Wow. Just wow. I HATE WRITING THIS REVIEW because I want this place all to myself! There's not a…read more6th star, otherwise I'd give that too as well. Could not write enough good things about our first experience at Bandra Cafe. I have nothing but praise for this restaurant! Words cannot describe how impressed I was by the chef and his wonderful team. I could literally rave about this restaurant for HOURS. Our experience was absolutely exceptional. It's not often that from drinks to dessert you like everything set infront of you! You can truly feel the care and talent behind every plate. Everything is curated down to the smallest detail, and the food is absolutely amazing! This restaurant left me in a food coma. I was so full I couldn't even move but that's when you know the food was really good. What truly sets this experience apart is the owner himself. His warmth, humility, and passion for his craft shine through in every bite and every interaction. From the moment we walked in, we could tell this place was going to be special. The food was absolutely delicious--every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put real care into every plate. The service, impeccable. Professional and you are treated like you are their best customer at that moment. Bandra Cafe is one of those places where both the food and the service make you want to come back. The first thing that hit me was the smoke and sizzle of the Szechuan Tikka Sizzler. I wasn't ready for this level of heat!! And don't even get me started on the Quesadilla- it's absolutely scrumptious! The truffle fries are a non-negotiable! And of course I had to jump on the dirty soda trend! But the deliciousness doesn't stop there because the Chilli Chicken was pure satisfaction. And my summer mocktail era starts now with this Chili Mango Refresher. Let's just say my cravings were officially handled with the Bang Bang Cauliflower. And a good latte goes a long way! The cutting chai just fixes everything! Every dish was full of flavour, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully, making it hard to pick a favourite. The food had solid flavours that left us satisfied. The atmosphere is beautiful and lively with a great mix of elegance and comfort that makes the place feel special yet welcoming. From the very first moment, the owner and staff went the extra mile to secure a table for us, offered insightful recommendations that made each dish a perfect choice, and, above all, treated us with such kindness and genuine warmth that we felt right at home. Staff is top level service! You can tell real care and time went into how everything was prepared and presented. That extra attention shows. The attention to detail and dedication to quality shine through in every bite. What really stood out was the ambiance: the decor is stylish, warm, and inviting, making the whole dining experience even better. The decor, lighting, and music created an incredibly comfortable space that made you want to stay longer. Overall, Bandra Cafe is one of those rare places that manages to deliver on both food and experience. I have nothing but top tier, quality experiences and would recommend this place to anyone. Top-notch service, super friendly people, and a cool atmosphere. A place you'll want to return to, again and again. If you're looking for a place where great food, and phenomenal service come together effortlessly, Bandra Cafe is the place to go. This place is definitely a vibe! If you're looking for a restaurant that nails the food, mocktails, and atmosphere all in one, then Bandra Cafe is the place to go! I'll be dreaming about this place until my next visit! This was my first time at the restaurant, and I can attest with much confidence that it will definitely NOT be my last. Do yourself a favour: drop by this place. I promise--you will not regret it.

The staff is so kind and welcoming, it really is like being part of the family. During this visit we ordered our fave dishes including the savoury chicken tikka masala and the incredible chicken momos. I wasn't a huge fan of the prawn koliwada fry because of the seasoning, but my family enjoyed it. Our server Jana was very kind and knowledgable. Despite managing tables for half the restaurant, she was efficient in taking our orders and attentive when we needed her to come to our table. We also appreciated her sense of humour and friendliness. We love this restaurant and are so excited they've been expanding to other locations. We can't wait to return for another meal here during our next visit to Canada!

I can't believe I have yet to review one of my favourite restaurants in town. And there's barely…read moreany reviews which is a shame because this is a true unique gem of a restaurant! My family has been ordering take out from here since I was a kid. I believe the owners have expanded and now have multiple locations. Its Indian style food - with an emphasis on seafood. It's not a restaurant if you're looking for anything light and healthy. It's good, well flavoured food. When I last visited I noticed they have curry dishes and naan too. I dont know if they always had that because to be honest I have never tried theirs. Though if it's even half as good as what I usually eat I am definitely looking forward to trying it. What I can and would recommend is what we've been eating for literally decades -their pakoras! O.m.g. both their fish (made from cod) and their chicken pakoray are sooo good! Juicy. Tender. Spicy. Falvourful. Delicious. Get them with their tomato and tartar sauce dips and you are set for lunch/dinner. You can get either half or full. I say half is good for one person and full is good for sharing. But I have finished a full order on my own once - just cause it's that good. You can also modify the heat level to your tolerance. Though I must add that the heat is definitely a part of the eating experience. Give it a try!! I promise you won't regret it! Edit: we ordered again today because writing the review made me crave chicken pakoray. But I remember one aspect I dont like about the business model. They will pack excessive sauces in your order AND charge you for it without your consent! I hate hate hate when restaurants do this. If I didn't order it you should not charge me for it. If it's something you think I may want ASK me if I'd like to add it to my order. Dont just add it into the take out bag and charge me an additional $7 dollars. We ordered 1pound chicken and 2 pounds fish and the total came to $38. That's ridiculous. We only looked at the receipt during the drive home unfortunately or i would have marched back into the restaurant. Found out the extra charge was the 7 sauces they decided to sneak into the order. That's wayyy to much sauce anyway. The maximum we used was 3 and 1/2. Its disappointing when businesses do this because it totally ruins the experience. Lastly, the service sucks. My partner walked in and was not acknowledged by the lady on the phone in front -not even eye contact to indicate she was seen. After a few minutes someone from the back came and finally asked what order she was here for.

It was supposed to be my final meal of this leg of my Vancouver food trip, and with so many…read morerestaurants to choose from, I decided to trust my gut and head to Dragon Wok. Faced with two locations, I picked the newer one for reasons I can't quite explain, and thus began an amazing journey. The spacious parking area was a great start, and as soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by a bright, soothing, and clean environment. The Far East vibes were unmistakable, with signs all around confirming I was in a Chinese place. A polite girl greeted us and guided us through the extensive menu, helping us choose the best dishes and combinations. To give some context, Indo-Chinese food originated in Kolkata, Bengal, and evolved as it spread across India, with each region adding its own twist. My favorite is Bangladeshi Chinese, known for its aroma, toned textures, and balanced, soothing sauces and condiments. Although Indo-Chinese variations have diverged from their Bengali-Chinese roots, I was hoping to find something that would closely match my taste preferences. That's when a gentleman named Abrar approached us. To my delight, he was from Kolkata, the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine. He took the time to understand our preferences, crafting recommendations that seemed tailored just for us. He went above and beyond, even deciding how to tweak their original dishes to match our taste buds. We decided to go all out with his suggested combinations. We started with the appetizer, the Spicy chili garlic wings, and they were incredible--thin, yet with the crispiest crust, perfectly balanced with the chili garlic sauce. They were well-marinated with no gaminess, and the juicy inner layer contrasted beautifully with the crunchy exterior. 5/5. The Masala Fish blew us away--it was unforgettable. It wasn't overly spicy; a hint of sweetness brought out the flavors, with a light, airy crunch giving way to melt-in-your-mouth fish. The Crispy Chili Beef was very special. It wasn't dry, with a perfect semi-crisp exterior and juicy interior. Each bite validated how beef should be cooked. The sauce was perfectly balanced, neither too salty nor too sour. The Ginger garlic chicken was stir-fried to perfection, super soft with a soothing gravy, and the perfect blend of oriental sauces. Everything was balanced just right. The vegetable Hakka chowmein were not too oily, and though the noodles were a bit thinner than usual, they complemented every entrée so well it felt like a match made in heaven. Finally, the dessert--Ice cream with fried banana--was an ingenious creation. The warm, crunchy banana paired perfectly with the cold ice cream, creating a delightful ending to the meal. The girl at the reception (sorry, I didn't ask her name) was incredibly cordial, checking in on us several times and even offering complimentary green tea. Abrar also checked in on us a couple of times, providing exceptional service. I noticed him being attentive to every customer, offering nothing short of the best service you can get in a restaurant. I know taste buds vary, and Indo-Chinese palates differ across the subcontinent, but as someone extremely picky about Indo-Chinese food, I feel I had my best Indo-Chinese experience in North America at Dragon Wok. You're in good hands with these experts from the birthplace of Indo-Chinese cuisine.

The menu is extensive, offering everything from classics like General Tso's and lo mein to more unique options. With so many choices, there's something for everyone. The food always comes out hot and flavorful, and the staff is friendly and efficient. It's a great spot when you're craving Indo-Chinese food and want big portions that satisfy. We got veg fried rice, Manchurian chicken, and shrimp chow mein and honestly those plates were wiped clean. It was enough for four starving people. I'm tempted to come back and try their soup and other things on the menu. Can't wait!
