A last horrah indeed. Despite one negative experience, I have to give James and his team props for providing me with one of the best breakfast experiences Fresno had to offer in terms of food. That hollandaise sauce is one to remember and I'd pay big money to buy it if it were bottled up. Devin has served me many times in the past and she's always such a fun person to talk to. One of the best servers here that had been here for a long period of time that knows how to run a crazy show while running around. The Clapton. Simple. Yet perfect. I wish I could've explored the menu more but as a Taurus I had to keep my favorite the favorite. Best of luck to the staff and James himself. I hope this isn't my last time having this Benedict. Benediction absolutely delivered an incredible breakfast experience. The food was outstanding, especially the banana pancake and the thick-cut wheat bread, which was unlike anything I've had anywhere else. I also tried the cinnamon roll, and it's a must-order. Truly delicious. The decor and atmosphere are fantastic. Funky, fun, and full of personality. It's a hip, trendy spot that still feels warm and inviting. Service was good, and the overall vibe really adds to the experience. They use a QR code menu, which I actually think is a cool idea, but the cell signal was weak, so I ended up using a paper printout. Not a big deal, but having a couple of backup menus available would make things smoother. My only small wish: I'd love to see fountain sodas on the menu. From decor of old vhs cases lining the bar, the amazing cds lining the wall, every coffee served in a unique mug, hardly getting same one from 1 visit to the next, to the amazing homemade syrups, jams and sauces, you felt the love and care that was put into this amazing restaurant. For Father's Day I wanted to enjoy a great brunch with the family and Benaddiction was the spot for us. Our waiter was awesome, kind, and knew how to interact the family to keep them going. We enjoyed our food but most of all that freshly squeezed orange juice was the best!!!! My friend designed beautiful T-shirts to take my mom to see Pitbull so I wanted to treat her to a delicious meal. This was her first time. I've been in an eggs benedict phase recently - obsessed honestly. I've been trying it at all my normal go-to breakfast spots and finally decided I needed to come to Benaddiction. Service with pretty quick and the place looks so fun, I really enjoy the breakfast spots that lean into their theme. Pictures on their online menu are really helpful. I ended up with the Kiss with a Fist and hash. I like that you can order a half order. I am always too stuffed when I finish my breakfast but this amount was perfect! Met up with some friend while in town visiting and when looking for a brunch spot to try out, stumbled upon Benaddiction and from the reviews and pictures knew we had to try it! Easy parking, 20 minute wait on a Sunday and super friendly staff. Initially planned to sit inside but with two babies and limited space inside for high chairs they were able to accommodate us on their patio and plenty of heaters to keep us warm. Some dishes we tried were the get rhythm plate with scrambled eggs, sausage, toast and fruit, tributes to share, blazing glory Benedict, and midnight toker Benedict. A couple of us also tried the hot chocolate, I ended up getting seconds - so so good! Overall everyone was happy with their meals, the hollandaise is a bit more acidic/ vinegary than we were use to but everything was still delicious. From the moment my boyfriend and I walked in until we got our food was 50 minutes. People around us had left after ordering because the wait was so bad, but we were determined to stick it out, incredibly sticky table to be damned. When our Toker and Hotel California Benedict's finally arrived, they were room temperature to warm ish at best, the English muffin was stale, and a portion of my avocado still had the outside skin. I was really saddened by this experience as I was a regular at the old Bullard and Marks location and I still love the atmosphere and cool menu this place has to offer, just no longer worth the wait and price for me EDIT: The owner explained incident and offered full refund, which was greatly appreciated. The theme/decor is music, more specifically "retro" from all of the old album covers, posters, and cassette tapes. Even the QR code for the menu is on a CD cover. The whole menu sounds pretty appetizing. We ate at the old location on Bullard/Marks back in the day a few times, so I was a little familiar with the food. Our table shared an order of "Tributes," similar to beignets. Those deep fried sweet Hawaiian rolls make a delicious beginning or ending to your meal. I ordered the "Hotel California," which was a benedict with chorizo hash, avocado, fried eggs, and blackened aioli on top of English muffins. Flavor was good, but all the textures were the same softness. I think I needed a crispy chorizo hash, harder fried eggs, or a more toasted muffin. Just omething to give it a crunch. Same thing with the fries. They were heavily seasoned, so flavor was there, but not crispy at all. I would ask for well done fries next time or get extra crispy hash browns instead. Other entrees ordered were the "If I had a million dollars" which was roasted then fried potatoes with their bomb bacon gravy and cheese, and the "Lowrider," a big chorizo breakfast burrito that my husband loved. There was also the "Heartbreaker" breakfast sandwich that had ham, pulled pork, bacon, and fried egg, all on a grilled cheese sandwich! That was tasty. I always come out here whenever I come out to Fresno. We were a party a 5 and had the honor of being served by Dallas. We got here on a Sunday around 9am and it was busy, but after a quick 10-minute wait we were seated. Every brunch pro knows, when there's a wait to be seated that's when you scope the menu and get order ready. I ordered the hotel California Benedict, which was 100% shareable, and topped with chorizo hash with avocado, fried eggs, and blackened aioli all on a grilled english muffin. To say it was delicious would be an understatement! The spicy chorizo paired with creamy aioli worked perfectly, but then to add a runny eggs... hubba hubba! To the owner: James, there is a lot of negative attention that your responses to customers is getting on social media. Please don't deter people by taking the bait. Most people will ignore a random negative review, but will avoid a restaurant at all costs if they think the owner is rude. You could easily drown out that noise by responding more to the positive review and showing them another side of you, as all you respond to are negative reviews. We ordered an omelette (not sure what is was called; ham, mushrooms, spinach inside?) w/ with hash browns and the grilled tomato-pesto sandwich with a cup of tomato basil soup. And a chocolate milkshake. This is going to be a somewhat picky order, so bear with me. The pickiness is not out of malice. The server seemed well intentioned. Having said that, service seemed MIA most of the time. There was only one other table when we arrived and they had finished eating. So I'm not exactly sure why the server wasn't more attentive. He seemed to mean well but didn't come across as polished even when we did see him, which was very seldom. ETA: oh, please don't take customer's tips from the table while the customers are still sitting at the table! My friend ordered the omelette which looked very tasty but seemed not to taste as good as it looked. It needed salt even after he put salt and pepper on it. And the fillings didn't seem to be seasoned either. The color of the egg looked a delicious moist yellow without being overcooked, and the portion size was large. I only had a bite, but I tend to agree that it looked better than it tasted. The hash browns it came with were apparently deep fried? My friend and I agreed that we would have preferred traditional hash browns. There was something written on the wall about how if a customer didn't like the way the food was prepared, they could ask to have it remade, and the staff would gladly remake it. (That's a paraphrase.). In all fairness, we never asked... The milkshake was just fine, imo. The grilled tomato basil sandwich was disappointing. The bread was too thin to hold up against the kind of wet ingredients of the filling. Also, the bread was rather greasy. I would have preferred fresh tomatoes to grilled tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. The pesto had a nice flavor. The tomato soup was also kind of greasy. It had a pool of oil floating on top of it which I kept trying to stir back in but which kept separating out. The flavor was a bit overly spicy and acidic for my tastes. I'm being extremely picky here. The texture was very good. The soup was the proper consistency (thin enough to still be considered soup and not a vegetable puree) and the soup had obviously been strained, which is a vast improvement of many of the tomato basil soups I've had in town. Oh, we also got a side of English muffin, which was also pretty greasy. The menu was hard to order from since the names of the dishes didn't reflect well what that dish actually was, imo. I rather dislike it when menus are written in such a way that it makes me work extra hard to even figure out what the dish is. It took a long time to order for this reason. Not a very user friendly menu, imo. I think the interior design, the service, and the food all could stand to be tightened up a bit. Obviously, this is just one (well, two) people's opinions. I came because of some online drama. I wanted to give support to the business owner who seemed so classy online in his responses to the drama. Will be back again, but probably not soon. Upon arrival it's a seat yourself restaurant so just go in look for spot and service comes relatively quickly. Restaurant is definitely a vibe! Chill, some really cool old album covers all over the walls as decor it's actually pretty dope. Music isn't tool loud which is nice when you're trying to enjoy some good convo with your party. Seating inside does feel a little tight but it's perfect for parties up to 4 anything bigger they do have patio seating that's pretty spacious and mostly covered with outdoor fans.
