudes, were very professional, and you could tell they genuinely cared about taking care of our things and helping us document things that were damaged from the previous movers who packed our stuff up. I'd like to note that it was NOT Central transportation systems that caused the damage. And while all four gentleman were truly incredible, I want to really highlight Robert. I'm fairly certain he was the lead supervisor of the group, and he runs a tight ship, which is appreciated. You can tell when someone takes great pride in their work, and he was a shining example of that. Between the four of them, they unpacked what was originally a 4bd/2bth house in about 3.5 hours. Hey, shout out to Robert and Stephen, who helped us finish a difficult move and made it a pleasant experience in the process, which I thought was absolutely impossible. They moved approximately 4500 pounds of furniture and boxes into our garage after these items had been in storage. Our freezer was at the back of the truck. They dug the freezer out and staged everything, so when it was ready to go in, there was adequate space and organization to gain access to the wall where it was going and then promptly moved the rest in. I have rarely been impressed by movers but these guys did it! read more

Let me just put this out there. Long distance move and it was not an easy move from snow storm, delays and the stress of everything. When it finally arrived Rob and his staff Kendrick (who loves wood), Christine & Steven made everything forgettable from my AM call to the actual unloading of the truck. These guys & gal were very professional, handles our items with care and work hard. I will definitely hire them again and be giving them referrals. Used Central Transportation Systems for my military move from Nebraska to Austin TX on Sep 27, 2019 and couldn't have been more pleased with the speed and care that Kenneth Terry and his fellow mover had with my belongings. Start to finish they were able to move a 1br apartment amount of items from the truck to my 3rd flr apartment in less than 3 hours. Having moved numerous times within the same city (San Francisco), after 4 years, it was finally time to make the big capital "m" Move. My furniture was picked up in San Francisco and hauled over 2 weeks to the fair city of Austin, TX. There, I was met with aplomb and good cheer by Robert and his crew of pleasant professionals. Despite the 70% humidity, Robert greeted me with extremely positive humor, and the grin on his face was genuine. Despite being a cynical fellow, when he said the words "I love what I do, and I take pride in what I do", I believed him without a trace of irony. And boy, was he good at what he does - he promised me to unpack my furniture (up 4 floors and a substantial series of hallways, I might add) within an hour, and right at the 60 minute mark - wouldn't you know it - he DID. When he discovered some moving damages to my television from the packing crew in San Francisco, he became genuinely disappointed and impressed upon me the utmost importance of reporting a claim to my move manager. He even took photos on his personal phone and reported it to HIS manager, just in case! I could not have been more amazed by his speed, skill, and absurdly upbeat demeanor. I was sweating like a hog at a roast just standing around, and yet he and his crew performed strenuous physical labor with dignity, precision, and over-the-top focus on my customer experience. He urged me to direct me around my apartment with his furniture so it was placed exactly where I wanted it, and to not just "put it anywhere that's convenient" - he actually wanted me to be satisfied with the setup as soon as it got off the moving truck!! I could NOT recommend Robert highly enough. I felt as though he truly wanted my comfort and satisfaction levels to be as high as possible. Moreover, he was thorough in ways I didn't think possible. AMAZING! I recently collected furniture for those who lost everything during Hurricane Harvey down in Port Aransas. I called around to a couple of different moving companies looking for some sort of discount to haul a semi truck worth of furniture down to those in need. I wasn't having any luck...until I called James at Central Transportation Systems. To my surprise, James COMPLETELY donated two semi trucks to help me take everything down. We only ended up needing one, but we filled that thing up completely. They got a customer for life out of me. I tell all of my clients (I'm in the real estate business) about them. I don't even know where to start with these movers. I guess from the beginning they were a much cheaper option for our international move. They assured me the items would fit in a 20 ft container, spoiler alert, they didn't. The packers were a crew that clearly did not know what they were doing for packing or inventory. They put random items from several rooms together, we found cigarette butts in our boxes, someone ate a lemon like an apple and left it on our marble counter tops and it ate into our seal so we had to reseal it. The packers themselves were a rag tag group of people that included an elderly woman, someone who was injured, and a guy that I think stole from us as he didn't come back after the first day. I will say they were hard workers, but given the physical limitations they would have to be to get it all done. Oh and we weren't allowed to help and my husband had the flu which is why we didn't just do it ourselves. They used so much fluff that things just wouldn't fit and they lacked common sense. We told them not to pack several large items unless there was room. They packed them first instead so that we had to tell them to unpack it all and they didn't listen. Also, we had a stack of credit cards and checks stolen from a drawer they weren't even packing as we had placed all items to be packed out in the middle since we weren't moving everything. Try dealing with fraud when you're on the other side of the world. Super awesome. The initial shipment went out two weeks late and we were never told even though we directly asked. They claimed it would take 3-5 weeks total, 9 weeks later we finally had our first shipment. Our second didn't go out until a month later at least even though we were told it would be a week behind. So we had pan lids without pans, printers without cables etc. for a month. Then, instead of just paying the 3000 difference to get a larger container, we were told sending as overflow would be much, much cheaper. Yeah, we finally were billed In January, more than a month later, for 2400. Not to mention that once our initial shipment left, we were given zero info on it. No tracking or status when I would email to ask. Actually no response AT ALL! To simple questions like "did you send out our overflow? when can we expect it? How much does it cost?" I literally heard nothing from them for weeks! I sent multiple messages as well to everyone I had contact info on. They had all of our earthly possessions and felt it was appropriate to ignore us. I had to research on my own to find tracking information and its how I discovered things went out much later than they told us. The lack of communication really astounds me. I was speaking and dealing directly with the owner or operator and it was crickets. I waited 4 months to write this review as I wanted to make sure they didn't mess with our belongings or mess up the import process. I can't tell you how awful these people were. Maybe with a local in city move they would be fine, but overall they give united van lines a really bad name. The ONLY person that was helpful at all was the director of operations. he was friendly, brought in a knowledgeable crew and made them reorganize it all. I do not recommend. read more

It's impressive how fast and efficient they were both times both with our move from between apartments, and then a house. Central also donated the use of an 18 wheel truck and a driver to transport donations to Port Aransas after hurricane Harvey. read more

STAY AWAY!! If this is the Central Transportation that Ben owns and Rollin is a salesperson for - do NOT and I repeat NOT use them!!! They are not the people/company you should entrust your move with. They severely damaged part of our building, have installer that took 4 hours to put up a bookshelf - to which they didn't use drywall screws and we had to pay more installers to properly put up, they stepped on, thereby breaking a ping pong table, and then refused to pay for the table to be fixed. They didn't tie down the contents of one of the moving trucks - whereby EVERYTHING crashed during the move... another time they only put in a refrigerator (although they did tie that down)... and set the truck on it's way. (BTW: you pay per truck per hour.) If we sat down for a cup of coffee and I told you everything - you would be in shock. Do NOT trust them with your business. read more

Sandra come out twice to my house and provided a detailed bid that was on point. She didn't pester me trying to get the sale but gave me all the information I needed. She even told me about government websites that help consumers with the moving process. I was really worried about being scammed or tricked & she did not do that at all. She was readily available whenever I needed to contact her. On the day of the move, the 3 guys that loaded our house for the cross country move were incredibly efficient. I thought it would take all day but it only took from about 9-1pm to load the truck. They came promptly on time that morning too. It was raining that day but they keep the house clean and maintained a positive attitude during unpleasant weather. It took 11 days to get our stuff, moving from TX to NY. I'd been warned by other friends who had moved cross country to assume the final day of the window of time will be the actual delivery day. They were right. If they tell you your stuff will arrive between the 6-12th, go ahead and count on it being the 12th. The guys moving our stuff into our new place were also hard workers and quick. The biggest issue we had was that a couch leg was broken off while in transit. How can a metal leg get sheared off like that? They blanket wrapped it but apparently that's not enough. The claims process has been easy. They sent out a guy a few days later to check out our couch. Supposedly it can get fixed. Still waiting on that. Our stuff didn't get held hostage for a higher price, they didn't try to upsell us, everyone I came in contact with was professional yet kind. I just wish our couch hadn't gotten broken. read more

Recently moved my daughter to Austin and Central Transportation must have been contracted through Mayflower, as this is who our contract was with. Two men moved her possessions into a first floor apartment. They were professional ( although arrived later than the 2 hour window) but not overly friendly. They did NOT cover their shoes or protect any carpet flooring - even though we expressed concern over two new area rugs. They even placed a bicycle directly on an area rug instead of leaving outside or asking. One lamp arrived broken but everything else was fine. read more

They have refused to acknowledge their behavior and make appropriate restitution. DO NOT USE this mover at all. They lack integrity. read more

I've moved a lot, this is by far the worst. Central Transportation Systems out of Austin, TX told me my things would be delivered in 2 weeks. Then the day before delivery, they called to tell me it would almost 3 MORE WEEKS. They're communication is terrible and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and FMCSA. read more
