I really wanted to like this place. I never thought I'd see one in person!! Place was clean. Workers were polite college students. They even gave us samples when we asked. Unfortunately our strawberry cheesecake milkshake was more like flavored juice. There was no thickness to it. It really wasn't a milkshake at all. What a shame

I love the signature smell of Ben & Jerry's as soon as you walk in: the warmth of the waffle cone, the stickiness of the cream-scent area - overall a sweet aroma that brings a smile of memories! It's been years since I've paid a visit to B&J and wanted to try so much - the shakes, the non-dairy options, the cones! I went with a traditional small cup (you can pick up to two flavors!) since I saw so many folks walking around with their cups around the shopping area and wanted to join in on the sweetness! After sampling a few flavours from the patient staff, I went with the limited edition "marshmallow sky" and toasted s'mores. I didn't see the other display until later but that's probably for the better haha there's so many to choose from!! I love ice cream and the staff was friendly too. Give a few tips for tuition as well while you're there! There's a variety of sitting spots outside so it's nice to lick away the moment outside in the pleasant weather. Great way to cool down too!

We can''t go wrong with a cone and a cup to end a nice day on Kiawah Island. The server was amazing and offered samples when I couldn't decide. There is a beautiful green area just outside with lots of benches and places to sit and enjoy your treat. We were so glad we timed it right because as we were finishing up the line was down the street!

Stopped at Ben & Jerry's for a little dessert after dinner. Neither the experience, nor the ice cream met my low expectations. Let's start with service: they were very clearly understaffed and moved painfully slowly. When I walked in, there were about four parties ahead of me in line. Despite only having a few people ahead of me, it somehow it took at least 10-15 minutes to get to place my order. Once I finally got to the counter, there was no real greeting, just a blank face staring at me and a dull "have you been helped yet." By the time I left, the line was way out the door. Now for the ice cream: I ordered the Coconut Seven Layer Bar in a waffle cone. This flavor was awful. It was disgustingly sweet, and the coconut flavor was barely noticeable through the overpowering butterscotch swirls. So gross! Most annoying was the fact that I paid $7 for a TINY scoop with a completely hollow waffle cone. Check out my photos... there is nothing under that teeny little scoop on the top. Would've rather gone to Harris Teeter next door and got a pint of something better for half the price if I would've known.

Ben & Jerry's at Freshfields is a great place to stop for quality ice cream on a hot day or just about any day. The location is very convenient when you are shopping or just passing by. The staff here is very patient when you are making your order and will go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need for your order. This Ben & Jerry's is well worth a visit.

I struggled between 2-3 Stars. The ice cream was great, and because the employees seemed to care less about serving the clients, I decided not to have them make a milkshake. The kids ate some great icecream, I decided to walk away and grab something from someone else. It baffles me that restaurants forget their servers are almost as important as their food.

Freshfields Kiawah Island I ordered a double chocolate with a chocolate cone and the price was 1166 which I thought was expensive.

Their response to this perfect setup is to be open for about 15 hours a week. Weekends, when people are in motion coming and going? Nope - closed. Evenings? Closed. Their most recent timetable was something like Tuesday through Friday, 10-2:30. Truthfully, though, it doesn't really matter -- they'll just close early if they feel like it. It's not at all unusual to see a sign that says "Closing at 1:30 today", so I don't recommend aiming for "last call." They have such a wonderful asset -- a nostalgic ice cream counter -- and are tragically disrespecting it. This used to be an adorable lunch spot and ice cream parlor, and the business is now a shell of what it once was. Rather than redo their menu board, though, they have simply covered up all of the grill items they used to serve with painter's tape -- an almost ironic echo to a time before complete apathy set in. It's sad. I mean, nowhere near as sad as the faces of little kids who had the unbelievable audacity to expect that they could get ice cream on a Saturday, but still pretty sad.

Anyone who's stayed on either Seabrook or Kiawah Island is most likely intimately familiar with this Harris Teeter. On many visits, we've found this store to be relatively well-stocked. However, the week before Easter was definitely a busy one for this store, and they were cleaned out of a lot of their typical offerings. For example, their take-and-bake pizzas are an easy and decent dinner after a day at the beach, but to our surprise, there were none left when we stopped in around 5 PM on a Wednesday. I'm confident that this not a regular occurrence - but something to note if you're visiting during the busy season. I will echo other reviewers that mentioned narrow aisles and an interesting layout. This store is definitely on the smaller side, and can feel crowded when there's multiple people in one aisle. One way to avoid this is shopping outside of peak hours ... early in the morning our later at night. The cashiers are mostly friendly and always fast. If you come from a state with Kroger or Fry's instead of Harris Teeter, rest assured that you can still input your phone number for your shopper rewards. Another positive is that I haven't noticed a difference in prices from this store and non-touristy grocery stores. Again, it does the trick for being the only grocery store at Freshfields. However, it could certainly use a little love and a few updates.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience genuinely warrants one…read more We ordered five pizzas well in advance for our final evening on the island. When we arrived at the agreed pickup time, the restaurant had somehow lost the order entirely. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and working toward a solution, the staff immediately made it feel as though we were somehow responsible for their error. The manager offered no meaningful solution, no accommodation, and no apparent sense of urgency despite the obvious impact. On an island where dining options are extremely limited, losing a large pre-ordered meal isn't a minor inconvenience--it effectively ruined our last dinner. What was particularly disappointing was the interaction itself. The person at the front desk, who appeared to be the same individual involved throughout the conversation, was dismissive rather than helpful. A simple apology, ownership of the mistake, or any reasonable attempt to make things right would have gone a long way. Instead, we were left feeling inconvenienced by their mistake. Everyone makes errors. What defines a business is how it responds when those errors occur. In this case, there was no accountability, no flexibility, and no customer service to speak of. I can't comment on the food because we never got the opportunity to eat it. Based on the experience alone, I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on this restaurant for any order, especially one that matters.
