    Tea time on the patio

This place is so magical. Every inch of this place has a touch of whimsy. The staff are so amazing, nice, and knowledgable. What a great spot to have a nice snack and tea. The tea is so amazing and fresh and tasty! The weekend high tea is something to not miss! The back patio is so relaxing and perfect for studying or reading a book. I'll definitely be back. Tip: check out the bathroom...even if you don't have to go. tip: if you want to secure a spot for high tea, make sure to sign up, spots open on Thursday night!

I recently attended the Tea Trolley Atascadero's grand opening at the Sip and Shop last Friday and it was crazy packed with so many people checking out the new space. Everyone was "oohing and aahing" on what a stunning little jewel of a tea shop Atascadero has now again in its downtown area. The current owner has definitely taken the tea shop to the next level. It's just so pretty inside - including the bathroom! I was also fortunate to attend the Tea Trolley's inaugural high tea the following day. The pre-fixed menu consisted of delicious mini sandwiches of cucumber dill and cream, ham and cheese, egg salad with capers, and smoked salmon and brie, lemon scones and crumpets with Devonshire cream and lemon curd, and sweet treats of macarons, chocolate eclair, lemon bar shortbread, and a raspberry filled petit four. Each person gets their own pot of tea. And the shop has its own resident tea expert. Gina can tell you everything about the teas and you leave knowing more about teas than when you first came in. I'm obsessed with the tea I chose. It's called the Purple Teaser on the high tea menu but in the shop they sell it as Alice's Curiosity Cup . It's a tisane full of flowers, fruits, herbs, and marshmallow. I ended up buying a tin of the loose tea and been drinking it every day since. It tastes amazing hot AND cold. I also bought the sweet treats they sell during the rest of the week when they don't have high tea seatings. There were these delicious melt-in-your-mouth shortbread cookies sourced from the Bay Area - Lynne's Labor of Love. It came in 3 flavors: lavender citrus, earl grey, and rose petal. I couldn't decide which was my favorite because all were so good! And don't get me started on the mini lemon pie and the Millionaire bar (a Twix flavored brownie) both from Bramble Pie Company. I bought a few of each home to my mom and sister and they devoured them. The owner, Deneen, mentioned that high tea is only on Saturdays and Sundays by online reservation. But she welcomes guests to enjoy a la carte the tea, scones, sweet treats, and sandwiches in her shop Wednesday-Friday and on Sat/Sun from 2-5pm. People can sit in the tea room, outside in the back patio, and the chairs scattered throughout the store. She also said that the tearoom and patio will be available for private events. I'm already thinking of baby showers and birthday high teas for the near future! I think Tea Trolley is the only tea room in the area. It's such a wonderful addition to the Central Coast. I have a feeling it's going to be a success and can't wait to go back soon.

I was SO happy to find out that this place reopened. It has been closed since Covid and is now open under new management. They were so booked up that ai had to ask to be on a waitlist, which fortunately concluded with a reservation. So, if you want to book here (and high tea is only on weekends), you need to do it pretty far in advance. It is worth it though. Seating is pretty limited, given the small indoor dining space....likely the reason they book up easily. The tea is hosted by the new owner, who is very gracious and informative about the tea service. Our tier included 4 sandwich choices, scones/jam/curd/Devon cream, fresh fruit, slaw and miniature desserts (lemon bar, eclair, macarons and petit fours. Everything was beyond delicious...we ended up taking most of our dessert options in a take out box because we were so full. There are many tea options, and I elected for a delicious cinnamon black tea. When the owner found out we were celebrating my actual birthday on the date of our reservation, I was treated to an addition, yummy mini lemon pie. I am fairly certain this may now be the ONLY place in SLO county that offers a proper high tea. I most definitely will be back!!

What an amazing experience and lovely host! Our first visit to Atascadero and stumbled upon this place! Will definitely be back to enjoy the beautifully decorated rooms and fun garden!

I travel up here for work on occasion and it was a great place for me to purchase fresh donuts instead of the ones down in SLO specially if I wasn't down there already. Overall, The vibe here is more cozy but it is also in a busier location because of the location of the movie theater. I've driven by here hundreds of times but never realize that it was hiding in plain sight. All of my usual favorites are here. There's always a lot of the fancy looking donuts and my personal favorites are the creampuffs. These are probably one of the best creampuffs I've ever had. They're almost like larger donut holes with cream in there. They're just wonderful. I've always wanted to try some of the drinks that they have here but I've always only purchased the donuts and creampuffs here. The last time I was here, the team was very friendly and helpful and they were able to get me in and out of there in a matter of minutes. There is tons of parking here and it's plaza. if you get lucky, there are spots right outside on the street for easy access.

I needed roughly 5-10 mins to look over all of the options before making my selections. There is a front case with all of the specialty donuts and a whole back wall with the classics donuts. To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement. As a group of 4 we decided to order several donuts to share. We ordered the blueberry cake, pecan pie raised, mashed potato raised, lavender with sprinkles raised, pumpkin cheesecake, espresso filled, pumpkin brûlée bites, and a jalapeño ham and cheese croissant. The donuts are very beautifully decorated and the time that was spent decorating them shows. The customer service was patient, kind and very helpful. Some of the funky donuts such as the mashed potato raised donut is actually vanilla flavored and thankfully the person helping us was patient enough to tell us all of the flavors. All of the donuts were delicious. No complaints what so ever. As for the prices, they were listed above and everything is a fair price for speciality donuts. Additionally, they offered a very generous 25% discount for military. Inside there were seating options surrounding a fire place, bar style seating, and some options outdoors.

I could barely see the pastries in the case. No worries though, I saw what I came in for. Purchased a French baguette for $3.70. Beyond amazed at the price. Excited to have some with my coffee, I ripped off a piece almost immediately and noticed the nice crust on the outside. 5 stars for the crust!! As for the flavor, it seemed a little flat. It was lacking some of the wheaty-tangy flavor you would get from a longer prove/fermentation. The inside of it was also missing all those nice deep pockets you see in a French baguette. Overall, not a bad baguette, but not one that you yearn for. I'd like to mention the young lady Annabel I had the privilege of meeting outside of the bakery. She was on a delivery run, but told me about their IG page, and we had a wonderful chat about cookies. Thank you for your time, Annabel, you are awesome!

It was more like a southern potato salad. We loved the bread it was with though. Had a crunch but didn't hurt the roof of your mouth. We will be back to try other things.

I happened to be up in Atascadero with my daughter during their opening hours, fortunately, and stopped in. The last few times I'd tried to come here they weren't open, so I was excited. They seemed understaffed, with only 2 people I think, but quickly greeted us, took our order, and helped get our outdoor table ready. There was a bunch of road construction and my daughter wanted to watch the tractors and trucks. Nice little nook in the corner of the shopping center, decent seating inside and a handful outside. I ordered the cuban sandwich, I like them but so many around SLO county are just not good. Well, this came out on a beautiful bread roll and was packed full of the meats. The pickles and mustard were perfect, the ratios were great, it was a mouthful. The bread was baked excellent and really the stand out, as it should be at a bakery. That said, this is a sandwich I'd happily drive up 41 to get again. Can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches and hopefully come home with some fresh baked bread.
