This is sad. It's just a burger, so why does it seem so challenging? Ordered by phone because I wanted two burgers to go... Asked if they could cook it medium. Nope. All burgers are cooked well done. Why, you ask? Policy. So the only thing you're tasting on these burgers are the condiments because they cooked all the flavor out of the meat. This place always seems clean and the staff always seems awesome and on top of it. Those two things are already huge for me. We usually call in orders to go and everything is always fresh and ready on time, and never had an issue with a single order being messed up. Prices are a little higher than I'd normally like, but it's on par with the norm for this day and age, and for a place that's as clean and fresh as this, it seems worth it. I've been meaning to try this place for a while. Stopped in and ordered the special, a bacon cheeseburger, waffle fries and a drink for $12. When factoring in the size of the burger and portion of fries, a solid deal! Everything was cooked to order and came out fast. The burgers go on the grill as a small patty and are then smashed with a weight, a technique that results in some good char. The bun was really nice, as were the large pickles. The burger patty itself was alright, but a little under seasoned. I could always use more bacon. The fries were tasty and it's always nice to have fries straight from the fryer. The fry sauce was a tad sweet for me; ketchup ended up being the default dip for the fries, although the fries are pretty well flavored on their own. Overall, a quick, freshly prepared meal from a courteous staff. Not the best burger in Bend, but a solid choice if you're on the east side of town. read more

My review is based just on the burger. It's really GOOD! If you've been to an In and Out, this matches it! Freshly grilled, Semi charred patty, soft and toastie warm bun, like your high school girlfriend's, along with crisp old-school iceberg lettuce leaves, a nice slice of onion, the right pickles, garden fresh tomato slice. With the mayo etc. in the right places, wrapped so you can see all that goodness when you want to take your first bite. Like a burger diaper, so nothing leaks out! The fries are MezaMez. Needs a little work. But not a negative. Inside is a little sterile, clean, but like a hospital cafeteria. Charming, homey, inviting,....no. And where's the namesake? Lots of worn out movie photo repops that you've seen a million times (Abe Lincoln?, surf movie poster?, and of course, Audrey Hepburn?) But NOT ONE HUMPHREY BOGART Poster!!! He's BOGIE - right!?! What idiot decorated this place? (Or named it). We all loved Bogie, so why not put up his ten biggest movie posters. Or at least one lousy photo of him......OK, I'm finished ranting....just take down one stale old photo of who knows who, and put up A GOOD BOGIE POSTER! I'm a be conflicted on this review because in some ways the restaurant is pretty good. For example, inside is very nice and clean and it's nice to have a sit down restaurant. however, the food just isn't that tasty, or original. the patty is very bland and salty. The bun is super flaky and hard to eat with the burger. The fries honestly OK but nothing that special. My favorite part was actually the ranch. Really, they don't give you a side of bleu cheese or ranch with chicken wings to go? Very upsetting! And you'd assume being called "fry sauce" they'd include it with your French fry order? Nope, none of that either or ketchup or anything. The guy working had the "I'm too cool attitude" or have better things to do than his job, not very welcoming. Here's how I'd characterize Bogey's: A Five Guys-style burger joint that serves Chick-fil-A-style waffle fries. Oh, and there's ice cream. Bogey's is a local establishment. I love myself a burger now and again, and I love to support local. So I had to try it, but I really wish I'd had a better experience. I waited fifteen minutes for two burgers. Neither patty was seasoned. They were school-cafeteria tasteless. The buttered, toasted buns are a nice touch, but both of ours were cold, as though they had been buttered well before the patties were done. And lemme tell ya, there was butter on those buns--butter than only Joe Don Baker could love. I wasn't blown away by the "freshness" of the standard-fare ingredients. The waffle fries were as good as the Eat-Mor-Chikin place. I imagine wait times will improve (there's still a little new at this location). Hopefully, customer service will, too (nary an apology for the wait). But I'm not likely to find out. There are too many great burger joints in town with much more interesting options. read more

Came in today and got a big cheese burger, best burger I have ever had! 10/10 would recommend this place.

I've lived in Bend for 2 years and keep getting coupons for Bogey's. But they're on the other side of town (meaning 15 minutes away). But tonight I was in the mood for a burger and there was that coupon... I must tell you, that was the best burger I've had in 2 years. We have brew pub after brew pub in town, and the brews are incredible. But if you want a good burger, try Bogey's. No brew, but they do have milkshakes. I'll try one of those on my next visit. Good burgers start with a good base. The bun & meats used are of good quality. Then it's just a matter of adding the toppings you like. Bogey's have the tradition topping of lettuce, tomato, onions as well as others like sauté onions, jalapeños & red onions. I ordered the Big Bacon Bogey Cheese burger with onions rings. The burger was properly prepared( not raw or overly done) an good size. I really enjoyed burger an the onions rings were great. I will definitely be back when I am hungry for a burger. read more
