It is so hard to come by quality coffee these days, especially that actually come in a proper large size! I was so impressed with this place! It was fast, our food was amazing, and most of all my latte was the best latte I've had in Cali so far. Perfect espresso to oat milk ratio, and a true 20 oz large latte. Very chill atmosphere with mellow music playing and plenty of personal space for quiet relaxation or creating a temporary work station. This coffeehouse was clean with a very open & spacious atmosphere and would accommodate a large group in either of their two areas. The barista was easy-going and did not rush in making a selection. The matcha latte was expeditiously prepared, however it could have been a bit hotter and have a more intense matcha flavor. They were also out of medium cup sleeves, but the barista asked if I wanted to "double cup" my latte. It wasn't that hot to do so - points lost there. One thing I really appreciated was that the payment transaction screen did not automatically prompt for a gratuity. At many places, the cashier hovers over the payment screen to see if a tip has been added - not here! I did not feel like my latte quality was being held hostage appending a tip. This is a difficult review to write because I had opposing experiences. During a 2-night stay in Atascadero (my first time in that lovely town), I visited Belnano on two mornings and one afternoon. The vibe of the place seemed just right: relaxed, inviting, and coffee-forward. Each of the House Roast coffees I purchased in the mornings were excellent. They were well-brewed. And I could tell they were from well-roasted beans. The folks at Belnano seem to know how to batch brew a good coffee and are working with good stock in their Peruvian beans. Well done, folks! However, the afternoon visit was less-than-impressive. The cup of hot coffee I received was from a percolator-brewed batch. In and of itself, that's OK. However the coffee shop employee filled my cup halfway with coffee and the rest with hot water. I thought it strange when she did so, but didn't question it at the time. Later on, during my drive back home up 101, I realized I should have questioned it: the coffee was very weak and watered down. Not good. And the cold-brew iced coffee that my wife ordered was also not good: it was over-extracted and bitter bitter bitter, even with a significant portion of milk. So I received both some really excellent coffee and some really poor coffee from Belnano. That makes for a difficult review to write. read more

Nice soft music playing unlike some of the other coffee houses that seem to play lots of rock. This was very nice. Will definitely return. read more

We ordered 4 drinks, a blueberry scone, and a fiesta bagel. Everything was great. My blended Carmel frappe with chocolate drizzle was delicious. The scone was soft and taste great. Everyone else enjoyed their drinks as well. The service was great and we got our drinks and food quickly. It's a great space with plenty of parking. The coffee might have been a little more than other places but was well worth it. If you haven't tried this place you have to check it out for yourself. read more

I was excited to try this new local coffee shop, but am unimpressed by it. The logo and it's colors doesn't seem coffee shop to me, as well the brand not matching the interior. The interior brand icon painted in the shop and lighting is much more sophisticated yet there was a small set of shelves stuffed with random little trinkets and a hard to read digital menu. Besides the inconsistent branding, the coffee was overpriced and not that great compared to the other local coffee roasts in the area. The quality of the latte I had did not match the expensive price. The baristas were very young and I ordered a danish to go with it and they handed me a scone. The scone was quite good but I left disappointed with the experience. Giving 3 stars for the flavor of the coffee. I got a hot vanilla latte (small, $6; $1 for almond milk, $1 for vanilla flavor) and my partner got an iced vanilla latte (medium, $8; $1 for oat milk, $1 for vanilla flavor). The prices are definitely up there... we likely will only return here once in a while just because it is pricier. My partners cup was 80% ice (see picture attached) and he finished it in about 4 minutes. The space is sophisticated and not necessarily warm and cozy. It's nicely updated and the light fixtures are cool. I can't see many people coming in to do work and focus. The menu DEFINITELY needs to be redone on a screen or something to match the sophisticated space. The girl working was great, she's new but very sweet and she's trying to learn. This was an interesting place that just left me confused. Their drinks are pretty pricey when compared to other local coffee shops. They were decent. There were so many options it was pretty overwhelming. In addition there were some odd menu choices... like the lack of eggs in all their breakfast sandwiches, and the use of shreddes cheese instead of sliced cheese it honestly just seemed lazy.. so I was literally given a croissant with lettuce, bacon and shredded cheese that wasnt even melted. I've been to this family owned coffee shop a few times during a travel nurse assignment and let me tell you. I am so glad I purchased a bag of their coffee beans because hands down one of the best cup of coffee I have ever brewed at home. Now, this place has always been my go to. I know a lot about coffee and tea, having written a mail order catalogue for one company many years back, been in the food & wine business for ages, and blending my own teas for a while now. I like both tea and coffee and have been a regular espresso drinker for decades, so believe me when I tell you this is The. Best. Coffee. In. SLO County. Check them out! Some years ago, I would have said that Morro Bay's Top Dog - particularly in its original incarnation as Two Dogs - was hard to beat for their fresh roasted beans. But Belnano's is just off the charts delicious. Exquisite! They grow their own beans in Peru and roast them on premises in Atown with a very high-end machine I was privileged to see. (If you are from LA and know The Conservatory in Culver City, this is comparable.) They care about every detail and are always trying new things to entice more customers and keep the regulars happy. They have a nice menu of both sweet and savory treats - really decent baked goods and terrific service. I wish them well and encourage anyone to stop by - they are a very easy on and off the 101 North, and they have good extended hours, open most days to six pm - later than many other artisanal spots in our area. Just stopped in on a whim looking for something other than Starbucks, glad we did! Space is very cute, cool and clean. As for the coffee, amazing selection and very helpful staff who want to make sure you get the exact flavor you want. I haven't been to this place since it opened. That time i paid more for a black coffee than the express drinks. The base price of a filtered coffee has come down, I think. The menu and prices are confusing. There's only one price listed and when I asked the person ringing me up what size the prices are for, she said regular size is medium, so she rang us up for a medium. The board said $5.50, then added $1 for almond milk and $1.25 for Carmel flavoring. In the end, the price for that single 16 ounce drink was $9.42. We went because my daughter got a $5 gift card from an event. I was open to trying it again. The coffee is good, but not enough to pay those prices. read more

Yeah, I stopped by this place to get a chai latte (my favorite drink) yesterday on my way to an event. I ordered a chai, The cashier said, "What size? Small, medium, large?" I said, "Medium is good." Oh, and I asked for it to not be too hot. I also asked for Almond or Oat milk. She charged me like $5.95 + $1.00 for almond milk, which came out to $7.00+ with tax. Then, she proceeded to soak a tea bag in hot water and add almond milk. I should have just walked out! But, I decide to inquire as to why I was charged so much when on the menu it said that a hot or iced tea was only $3.50, which is what I was getting. Then she said, "well, but you asked for a medium, which is a dollar more." For hot water? Basically, it was a complete joke of service and pricing!!! Again, I should have just walked out, but I had already paid $7.00+ for a hot tea w/ almond milk. So frustrating...!!! I should have known when the place looked all nice and sterile inside with two doors and one of them didn't even have any handles. I joked when I walked in the other door how I went to the first one with no handles and was like, "what am I supposed to do with that?" She replied, "just push." I was thinking, "On what?
