The staff are the most incredible and hardworking people and they will stop at nothing to ensure that you have an amazing experience. You get your choice of many scrumptious dishes and can also choose off the main menu for just $5 extra. Which I highly recommend if you're dying to try the pasta. Well, another time Yelp has let me down... I saw a dinner menu review which I based my decision to visit from, only to find out that the menu had recently changed. I guess, always call ahead is the lesson! I came quite aways to dine here and the service was wonderful and the food true-to-form Italian. I alternated between special mixed drinks and the mocktails (Rosie Orchata/Cecilia). I enjoyed the starter but not the Fontina Flatbread for some reason. We took my dad here for father's day brunch which the staff was able to accommodate due to the last minute attempt. Staff told us we were able to make reservations for 6 people. Staff was very nice and professional over the phone. Going to the restuarant was stress-free because there was parking available (it was a Sunday, btw) and when we got there, the place was practically empty. I quickly wondered if this spot was a good choice. But my dad cited that the World Cup was on as we speak so we understood why people wanted to stay in instead to watch the soccer game. Service was impeccable. The staff really took care of us with taking our orders, promptly and the food came with the quickness. The only small con(s) was the cappuccino machine was broken, the restaurant had one last mint tea left so three people had to change their requests and they couldn't make me decaf coffee. This was at the beginning brunch so we were anticipated major destruction with the meals. But the food was totally awesome. Like, I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't expect the Tuscan salad to be two thumbs up. And everyone else really enjoyed their meals, too. I also tried the huevos rancheros which was delish. The combination of tortilla, avocado, fried egg and black beans was a tasteful mix. My son enjoyed his French toast, as well. Dessert was good too but I did find my tiramisu extremely creamy with non-existent cake and no ladyfingers cookies to give it that cool flavor. I got the huevos racheros which was not huevos racheros. It was two dry eggs on top of a tortilla and you know those really sad mini pico de gallo you may get to go at a fast food place? It was like that was emptied and maybe emptied black bean can. I also asked for runny eggs and they were both definitely extremely hard yolks. I asked for more salsa and was told no. Honestly, I've never related to Ashlee Simpson's "invisible" more. Not gonna lie it hurt... I don't know who was more confused, him or me after watching the series finale of Lost. The food was okay. While I enjoyed my meal (I got pasta) most of my friends were disappointed. Two of them ordered the waffle, and when it arrived, it came without syrup. What kind of waffle doesn't come with syrup? That's like a hamburger coming without a bun! It just don't make sense, honey. They waited approximately 1/2 of an iCarly episode and 2 commercials for syrup, so by the time it came, the food was cold. They didn't even want it anymore. One of my friend's was so hungry and upset that she couldn't eat that she pulled out seaweed to chomp on (which is just inexcusable tbh), but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. Perhaps coming here on a Sunday was a mistake. My friends are so upset that I dragged them to this place and have sworn that I'll never be trusted as a reliable source for recommendations ever again. Belli Osteria is one of the places that you have a tendency to remember when you're looking for a venue that's easy-breezy. It's a shame that I don't come more often, because I always enjoy the place immensely, especially the staff. This past Sunday, Marcella, Francisco and Irvin treated us to the most caring experience we've had in a long time. Thank all of you!!! At the risk of contradicting my earlier statements, I do wish they had at least a tv or something for the bar patrons; perhaps a little divider between the bar and indoor dining as to not disturb the "serious" diners? I didn't know much about Belli, but when they were open for take-out during the pandemic when most of the restaurants in my neighborhood were closed, we checked out the menu and were excited about trying their homemade pasta. We weren't disappointed! The pasta was delicious! Better than anything we could cook at home. Also, my kids enjoyed the mushroom flatbread. The kale salad (and dressing) were great. All of the tables have an amazing view of outside which allows for great people watching. Believe me, there is a lot of great things to witness on the streets. The dining options are divided into two areas. One seemingly is better suited for large groups. There is a fantastic mirror lined bar which gives a hint of vintage nostalgia that all Italian restaurants should have. Also, the wall decor is amazing as well. :::::BRUNCH::::: Came for Brunch. For $23.95 you get your choice of a brunch entree and 90 minutes of bottomless Bloody Orange Mimosas, Bloody Mary's, Regular or Iced Coffee. And let me tell you they do not skimp on the pours. I've been eyeing this place for a while now and was presented with the perfect timing after getting my nails done! I was able to be seated despite the kitchen closing in ten minutes but I already knew what I wanted. The cheeseburger was soooooo banging. I have no idea how the fu*k hubby and I wound up here. Well, I kind of do. Our original plan was to go to nearby Bon Chovie. But at 8:00 on a Saturday night, only one table was occupied, which made for a glum vibe. Then we tried to get a table at Emily across the street and conversely, were told there was at least a 40 minute wait. So I suppose it was down to it being a Goldilocks and the Three Bears sort of deal with this spot. It boasted a decent-sized crowd, yet snagging a couple seats at the bar was painless, making it just right. Or so we thought: First the good: Am a sucker for a generous pour of wine and they indulged me here. Service was friendly and efficient too, and the dining room had a nice, happy buzz. Now the not so good: The food was utterly lackluster; like the Chef was half-asleep while making it. Mercifully, the Fried Calamari wasn't overcooked, but its breading wasn't crispy and it came with a "spicy Calabrian sauce" that literally tasted like bland, COLD ketchup to me. A Mozzarella, Fontina, & Tomato Sauce "Flatbread" featured a crust that was way too thick and doughy, and toppings that were too heavily applied. It tasted like frozen Home Run Inn pizza for those who are familiar, but not as good. Beef Carpaccio topped with Arugula and Shaved Parm tossed in a zingy dressing wasn't bad, but all I kept thinking while eating it was "Sheena Easton's in the house and wants her favorite dish back." Per Peter D., it seems this spot is baby sister to Fragole, a looongtime Carroll Gardens eatery with a similar Italian menu that I recall enjoying back in the day. So just maybe my concept of awesome food has evolved. And just maybe this mini restaurant group, which also apparently includes Piccoli Tratoria and Piccoli To Go, has not kept up. But given how bustling this place was on a Saturday night, there are plenty of other diners who feel differently. And so it goes. read more

I was looking to take myself out to a nice Sunday brunch. I've gotten delicious delivery from Belli before, and was pleased to see they did a brunch. I was seated immediately and waited on by some of the most attentive staff. My water was always filled, drinks regularly refreshed. The server asked if I was interested in the bottomless brunch, which includes coffee and mimosas/bloody Mary's for 90 minutes. I didn't realize it also included the entree! $30 for all of that is a deal in Brooklyn. I was waited on by 4 different people, all extremely polite, quick, and helpful. As a Bloody Mary fan, I've been let down by restaurants in the past. But Belli delivered delicious drinks and coffee every time they passed my table. My frittata was solid. This is my go to place in Brooklyn! Me and all my friend spend most of our birthdays here in the past two years or so. Their brunch is one of the most affordable and delicious ones I've been to, and their ability to split checks goes a long way. We have such big parties it's no fuss when the bill comes! Re: gluten free pasta, I've gotten the spaghetti calabrese which is always cooked perfectly (I've asked them each time to confirm it's gluten free because I'm always skeptical given how well cooked the pasta is!). Chocolate molten cake with caramel center is amazing - definitely recommend ordering it with some ice cream on the side. Drinks have also been great. Service is always friendly and thoughtful. My problem with this place is that it smells like a bathroom right away when you walk in. That's ok for a dive bar, not for a neighborhood Italian spot. 2. Your decor is cute and cozy. If you got rid of the junk (extra soda bottles sitting right next to the front door?!, garbage can sitting out in the open, random stuff behind the bar), the ambience would be so much more pleasant. 3. Turn down the lights a little bit. A Friday night should have more intimate lighting. 4. Turn up the music, and play something more authentic than classic rock. That's it! If those things were tweaked I would definitely go back with friends. I had the pizza, which tasted more American, and was exactly what I wanted. Belli is my Brooklyn neighborhood go-to place for an amazing brunch on Saturday/Sundays. I would advise to do either the Cadillac Margarita if you want one drink (so delicious) or the $25 All-You-Can-Drink mimosas (which comes in three different flavors - Mango, Orange and Pomegranate).
