This place was our first stop on our visit to Portland. Gino the dog got some treats and his photo taken! The coffee and bagels were delicious and the staff were really what makes this place special. It's perfectly named, because everyone really was super kind. We had a great experience and enjoyed our breakfast in the benches, where Gino the dog could join. My doctor's office is across the street and I really needed coffee before driving home... Wow! Such a treat! I only had an iced cardamom coffee but I have to say, I'm not a coffee snob by any stretch of the imagination... I drink coffee for the caffeine and it usually takes me all morning to drink a cup...but I almost cried when I sucked down the last of this coffee in about 10 minutes. The taste was perfect. Balanced, not at all bitter. A little sweet but just right. And the barista asked if I wanted dairy milk or not and thank you, because I always forget. I opted for the oat milk and it was fantastic! Even if you're a coffee snob, you will LOVE this coffee! I'm going back tomorrow to try the Lavender Latte! Can't wait!! read more

I had been thinking about trying this place for awhile after seeing some pretty great reviews and seeing those little cannolis. Alas every time I would try to go they were closed due to heatwave, Fourth of July or vacation when I finally arrived the people were so welcoming and as the name suggests, kind! I got a macadamia latte with oatmilk iced and it was so delicious, and of course those cannolis. They were worth the hype and I definitely will be back whenever I can. read more

I love Kind Coffee! My only complaint is that it's not located right next to my house. This cart has good coffee and amazing cannolis that they fill on the spot. They remind me of the cannolis I get in Boston. The only thing off putting about Kind Coffee is the unkind barista. I'm not sure of her name but you'll know exactly who I'm talking about from the moment you walk up. She is the taller dark haired barista with a stank, yes stank attitude. The owner is sweet and the blond barista is adorable but if you're gonna be at something named Kind, at least try to be kind, try!!! Kind coffee was a definite stand out after a recent trip to the PDX! My son and I just happened upon them during a morning walk and ordered their delicious breakfast sandwiches and coffee. We even added on one cannoli for breakfast dessert and it was REALLY good! My son liked Kind coffee so much that he jogged there the next three mornings for breakfast and shared that if the KIND truck could magically teleport to a location near his NYC apartment, he would go there every day!!! read more

Rainy days and Friday, I needed a caffeine fix and walked over to this place, that is close to my work. Service was warm and professional but I must have ordered the wrong thing or maybe the mix wasn't right or something. I ordered the Chai Latte and it was really bitter, I didn't want to take it back but I couldn't finish it. I wonder if the tea was way to bitter.. I will return but probably stay away from the Chai. Yo, these folks have excellent coffee AND...cannolis!? Wtf!? And they're good cannolis! This is a boss move, a huge flex that literally gives them a superior edge over the rest of the coffee shops in town. So here we are, they're already a superior coffee shop...then they give your dog hella treats and it makes their day! This business model of being the best across the board (even to dogs) and having standard-to-better prices for their stuff is clearly a labor of love. I was in Portland visiting, and The Bite on Belmont and this coffee place came highly recommended for breakfast and a coffee. I do not regret coming here. It was easy to read the menu and place an order. The employees were very friendly and understanding. The breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, cheese on an English Muffin was outstanding. The coffee was delicious. The cannoli's were wonderful. I look forward to coming back the next time I visit Portland. read more

This is my favorite breakfast sandwich, cannoli, and coffee vendor in town. Fran brings the NY sass and cooks a mean East coast bagel sandwich. Best cannoli in Portland- we are from NY and we've sought out all the other places in pdx. I am particularly fond of their coffee as they use unsweeetened soy milk if you request soy and then offer maple syrup as well. read more

I've been craving cannolis so badly lately and was on a hunt to find a good cannoli spot. During my hunt, I learned that there aren't many places in Portland that have cannolis aside from Italian restaurants. Kind Coffee instantly caught my eye during my hunt since they do mini cannolis at an affordable price ($2 each) out of a food cart. A food cart cannoli with glowing reviews? I definitely needed to try it out. I ordered 10 mini, filled-to-order cannolis early Saturday afternoon (for me and my partner!) and they were delicious. When fresh, the shell was perfectly crispy, but held up as expected, maybe a tad better, after sitting a few days in my fridge. I loved how stuffed the cannoli was with the ricotta and chocolate chip filling. While I haven't tasted many cannolis, this filling was one of my favorites so far. It was creamy and rich, with the perfect amount of deliciously sweet chocolate chips. There was the perfect shell to filling ratio, with an added bonus of more filling overflowing from the sides of the cannoli in an easy-to-eat fashion. I appreciated the use of milk/semi-sweet chocolate chips rather than dark chocolate, as I like having sweeter desserts. In light of that, I think the cannoli could be improved by adding more powdered sugar to the cannoli shell. Overall, however, this was a really tasty cannoli. I'm already craving more and will make the drive across town for more in the very soon future. I want to try more cannoli places in Portland before giving Kind Coffee five stars, but it's set the standard quite high for sure. I really wish Kind Coffee was closer to me, as I'm sure I'd be a regular. I'd definitely be a regular to grab an irresponsible amount of cannolis, but the breakfast sandwiches also smelled fantastic and I can always appreciate a nice cup of coffee as well. read more

Wow! I came here for the Viking food truck which Yelp said was open but it was not so I ended up at KIND. So glad I did. The coffee and food is awesome and the staff are actually KaIND. This cart has replaced the Da-Pressed Coffee Cart at Good Food Here. It's a standard coffee and espresso menu here. There are a few non-coffee items, including fresh juice. Mary from the nearby Blues City Biscuits cart recommended the hot chocolate here ($2 for the small), which contains milk and Holy Cacow chocolate syrup. An excellent choice. It had a bit of richness to it, so I believe whole milk or 2% was used. The cocoa wasn't an overpowering chocolate blast, just a comforting pick-me-up for a chilly day. Stopped to get coffee here while waiting for a table across the street. The hostess recommended this over the shop down the street. The two people working were nice. It was the only cart open at this hour. The rest probly open later for lunch. Prices were average. The mocha was really good, more coffee taste than chocolate which I like. read more

Inside, they've got Coava coffee, efficient staff, and an old-school cafe vibe. With multiple couches (one of my main criteria for a coffee shop) and free wifi, this is a place to work, meet people, and slow down. Great long hours - they're open 6am-6pm.

The cost of a 12oz latte ($7) with no special milk was higher than other cafes I've been to recently around Portland including places that create their own syrups for specialty drinks of the month. That said, I don't begrudge the cost of a masterfully hand-crafted, drinkable cup of art and that is exactly what I received. I think the cost stuck in my head because the welcome did not feel particularly warm at the register. They were having an animated conversation with the barista and I couldn't help but feel like we were inconveniencing them by saying good morning and trying to order. When we picked up our orders, the barista was warm and friendly. Overall, it's a delightful spot in an equally lovely neighborhood.

There is lots of seating, but also a lot of people doing work from the café so it can get busy with folks reading, chatting, studying, on their laptops. I got their seasonal special - the Café de Olla - as well as a day-old bagel with salmon schmear cream cheese. It was great. Looks like they switch out their specials a couple times a year. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Lately they've been doing fun events like a latte art , speed dating, pop-ups from different bakers or wine makers.
