No pain medication helped, and it was clear the tooth was badly infected. First thing Monday morning, I searched for dental offices open on holiday (Martin Luther King), and his office was the closest available. From the very first moment, I felt taken care of. Rosa at the front desk was incredibly kind and compassionate, she truly understood my situation and welcomed me in immediately. The entire experience was exceptional. I felt no pain from the injections and no pain during the extraction itself. I honestly couldn't believe it. At one point I even asked, "Is it all done?" -- and when he said "Yes," I was so relieved I started laughing. The tooth was severely infected, and extraction was the only option, but the process was completely smooth and stress-free. This office delivers professionalism, compassion, skill, and true patient care. I strongly recommend Dr. Ohanesian and his team to anyone looking for excellent dental care, especially in an emergency situation. You will be in the best hands.

Dentist tells you in advance what insurance will cover, kinda. Got a great tooth cleaning. Repaired a tooth with excellent results. Bad: got a bill from Clovis Crossing then got a check from my insurance so I had to make another visit to give CC my insurance check. Got several calls from CC (and I keep getting them) asking to pay my bill. I never had to physically pay a bill with my previous dentist. Dentist recommended treatments that were over $100. I felt like it was a scare tactic. I didn't feel those recommendations were necessary. Hygienist numbed my whole mouth for the cleaning. Never had that done before. I was desperate to get my tooth repaired so my co-worker recommended CC. I'll probably do one more cleaning then look for another dentist.

Very quickly, they started calling to cancel my appointments until eventually I came in one time and they said sorry you've missed too many appointments and we don't want to accept you anymore as a patient. They had entirely faked all the paperwork, giving me calls and then on paper making it seem like I didn't show up. They seem to be upset that they accept certain insurances and don't wanna pay out on it. Cheap and immoral.

I called back again. It has been two weeks since I called and I never called back. Ended up going back to a previous dentist who got me in right away and I will post a review on them. This review is not for their dental service, but the fact that their office staff doesn't even take the time to ask why are you calling and is there anything we can help you with. After explaining that a crown is needed he got to work preparing the tooth to accept the crown. Assisted by a wonderful young lady Ayannah they numbed me up and before I knew it Ayannah was making a temporary crown right there next to me. After a few adjustments she glued the temp in place like she's been doing it for 20 years. Everyone who worked on me today was very professional and made me feel as if I was in the best hands. After today I know Dr Kawano and his awesome assistants like Ayannah and his Son Derek (who shares the practice) are at the top of their field. Crazy Bernie is now a HUGE fan of Kawano Dental!!!

We have had 3 crowns done on different appointments and the procedure was so smooth each time and everything is done in less than 2 hours. No having to return on a different day to put the crown in. We do regular cleanings 3x a year, a little more than most folks but being senior citizens we want to protect our teeth and gums and avoid dentures this late in life. Dr. Ray's dental hygienist, Melissa is the best we have ever had in terms of her thoroughness and the overall treatment. Matter of fact, the entire staff including Kate, Jasmine, Kelly, etc make going to the dentist unstressful, for sure. I was told to bring my card, then they refused a refund and told me they applied it to an unrelated insurance matter. My insurance confirmed the office must follow up directly, but they haven't. They never used to require deposits, and the attitude I encountered was disappointing and unlike past experiences. Sadly, my long-standing relationship with this office has ended over this issue. Update: the root canal was quoted 2.5 hours to which you have to pay to get your crown same day (wow - should come with the procedure seeing as it's their standard process. They're not doing anything special), they quoted 2.5 hours. My new dentist had me in and out in exactly 1 hour. The crown gets placed today and it will take 15 minutes for a total of 1.25 hours vs Clovis Family dental needing 2.5 hours.

When he retired, I went to Dr. Malan again... The father of this Dr. Malan. And when he retired... I guess you have figured it out by now. :) I have found that everyone here, from the people in the front office, through the wonderful hygienist, to Dr. Malan himself, have been extremely kind, helpful, caring, and all-around great folks. I've always felt good about coming here, and I'm one of those people that, well, is not a good dental patient. Let's just leave it at that. :-) A couple of times, when I've had a bit of a dental emergency, they have bent over backwards to help me get my problem taken care of. I really really appreciate that. I know a lot of people that love their dentist, and wouldn't consider going any place else. I get that... That's how I feel about this, Dr. Malan. I sat there listening to the front desk calling several other patients to reschedule their appointments last-minute, which signaled total office disarray. Making matters worse, the dentist didn't even show up to the building until 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I was there for a root canal and crown consultation. After the exam, they quoted my out-of-pocket cost--after insurance--at nearly $2.500. The number felt extremely inflated, so I went to another dentist an hour later for a second opinion. Using the exact same insurance for the exact same root canal and crown, the second dentist quoted me $1,700 less than this office. It is shocking that they would try to overcharge a patient by that much. Between the blatant price-gouging and the total lack of respect for patients' time, I will never step foot in this office again. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The team was amazing throughout the entire process and reassured me while the tooth was being pulled out. It was a difficult process and it took a while to heal. The surgeon followed up with me by calling the next day and also providing plenty of meds and great post op instructions. I've opted out of the implant but really appreciated the excellent care.
