Value for money: 4 Cleanliness: 4 Food Quality: 5 Customer Service: 4 Look and Feel (Ambiance): 4 Thank you, Come Again?: 4 Love me some Ben & Jerry's! This location is super convenient--just a short walk from the Residence Inn Marriott in Galveston, which makes it a perfect stop for an evening sweet treat. They had all the classic Ben & Jerry's favorites like Phish Food, Cherry Garcia, and Strawberry Cheesecake, which is always a win for longtime fans. I went with the Tonight Dough--a combo of caramel and chocolate ice creams swirled with chocolate cookie bits, chocolate chip cookie dough, and peanut butter cookie dough. It was tasty and hit the sweet tooth. A kids scoop was $5.99, which is a bit pricey, but the flavor made it worth it. I didn't see any indoor seating during my visit, so it's more of a grab-and-go setup, but the service was quick and friendly. If you're staying nearby or just craving something sweet, this Ben & Jerry's is a great stop.

Just an ice cream shop that sells Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Nothing spectacular. Staff seemed kind of annoyed that people were in there wanting ice cream. There are a few tables inside to sit at. They had bottled water in a bin with ice over it to keep it cool for sale.

April 26, 2024 I love this ice cream... so, I can't say WHY I've never stopped in when I've lived in Galveston for 11 years!!! I'm sorry, Ben-Jerry. Trivia: These 2 Vermont guys took a $5 correspondence class on making ice cream in 1978... then opened their first shop in a renovated station! MOO!! They are active in the community and support many worthwhile causes locally and nationwide. They strive to NOT leave a carbon footprint and support the cows and farmers that help this company make delicious ice cream Today, I tried cookie dough and cherry garcia... both great

Horrible service will never come back came in to find out if they can do my fav as a milkshake and the could but I left cause from the time I walked in can not greeted it was down hill I order then after she slammed the display door open I walked out and spent money next door and the sad thing is I was so happy to get the shake I was going to leave a big tip like I always doo the need to refresh there staff

No matter how many ice cream shops pop up, Ben & Jerry's is always such a treat! I come to this location often when in the area, but the last few times, I've found service to be absolutely rude, slow, and sloppy. The youngsters just take very little pride in their work ethic. I went last night and while the two employees were possibly overwhelmed, the male in particular was rude as he made a smart-alec response to a customer about hot fudge over ice cream saying something along the lines of "duh, it's going to melt" They don't allow customers to use their restroom, and redirect you to the pizza place next door.

We came in about 20 minutes from closing. Fiance ordered a large cup and I ordered a small cup. These scoops were huge! I thought he was crazy for even getting a large cup. For the non-dairy people like me, They had a delicious strawberry marshmellow flavor that highly recommend over the non dairy chocolate chip cookie dough. I felt the cookie dough one was a little too sweet while the strawberry marshmallow flavor was just perfect. Staff was very polite and we virtually had no wait in line when we walked in.

This is the worst Ben and Jerry scoop shop I have been to. I verified online thay had the scoop shop exclusive flavor of cookies and cream and I was happy when I saw it on the menu when I walked in the store and then it went downhill. As soon as we walked there were workers in the back just sitting in view of the customers. They were sitting on their phones and chatting. I made eye contact one, she got up, and then went right back to sitting talking to fellow workers. There is also a bell on the door so they can hear when someone comes in and more people came in after us. A worker came back in the store from outside and had to get them moving to help us after a 4 minute wait. I asked if they had cookies and cream but they did not have the ice cream. They were annoyed that I needed to think after not having an ice cream that was on the menu board. I picked a different flavor and the ice cream was yummy. Overall I was very disappointed with this scoop shop and do not plan to return.

I got a t-shirt too that I wore for years until it was ultimately retired. I actually wrote a Yelp review about it that I deleted. In it, I said "The smell of the waffle cones filled the place with smiles and enjoyment. I knew I wanted a waffle cone." What a terrible critic. He will never be Yelp Elite. I haven't been back to Hey Mikey's since then, just because I haven't really been back to Galveston in some time, but my memories of the unique ice cream flavors and toppings remained. Heading back to Galveston for a cruise, I wanted to try and make a stop there again for nostalgia's sake. Instead of heading to the Airbnb, my girlfriend and I drove straight to Hey Mikey's as our first stop in Galveston. We got there around 8:45 pm, which was 15 minutes before they closed (our fault). This is no diss to Hey Mikey's, but almost everything else on The Strand on a Thursday night closes way too early, so it felt like everyone was at Hey Mikey's. The line was extensive in front of us and behind us even after it closed. After waiting through the line for quite some time, I got a waffle cone with their cereal milk ice cream, which had Fruity Pebbles in it, topped with Lucky Charms. They gave it to me with a temperature-changing plastic spoon that turned from yellow to purple when cold. The ice cream was sensational. What an incredible flavor. The only downside was the waffle cone being a little stale, but I fault that to it being a waffle cone ordered right at closing time. The next night, I returned with my cousins and ordered a cup of cereal milk ice cream with Cocoa Puffs as the topping instead. Fantastic stuff. Once again, being there too close to closing meant we had to wait, and we didn't get our ice cream until 9:30, a full 30 minutes after they closed. It was nice that they still served us though! One thing I did notice, which I don't know if it's a normal thing, is that since Hey Mikey's is the only ice cream shop open past 8 o'clock on most weeknights, they seem to get a lot of foot traffic after that time. Their menu is pretty large in its offerings. If it were just scoops of ice cream, the line would move fast, but so many people were ordering shakes, which are a lot more labor-intensive and removed a staff member from their assembly line to focus on the shake. I don't have any advice on how they could easily move the line in the later hours of the night, but man, those kids are working their butts off for everyone to get their late-night sweet treat. Hey Mikey's, you are just as good as I remember.

I've been visiting since I was a little girl, and coming back reminded me exactly why it's such a staple on the Strand. This place has been part of Galveston for generations, and it still delivers that same magic. It's always busy, always full of energy, and there's truly something here for everyone. The candy shop alone is worth the stop--rows of old-fashioned sweets, fresh confections, and that nostalgic atmosphere you just don't find anymore. The divinity is divine, and the ice cream is just as good as I remembered. I had the lemon custard (so good!), my brother got a scoop of chocolate on a cone, and my friend ordered cinnamon. My mom insisted she didn't want anything...until she tried my friend's cinnamon. She loved it so much she immediately went and got her own, which says everything. And for $5 a scoop, two could easily share. This is one of those must-stop places when you're on the Island. Whether you're there for the ice cream, the candy, or just the experience, it never disappoints. A+.

It felt kind of cluttered. I expect they must have a patio setup on nicer days, but on this day all that equipment was taking up all the space right inside the front entrance. I'm not much on sweets. I can be talked into an interesting cookie, but this was not the place I expected and I don't think they sold cookies or interesting milk flavors from what I could tell. They do sell sketchy looking hot dogs and pizza. I'm not sure who orders that. It seems like they specialize in ice cream. I tried one flavor and it was pretty sweet for me. I'm not much on sweets so that's not hard to do for me. I stood around letting my wife pick her flavor. I would have waited outside given how cramped the space felt, but it was pouring rain.
