I want to start by saying the food was definitely worth 5 stars. First time here and really impressed. So why the one-star rating? Well about half way through our meal, the table of four next to us got up and no one masked up to bus their dishes or hover next to our table. Then we noticed some patrons coming in and placing their orders at the counter and they weren't masked either. Then we realized the employees weren't masked. And there hadn't been the usual posted sign on the door requiring masks. Ok. I get it. Some people don't want to cover up, but this is a business and right now Oregon is under a mask mandate inside and outside in public places. So the expectation as a patron is that this business is following the rules in order to keep everyone safe. Didn't appreciate not knowing in advance that walking into this establishment could put us at risk. So I'm saying it here. read more

First time trying it was tonight via a Postmates order. I was actually pleasantly surprised, because a truly good burger is hard to find. I ordered the Ponderosa burger which has onion rings and BBQ sauce on it, and my partner ordered the Deschutes River Burger with pineapple and ham. We both really enjoyed the burgers. The patty was moist and portioned well, and the ingredients were properly stacked on the bun, so it did not fall apart when I picked it up. It had a good balance of crunch, sauce and flavor. Their hand cut fries were a little too salty but their signature sauce they serve to dip them in was really quite good. It was a unique sort of fry sauce, with almost a chipotle like spicy kick to it. I would definitely order it again. I didn't take a pic because I ate it all before putting it down. read more

Solid delicious burger. It was messy but overall kept it together. I tried the basic burger, all the components were tasty and the quality of the ingredients showed. Very filling, the people behind me split one burger which was delivered neatly cut in half, I think they had the right idea. Paulina Peak Chicken (without tomato) one of the BEST chicken sandwiches I have EVER HAD and that goes double for the gluten free bun! Sweet Potato Tots were cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. And they loaded my to go box with them. My friend & I made it a MUST to grab a burger from here when visiting. The first time we ate here I had the burger with the sauerkraut, caramelized onion & swiss cheese. Oh man, the burger meat they use is so delicious. Very juicy & definitely not a flimsy patty. The price is great for how much food you get & the quality. For 3 people it was a little over $30! Second time we ate here I got their Bend burger with bacon & cheese. Classic burger! Ugh,don't get me started on their fresh burger buns! They are so soft! You can tell they are fresh baked. Bug plus is their fries & onion rings are delicious! And my last qualifier of a great restaurant is the ranch. They've got really good ranch. read more

Burgers, hand cut fries and onion rings were on point. We had 3 different orders...Bend Burger, Pole Pedal Paddle Burger and Paulina Peak Chicken Sandwich. Here's the deal. We are hamburger affectionados. We weren't expecting it...hell we didn't even care or were looking to have this place impress us, but now we have to live with the fact that it's 7 hrs away from us. I really enjoy the chicken sandwiches and sweet potato tots here, the bloke thinks they have some of the best burgers in town - so why only three stars, you ask? We have been in 5 or 6 times now (we really do like the place!) and every single time it has taken so long to get our food that I think they must be sending someone out back to catch the cow. We're talking absolutely glacial, 45 min to an hour to get a couple of burgers and fries. We have never been in when the place was packed, either, we are talking about half capacity, with no line to order. Every time while we wait I swear we won't come back... and then I promptly forget in the face of all of that delicious goodness. Bottom line: Good food.
