My father has lived at Ashland Farm for 3 years. I live in Connecticut and other siblings are in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Gloucester. Once Dad moved in we had peace of mind that there was help available if he needed it, whether he was sick, or any need he had. It was a good move because we knew Dad didn't have to live alone and he could be around others. It took a while for him to get adjusted to the change in his life after leaving the family home of 55 years. Dad came to appreciate that he could get cooked meals served to him in the dining room. He likes the food and loves all the wait staff and enjoys chatting with them. My father is very friendly with anyone that works at Ashland even though he's not one to engage in the activities. He has made friends in the dining room and in the hallways. Monica, the current executive director, as well as Heather, the current sales director, have been very helpful in trying to help Dad size down as his money is being spent down. They have been very gracious and have not complained about all my father's questions, research, and the many apartment tours Heather has given him. My dad feels confident talking to the staff or the nursing team if he feels he has a need. The community is clean and well kept. They do offer rides and trips out of the building. Ashland has been very conscientious during the past 2 years with Covid-19, keeping our seniors safe. They are starting to renovate the rooms, so that's a plus. Ashland is conveniently located to 495 and 114, so it makes it easy to visit from CT, PA, and the North Shore. All in all we are happy that my father is living at Ashland Farm. read more

The environment at Ashland Farm is conducive to community. There are great activities with good participation and plenty of programs and games. They bring in musicians which is really fun. I love Yoga with Nancy - she is fantastic and the ice cream socials are great for meeting people and hearing their stories. The food is really good and Chef Darrell encourages all of us to tell him how he can make our dining experience even better. I love the scenic rides on Fridays and the trips to North Andover mall for groceries. I love going out to lunch and being taken to my Dr. appointments. read more

They are badly in need of help. There is a shortage of those needed to tend to the people in wheel chairs. I also feel that there should be someone at the service deck after 7:30 PM, prescriptions are still coming in and residents still have company and there's such a hassle with the locked door. Also the residents complain that the the food at the second seating is reheated and / or cold. The walking area around the building needs to be redone. A gentleman with a walker and prosthetic leg fell down a couple of weeks ago. Aside from the negatives, the people that are available to help and serve are sensitive to the needs of the residents, they all know everyone's names and do the best to make them feel at home. Activities are available and sufficient, the room I visit is comfortable and convenient. Get some more help, fix the broken asphalt and I'll change to a four star. Make the 2nd seating dining experience as good as the first seating and I'll up it to a five. I don't feel that my relative is neglected or mistreated, I feel confident leaving her in their care. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Ashland Farms!! Mom was apprehensive at first, wondering if she would regret leaving her condo. She moved in 3 wks ago (end of Jan) and every single day tells me how happy she is living there and it's a good thing she goes to exercises daily cause the food is so good, she's afraid she'll put in weight! The staff is so attentive to all her needs and wants. The first full day/night Mom was there, I was a bit nervous; like leaving your child off at college! Mom said that every one of the staff knew her by name and she really felt at home. As her daughter, I am SO RELIEVED that she is happy and safe and the whole staff is absolutely wonderful! It seems like Mom is 10 yrs younger! She has so much energy now with all the activities there! Any time I have a question/concern, they are on it immediately. The maintenance guy hung her flat tv on the wall and he was so nice. They can't do enough for the residents! We looked at many other assisted living places from Billerica to Salem to Haverhill. Ashland Farms just felt like Home!! And there is VERY LOW turnover in staff!! That is important! Mom has even called her friends to get them to move in there! It can't get much better!! I am so incredibly happy that Mom is living and THRIVING at Ashland Farms! read more

Expect to spend a lot of time monitoring many aspects of your relatives care. Management response is slow or non existent. Problems repeat themselves, care is extremely expensive. Some staff is great, some not so. Do your research. read more

My mother was a resident at Ashland farms for shot time. My sisters and I view a few places before we decided on Ashland farm. When we arrived at this facility, we knew this was the place for mom. When you first walk in, there is a beautiful staircase, all open concept with living rooms throughout the building for sitting areas. The staff is extremely personable and very professional. They made my mother feel very comfortable and safe. Which was a plus for us. We were even given cell phone numbers so that we could call at any time to check on my mom. Whenever we asked of anything it was done immediately. The decision to place one's parent is an extremely hard one to make. If it weren't for the staff at Ashland being who they are and showing how much they care I don't know how anyone could pass this place up. I gave them 5 stars because in the times I had been there I have never seen anything wrong, all I heard was friendly staff talking to patients and being very loving taking time to be a friend to an elderly person. The other thing I would like to highly state is the food there is extremely good and the dining area is really pretty and they make the patients feel like they are in a restaurant my hat goes off to all of you at Ashland and you are us very special to have been placed in that type of profession it takes a special person to do what you do.
