I checked out Bellini for the first time for restaurant week recently. The decor and ambiance is fairly posh, but bright and inviting. Service was polite and efficient but a bit detached. The food overall was good. I enjoyed the carpaccio the most of the dishes I tried. I also had the branzino which was good but I thought the sweetness of the parsnip puree (it said fennel puree on the RW menu but parsnip puree on the regular menu--tasted more like parsnip to me) didn't really complement the other flavors. Aside from that it was really good and a nice portion size that didn't overwhelm. The tiramisu with two thumbs up! Overall it was a good meal! I can't complain though with so many great Italian restaurants in Providence I'm not sure it would be a standout from some others.

Bellini is a spot I've been wanting to try! First it's way smaller than the pics! But I loved the ambiance and decor! The bar seems elevated, but it's actually just because the seating in the dining room is low! Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Food 4/5 All the food was good - just not amazing which I was hoping for! The veal meatball was our favorite out of all our dishes! The cocktails were great! The desserts were great! We will definitely be back and maybe try something new! It was PVD restaurant week so maybe it was just because it's a different menu!

Bellini is a popular restaurant in RI. It offers a classy, luxury, and intimate atmosphere with a modern, Italian, lavish theme. Perfect for a date night with your honey or brunch/dinner with the family. Service is friendly and each staff member is always dressed up so elegantly. They offer valet parking. The restaurant is connected to the Beatrice Hotel for any out of towners that want a quick bite to eat. My favorite dish is the scallops with a side of rice. It comes with a lemon butter sauce that is incredible! The fried mozzarella is thick and crispy. I love that it's not to oily as well for something pan fried. The mixed green salad makes a great app. It comes with a honey mustard dressing that is subtly sweet and savory. Upon closing out the bill, it always comes with a side of short bread cookies. A sweet treat before you head out. Yum!

Loved this restaurant! I actually ate there twice over the weekend. Our dinner was romantic and the our pasta was great. The following day, I ate there alone and sat in a booth in the bar. My martini was great. The servers were happy and smiling. It is a cool place!

I chose this restaurant for my husband's team at a conference and it was a lovely choice to make sure that the team felt valued for all they do. I had the Linguine Branzino and could put it on a weekly rotation it was so delicious. The Branzino was flaky, tender, moist and perfectly seared. The linguine was in a perfectly balanced marinara that had a hint both sweetness and tanginess that was delightful. My husband ordered the lobster risotto and it was also amazing! Savory with a hint of sweetness. We chose a French wine that paired perfectly with the dishes. The service was fabulous and Tess was I top of everything. The decorative touches for the holidays were just right and we all enjoyed the show tunes soundtrack!

We recently stopped here for drinks. The bar was beautifully lit up and decorated. The tables around the bar area were very comfy. We all got different cocktails and we loved all of them. They have a large variety of choices for drinks and wines. The service was excellent and the ambiance was very chic.

My colleagues and I had a reservation at Bellini for our Team End of the Year Appreciation Dinner. When Bellini texted my colleague who made the reservation to confirm dinner the day prior, it said they don't allow shorts or hats. Since I was the first to arrive, I waited in the front area where the hostess is situated. There were 4 chairs. Valet parking is available and street parking but it may be hard to find. The restaurant is very modern and spacious inside. We were a group of 10 and were seated in the private room in the back of the restaurant at one long table. On the table were two drink menus. I started with the Bee's Knees which had Gin, Honey Syrup, Lemon Juice, Calabrian Chili and then ordered the Empress 75 which had Prosecco, Gin, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup. Both drinks were good. The Empress 75 has a nice lavender color. My colleague had The Bellini, which is a pretty standard drink with prosecco and white peach. It was served in a cocktail glass and not a champagne flute. The worst part is that it was warm. She asked for a cup of ice and poured it in there, but it did not help. Two bread baskets were brought to the table. It was full of different breads like breadsticks and focaccia. The bread was fluffy and light. For dinner, I had the Tagliardi with "Tartufo Nero di Norcia" Black Truffle Cream Sauce. The Black Truffle Cream Sauce was so creamy, tasty, and succulent. Tagliardi are wide squares of thin pasta. The pasta was silky and velvety and with the sauce, it was delicious! There were also shaved truffle pieces on top. The whole dish was packed with flavor and I enjoyed every bite. At the end of the meal, we got complimentary cookies. They were so buttery and soft. Service was great and attentive. Gratuity was already added to the bill. We left the restaurant feeling full and enjoyed each other's company.

We were thoroughly impressed by our dinner at Bellini! Two years ago, we left feeling underwhelmed, but this time we decided to return, drawn by the inviting atmosphere and warm, welcoming vibe. We're so glad we did! Every dish exceeded our expectations, and we savored each bite. The peaceful ambiance, paired with soft Christmas instrumentals in the background, created the perfect setting for a memorable evening. It was truly a lovely mother-daughter dinner, and we can't wait to come back again! Scallops with lemon butter caper sauce: fantastic! The sauce was warm with the perfect amount of lemon. Steak tartar: very delicious and flavorful. Minestrone soup: not what you would expect from a minestrone soup. However, it was SO delicious. We would highly suggest ordering this as a tummy soother either before your meal or after every other dish. Meatballs: not our favorite dish-- meatballs were a little cold and had a weird crust Truffle pasta: AMAZING! A must order! Creamy and truffles!

Great atmosphere and service. Didn't have to ask for a single thing, as the Bellini staff was on it before I even knew what I needed. Me and my girlfriend were serviced by Wilmer in particular. His attentiveness made dining at Bellini's an experience to remember. Each course was brought one right after the other, but we didn't feel rushed. The environment is quite calm. I personally had the fried mozzarella and bruschetta trio del giorno for appetizers, the spinach and ricotta cheese toretelli for my entree, and finally tiramisu for dessert. All tasted amazing, honestly one of the best meals I've had in a while. Everything was fresh and light. Big thanks to the staff, and especially Wilmer for the amazing service. Will most definitely be attending a future dinner service.

Needless to say, it was a disappointing start to what was supposed to be a special family evening. Thankfully, a quick call to Aguardente in Fox Point changed everything. The person who answered explained that they weren't taking reservations that evening, but they did have one outdoor table left if we could make it there in time. Despite the challenges of navigating Providence during the World Cup festivities and the Cape Verde Festival in the Fox Point area, we managed to get to the restaurant and secure that last table. We are incredibly grateful to the staff at Aguardente for helping turn our evening around. Our daughter and son-in-law were hoping to enjoy one last dinner with both families before leaving on Monday for a special assignment in South Carolina, and the unexpected closure of our original restaurant had left everyone feeling frustrated and disappointed. From the moment we arrived, the team at Aguardente made us feel welcome. The food was excellent, the drinks were wonderful, and the service was outstanding. Most importantly, they helped transform what had begun as a stressful evening into a memorable celebration with family. Thank you to everyone at Aguardente for your kindness, hospitality, and professionalism. You made our families smile and created a special memory during an important moment in our lives. We highly recommend Aguardente and look forward to returning. -- A very grateful family

The upper 'porch' like area looks really fun, but the table we were seated at was so close to the other tables I was uncomfortable. I get that we're in a city, but I value my personal space and privacy and felt like the whole restaurant could hear my every word - ick. Service: our server seemed annoyed that I didn't want an alcoholic drink, and was not very helpful. Half of the menu is not in English (very chaotic how some portions are in English and others are not, it doesn't seem consistent), so we had some questions, such as "what does x taste like?" and the only response we got was "not too sweet"....okay, but what DOES it taste like? She spoke very fast and I couldn't understand her listing off the specials, even though she didn't really have an accent. She left partway through while we were there so I guess she was just at the end of her shift and checked out, but it was so offputting how rude and unhelpful she was. When our servers transitioned, we offered to cash out then since we weren't getting anything else and wanted the original server to get her tips, but she started joking around that we didn't have to do that - which I appreciate, but we actually did want to get going and get cashed out, but she refused to give us our check. I asked three times and she still wouldn't 'let us do that'...very weird. Food: there were not a ton of vegetarian options that appealed to me. I went a little overboard on plantains by accident, which is my mistake. I first ordered the Rellenitos with cilantro crema sauce, which were very good and a flavor combination I wasn't expecting. The dough to filling ratio was a little off and they were pretty dry inside, so I needed a lot of the sauce. An order only came with 2 and I wish it was more. I'm glad I ordered something else - Tula Fries, which came with the same exact cilantro creme sauce as the Rellenitos, even though they are described differently on the menu, which felt lazy to repeat a sauce. The sauce didn't go well with them at all in my opinion so I did not enjoy these as much as I would've liked. My friend enjoyed her drink, but thought almost all of the meat on her meat and cheese board was either low quality or close to going bad. It was priced reasonably, which we were shocked by, but she couldn't eat a good portion of it sadly. We did really enjoy the baked flava bean snack that was a part of it. The board weirdly came with just half of one small, half rotten strawberry that looked terrible - it would've been better to leave it off. Towards the end of the night, there was so much water on the floor in the hallway that goes to the bathroom and passes the kitchen - I had to walk through it to go to the bathroom, which felt like a safety hazard. My friend was on crutches and wouldn't even try to get over there since we knew she'd slip on all the water. It just looked terrible and was dangerous, so not sure what we going on that there was such a water issue there. Their specialties and more meat based dishes are probably great, but there just aren't a ton of things for me to eat here. I'd be willing to try it again for drinks and apps if the service wasn't so unwelcoming.

Somehow, despite having lived here for years and spending plenty of time around downtown…read moreProvidence, I had never been to The Eddy. I'm honestly not sure how I missed it, because this is exactly the kind of place I like finding. It is the true definition of a small cocktail bar. The space is tiny, intimate, and has a very specific atmosphere, so if you're looking for a big place with plenty of tables, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for a great cocktail in a cozy little bar, however, you're in the right place. The cocktail menu is excellent. There are a lot of creative options that go well beyond the standard collection of Old Fashioneds, Margaritas, and Martinis you'll find at most bars. The drinks are imaginative without becoming gimmicky, and the combinations we tried were really well balanced and interesting. You can tell there is some serious thought behind the cocktail program, and it makes ordering something new a lot of fun. Our waitress was fantastic as well. My wife ordered a drink that apparently isn't something every bartender is familiar with, so our waitress went back to the bartender to ask about it. The bartender immediately knew exactly what she was talking about, which was a nice little reminder that these people actually know their drinks. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy without hovering over us. The music deserves a mention, too. It was fantastic and fit the atmosphere perfectly. The Eddy has that comfortable, slightly dark cocktail-bar feeling where you can sit down, have a drink, listen to good music, and actually enjoy being there rather than feeling like you're sitting in a loud restaurant waiting for someone to bring you your check. My only real warning is that this place is genuinely small. That is part of its charm, but it also means getting in and finding a seat can be difficult at times, particularly when it's busy. You probably shouldn't show up with a large group expecting to immediately find a table. For two people looking for a couple of really good cocktails, though, it's pretty much ideal. The prices are also quite reasonable for the quality of the drinks. You're obviously paying cocktail-bar prices rather than dive-bar prices, but I didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of. Considering the creativity and quality of what we were drinking, I thought the prices were perfectly fair. I'm actually a little annoyed that I went this long without knowing The Eddy existed. Providence has so many cocktail bars that you can spend years here and still keep discovering places you've somehow walked past a hundred times. The Eddy is definitely going on the list of places we need to come back to, and we will 100% be back.

So, Plan B it was, and honestly, I'm glad we ended up here. Yellow Door has a really fun atmosphere. The playlist was lively, the place gradually filled up while we were there, and the whole space has a vibrant, welcoming feel without becoming obnoxiously loud or chaotic. It's very aesthetically pleasing, with a colorful, modern look that fits the whole taco-bar concept perfectly. It feels like somewhere you could drop in for a couple of drinks and tacos with friends and just hang out for the evening. Our bartender was really nice and attentive, and the cocktails were probably the highlight of the visit for me. The drink menu is extensive, and there are plenty of interesting options rather than the usual handful of margaritas and beer. Everything we had was well balanced and well made. Providence has been having something of a cocktail renaissance lately, and Yellow Door fits right into that trend. The food was good, although I have to be honest about the birria taco we tried. It was tasty, but it wasn't exactly a life-changing taco, and it was on the small side for the price. I was expecting something that would make me immediately understand why everyone gets so excited about birria, and this one didn't quite get there. That said, "good but not mind-blowing" is still good, and I'm not going to knock an entire restaurant because one taco didn't knock my socks off. We only tried a small portion of the menu, so there's plenty more to explore. That's actually one of the reasons we'll be back. I want to try some of the other food, and I'd like to come on a different night to see how the atmosphere feels when we're not in the middle of a weekend crawl. Sometimes a place hits differently when you actually sit down, order a few things and give the menu a proper chance rather than treating it as one stop on a larger evening. Overall, Yellow Door Taqueria is a very solid four stars. The atmosphere is fun, the space is attractive, the bartenders are friendly, and the cocktails are genuinely good. The food we tried was good, although the birria taco didn't quite live up to the hype for me. Still, there's enough here that I'm interested in coming back and trying more, which is ultimately a pretty good endorsement. Sometimes Plan B turns out to be worth keeping on the list.
