My husband and I recently moved to the area. We started coming here for fun. We aren't big spenders but we do save up enough between trips to make it worth while. At first we did ok but here are a few things I have noticed: 1. They make it confusing to enter drawings. (+You have to spend $$$ before you can) 2. They have now limited your free cash and it has to be spent in 7 days or you lose it. 3. The front desk has some staff members that can be rude. 4. The games are very tight and we have heard others complain. 5. What used to be a fun outing is no longer fun :( I think we will now save up to go elsewhere which is a shame because this is closer but I think if the perks were better we would still be going. :/. read more

With so many activities, it definitely a place to visit at all times of the day to eat, play games, partake in events, and hangout with friends. If you're not a regular here, visit the website to see the calendar of events. The marketing team really tries to endorse creative activities to keep patrons coming back. There are a variety of slot games to play. As you know, Kentucky gaming is linked to Historical Horse racing, so the machines mimic the Vegas experience. Also, there are no table games offered. Fridays and Saturdays are usually the busiest days and it's definitely a party scene with a rotating roster of DJ's. Sundays are more laid back and focus on sporting activities. Mondays host a variety of FreePlay opportunities. Tuesdays have opportunities to win a tasty meal. Wednesday FreePlay incentive opportunity for Winner Circle card holders. Thursdays provide a special incentives for patrons that are 55 and older. They receive a discounted meal and an opportunity to earn more FreePlay. I didn't know Lexington had its own casino but it was a pleasant surprise. It's located in an isolated area but the views are great! They do strictly enforce ID verification which I appreciate, and their promotions are pretty generous. I don't think they have card games, I've only seen slots which are mainly why I come here. However, be aware these machines are super tight. I used to go to other much bigger casinos out of state and the majority of time I'd at least keep my money and end even... here? We've spent hundreds with nothing back. I also haven't seen anyone hitting a jackpot next to me or even away while playing, and we play for hours and multiple machines. It is expected since they're smaller but it's a bummer. Their music and food is great though. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10 read more

The police raided Redmile swat team style, made everyone leave and said gambling is not legal in the state of Kentucky.They were closed for almost a month then opened back up like it never happened. Every since that happened I've lost. It's impossible to win there. I will go buy a drink and before I can finish my drink I've already lost $100. I don't know if the government wanted more money from the "illegal" gambling site and that's why nobody wins anymore or what. If you decide to go, don't take more than you can afford to lose because you will lose! I still enjoy going, it's the only thing I know to do around Lexington. I go at least once a week. I don't know that it is fair for me to leave a review for this place. We are new to the area, and are quite familiar with Las Vegas, and Hollywood Casino, as well as some other higher in gaming facilities. To me, this place was a bit underwhelming, very clean very bright, the energy is good, the vibe is good. The ambience is great. Overall, I would recommend. As long as you're not looking to be blown away. If you have been to Las Vegas or to any other large casino brand, this place is not going to feel right to you. At least it didn't for me. But if sports betting or horse racing is your thing this is 100% the place to be. Again I wouldn't not recommend it. But if you are thinking, it's gonna be similar to other places that you've been outside of Lexington, you are going to be mistaken. read more

It is what it is. An OTB for me. Not expecting a Vegas experience. Bartender Jill & all of the staff in the horse book & Manda & staff in the new Sportsbook are fabulous. The rest of the people don't have a clue what is going on in the casino rewards center. I had three ladies on different occasions give me the run- around cuz they had no clue either. One lady kept spelling my name wrong on the players card & argued w/ me about the spelling of my own name. My word! The casino needs ONE players card for everything, slots, horses & sports, but it's owned separately. It would be more convenient to get the separate players cards in one spot then. Also they can't issue you a new players card in the sportsbook. I have a Caesars players card already, but with my id they still cannot pull it up to give me credit. Also you can bet horses on the machine in the Sportsbook, but you have to walk upstairs to cash your ticket & vice versa. Like why can't I cash everything at one spot? Unreal. Five stars for the food believe it or not. I highly recommend the Fried Ravioli, Chicken Salad BLT Sandwich is probably the best I have ever had, Grilled Chicken Sandwich & their specials up in the Horse book. In the Sportsbook, the Shrimp tacos are delish!! The Tator Tots are good, but the sliders are not worth it. Might as well get a burger somewhere. The restaurant in the middle has good quesadillas & Buffalo Chicken. If it wasn't for the staff in the rewards area & lack of common sense, organization this is a 5 star spot just don't go comparing it to Vegas. A lot of my friends have won on the slots. C'mon Lexington, don't insult our intelligence saying that these aren't slot machines!?! We came here when they first opened and returned on 1/4/25 to see that it had doubled in size and added sports betting. The main reason we went was because one of my favorite bands was playing, "Unofficial High Five". When this place first opened, they had a great venue for a band with plenty of tables and a big dance floor. Now that the sports betting area has taken all of that, there is a very very tiny section for the band with barely any room to dance, and I think I counted four tables? How ridiculous Red Mile! What a super fun little casino here in Lexington! Lots of new style slot machine with tons of different themes, a loaded bar and a restaurant. Really fun place to spend some hard earned money! While I did not go here for the gambling I had a great time celebrating someone's retirement party here. The event space was the perfect size for about 50 people. The bar located right next to the dance floor and the selection was pretty decent. The staff was quick to bring out fresh food right when the dishes were empty. The management needs to be replaced. This casino iz making so much money that the management doesn't care about anything. They have promotions that you can register for, but their audio throuout the casino is so bad that players can't hear their name called. And they don't even use their tv monitors to show the winners in the multiple rooms where slot machines are located. I love this race track! This was my second race here in June and had a really great time. I go for flat track racing. This track has everything. Lots of vendors, food, in door and outdoor eating, bars in door and out door. Also gambling. The prices are really high so be prepared. They don't allow coolers. The bathrooms are inside, air conditioned and really clean. They do offer several different types of seating. The private boxes are the most expensive but that's the best seats to have honestly. The stadium seating is standard. Those little cramped seats. They do a large walkway between the stadium seating and the box sears where you can stand and watch the race which is nice. Stadium seating is covered also. It's just a really nice track. Probably my favorite! Go check it out! read more

First of all,I have been to RM many times. I always go with my best friend And most of the time We have a great time. AND almost EVERYTIME we leave with way less money than we came with. No worries though because I love the atmosphere and especially the bartenders. Well here is my problem, when we enter they check ID and take a picture of you with your ID before entering. So we went in, pick our machine, pull an extra chair up(like we always do) put money in it and we always take turns spinning. Well after about $400 lost we won a jackpot. The staff came over to the machine, took my ID and Social Security card, we all walked to the cashier so we could collect our money. Well they come out and tell me my ID is expired so they can not pay me until I come back with valid ID. Hmmmm? Ok Red Mile, you let me in with this same ID, you let me spend my hard earned money with said ID, but when I win a jackpot this ID isn't good enough???!!! Well this seems like a bit of a double standard. Right??? So I'm livid but we kept our cool and my friend got her ID out so she could just collect it in her name instead but they were not having that at all smh. Now remember, we both spin and sit at the same machine, we both put money in it but they would not do that. They kept telling ME to go get a valid ID at the dmv and they will give me the money. . We are In The middle of this COVID pandemic and probably half the people in there everyday have expired ID's and it's totally ok with Red Mile as long as they don't have to pay any money to YOU. So after going round and round with some young lady who says she is a manager but looks like she just came from a Marlyn Manson mosh pit, she keeps giving me some generic response over and over " I'm sorry Ms. but we can not pay you without a valid ID" I asked her to send HER manager over. So here comes some guy with an accent and a mask hanging off of his chin who seems to think he can outsmart me and convince me that it is totally fair for them to accept my money with my expired ID but won't pay me if I win. I went round and round with this person too. It got me no where but sent out the door with some little pink receipt saying I won and I can have my money when I get a valid ID. Then he calls security to escort me out because I began to put their little secret out to everyone in their. He didn't like that too much. I guess he wouldn't smh. Oh and I almost forgot!!!!! My ID expired October 13 2020. I won a jack pot in November 17, 2020 abd I was paid my money and I went on merry little way. So why Mr Manager and Ms mosh Pit assistant mgr was I paid back in November but you want to pretend like that didn't happen??? When I bring this up to you two you change the subject?! It's ok. You guys are going to have some answering to do to a lot of people! I have been on the phone for 2 days making sure of that.. Don't worry, I will never set foot in your shit-hole establishment again. And I AM spreading the word about how you treat your gamblers in that dump. So listen up people, make sure your ID isn't expired or they will treat u like shit if you win. Fire the decorator. This place is not what i expected or hoped for. The bar is so cheap and cheesy. The lights are too bright. There's no nice seating areas at all or artwork. They should've taken a hard look at the Winners Circle off-track betting in Indianapolis who features a great bar, dining room and classy atmosphere. They also have a VIP room with high back chairs and gourmet dining options in Indy...Why not here? Off track betting can be done in a classy way. I'm really disappointed and this is a downgrade from The Keeneland experience. The slots are one thing but for off track betting, the venue should be so much nicer as far as decor, amenities and atmosphere. read more

Red Mile has been transformed within the last decade from a place with lame quarterhorse racing, to a pseudo-casino (featuring "instant racing games" instead of slot machines but no table games) with lame quarterhorse racing. I don't have any pictures of the casino, which is ironic because every time I've been there in the last 3-4 years that's all I've done, but on one of my most recent trips I wanted to show my boyfriend what it used to be like. If it's any consolation, they've made the track and betting areas much nicer than they used to be, so it's not such a 'night and day' difference between here and Keeneland (although there is still no comparison). Now the space has a buffet/restaurant, live music sometimes, and a centrally located bar. They still host weddings and events at the adjacent round barn. All in all, it's a great entertainment option for visitors and locals alike. They're promotions and marketing are on point, and I always get excited when I set foot in the door. read more

Wonderful. Great first time. Cody and Nathan (bartenders) were so accommodating and full of great conversation. I really felt respected as a customer. They made my night so entertaining. They are an asset to The Red Mile's customer service . The two cashiers at the ATB (I wish I got their names) were also very helpful and professional. I had never bet on horses before and they took the time to explain the bet options to me. Again, great service, really. The place is nice and clean. The food is basic but adequate and not expensive. The machines are clean and there is a good variety of games. No table games or table simulators. Went today to place our Derby bets! It was SUUUUPER packed. Staff was very friendly, helpful and fast. After we got our bets in we went downstairs and hit up the slots for a little bit. Great fun even though I lost 20 bucks. Hubby won 15 so not bad! Very fun, inviting atmosphere. I didn't try any of the food or drinks but, hopefully I'll get around to doing that next time and will update my review then. This is definitely a site to see from a far. In fact, that's how my husband and I stumbled in this place. As we were driving home from dinner we saw the flashy red lights outside and we had to explore. We are no gamblers, but we love a good deal. This is a facility where you can (apparently) bet or horse races, drink, eat and play a slot machine or two. Everything was clean and cool and very reminiscent of Horseshoe in Indiana. I am no slot machine aficionado, or horse racing for that fact.. but we got some good fun out of our free $20. So, I'm rating this on the slot machines, rather than the race track. First, let's get this out of the way----all of the employees that I ran into were the sweetest, best people. That said, I love slot machines. Supposedly slots are illegal in KY, so they've ramshackled together slot machines that I've never seen elsewhere. They are glitchy and freeze often. Somehow they run on Windows? I'm not really sure how that works....but, when one of the machines froze, an attendant had to come and rest the machine, and it restarted like an old computer on Windows '98. It said "now restarting windows." So odd. The games were not fun, slow, and didn't pay well. Granted, it's the only slot casino around, but don't get your hopes up. read more

We had never been to The Red Mile. So one day when we were visiting nearby we decided to drop in and see what it was all about. We found out quickly it is a slot machine heaven for anyone that likes to play slots. When you first walk in tell the person up front that it is your first time. You fill out a form and then you get a card with $5 credit to use in the slots since they do not take coins. Then you can play all you want. Don't expect to win as the odds are certainly not in your favor but, you can have lots of fun and the staff is most friendly.
