She was kind and patient with me, and encouraged me (gently) to push myself. Thanks, Kristen. Nurse Carole was among the hardest working staff members, and she was extremely helpful to me and my roommate. How she kept her cheerful demeanor for her entire shifts was a mystery. The facility's physician, Dr Elkrem, was careful and very pleasant every time we interacted. Several members of the facility's admin staff stood out for helping me and making me feel that my needs would be taken into account: the dietician, Jenny, head of PT, Kelly, and head of admissions, Jenny. Being in rehab is no fun, but these people made the challenging situation more than tolerable. And they got me ready to go home.

The longer ive been here and the better I started to feel I was able to finally get out of bed and use a wheelchair, eventually I used a walker and I was able to see what these people do for other people on a daily basis. It blew me away. I tucked tail and apologized to all the people I felt I had to apologize to and I tried to become a model patient. They let people come in with their dogs and a couple front office people bring theres in regularly, which I was super excited to learn because ive been able to have my dog visit any time I want to and I couldn't be more grateful for that. There's so many people I would like to say thank you too but id be here forever doing it but Alyssa, Lauren, Jen, Ellie, Aiesha, Jane, all the people in P/T and O/T and anybody else thats helped along the way THANK YOU. I don't think I would've gotten this far without your help. This facility offers a memory care unit of 20. These…read moreunfortunate souls are neglected. All day and all night. The staff place them in front of a TV and sit on their phones all day long. No one supervises them and only a few bother to check on the clients, except when begged for help or during meals. My mother was there for 3 months. I had to bring in extra care because her needs were not being met. They informed me at one point when Mom was becoming uncharacteristically agitated that she had not been given her meds for 3 days! We had to evacuate her to the nearby hospital emergency department where she was found to have a terrible UTI that had never been addressed by Concord Park. She very nearly died. After 4 days she was still not aware of her surroundings. We had to put her into rehab for a month to get her walking again and stabilize her meds. DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THEY TELL YOU DURING AN INTERVIEW. WHAT THEY SAY AND WHAT THEY DO ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR LOVED ONE DO NOT PUT THEM IN THIS HORRENDOUS FACILITY!

The best thing I can say about it is it is cheaper then anything in its class, that's why so many people who should be in assisted living or a nursing home are residents there.

Would never have imagined it possible to have so many negative experiences at "come & check us out"…read moremeals as we've had at Kennedy Meadows. Not just from one staff member, but from multiple who made it clear they couldn't care less what was going on w/ my mom's health, what I as her caregiver was going through, what we'd already gotten permission to do from other staff members, etc. Most unbelievably though, their maintenance person told me never to come back and that we would be trespassed (i.e., arrested) if we did because we ate too much at their lunches and told others we had negative experiences here. So if you only hear glowing things from the people you meet here, maybe that's why? I find myself surprised to be writing this when we had such a positive initial experience here, incl. from one of the people who was later extremely rude. Based on that early good experience, I was planning to put my mother here for a few days to give myself a respite & test the waters for a longer-term stay. Now I can't do that. There are so many easy ways staff could have handled things better. But if this is how they handle simple or unexpected lunch scenarios, how would they handle more important issues that come up with my mom living here? Maybe there is a reason why despite being open for years, Kennedy Meadows is still holding fancy meals to attract new residents when other nearby senior livings have years-long waitlists w/o these events. If you go to one of Kennedy Meadows' free meals after being invited & RSVP'ing, just know that: - they run out of food well before lunch ends so it's best to arrive early - they will not hold food for you for after the tour, so again go early - they monitor how much you eat & treat you like a thief if you eat "too much" - they apply their "rules" selectively to some guests & not others - they may mock you to your face, as one staff member did to me. Also, per one woman I overheard, the food at these meals is not what they offer residents on a regular basis. We are grateful for the couple employees who were professional & treated us nicely, and the kitchen staff who were great at serving meals, but that's not enough to outweigh the rudeness & open hostility from the activity, marketing, maintenance & other staff. Everyone is free to come to their own conclusions, but this very sadly was our experience. It's such a huge decision to move a loved one into a care home and it's easy to wonder if you did the right thing, if they're being properly cared for and treated well, are happy, etc. I hope everyone's loved one finds a place they trust and can rely on in their golden years, but I can no longer imagine that Kennedy Meadows could be such a place.
