I hosted a diwali party at my place and wanted to do catering for 30 people. I contacted many places and finally landed on Hyderabadi Biryani House. If you didn't know, they provide 3 sizes for their biryani and appetizers - normal size, family size, and party tray. The party tray can easily feed 12-15 people while the family tray can fit 7-8 people. Here is what I ordered - :: Crispy corn family tray - this was a big fit! You didn't even need to warm it up, it tasted good as it was :: chicken majestic family tray - such unique flavours and the chicken was cooked to perfection :: vijaywada chicken biryani party tray - our all time favourite :: paneer 65 biryani party tray - another favourite :: double ka meetha - first time trying it and definitely won't be last. It was a bread budding with alot of ghee and tasted delicious!! They provided a lot of raita and salan with the biryani. All of this was just enough for 30 people! I had many people messaging me the next day asking where i did the catering from. Would highly recommend and it's definitely bank for your buck! read more

I liked the food but not the chaos! We decided to explore this restaurant as it claimed to have great biryanis . We entered from back side as there's limited parking on the front. We passed the toilets and the storerooms and I had a feeling it wasn't going to be a clean restaurant. The restrooms were dirty and dingy and so was the floor. The sous chefs moved around in gloves which I saw them use to pick up trays, touch raw food and everything in between. The music was so loud that after a point I felt like leaving. Once we sat down the servers were warm and courteous but oh so overwhelmed. Too many people too little servers. Menu is not exquisite but basic. We ordered goat pepper fry which I felt was exactly what it said. Peppery, feisty and delicious South Indian goat dish . Butterchicken was blah. I know we shouldn't have ordered it at a place like this but tell that to a 10 year old. Naans were basic and nothing stood out. Finally what we came here for, the biryani. We ordered the chicken biryani and the taste was nothing out of the park. I was just happy that it was not loaded with elaichi. Overall, food was good but the place is overall a chaos. The food was delicious, the chicken in the biryani had a slight sauce to it which made it more flavourful and the right amount of spice. This place has much hype and I can see why. The biryani was really good. We got there around 845 and they told us it would be a 40 min wait so we opted for take out. The place was packed with people and was pretty loud so I'm glad we chose to go. We ordered the chicken 65 and the goat biryani. It is the best chicken 65 my husband and I have had! Outstanding food here! I discovered this place through work colleagues who recommended it for a proper spicy biryani. Tonight we had chicken lollipop appetizers, Paneer Butter Masala, Mixed Tandoori Platter, and the Chicken Dum Biryani (hot). Every dish was served fresh and service was timely and well paced (appetizers and mains were nicely spaced). Staff were attentive and we were seated very quickly after arriving. I love Indian Food and after being at a recent Yelp event, this location was another location owned by that restaurant. I knew I had to try this location as well. Disclaimer: I ordered from a delivery app to QE park. Mine was a favourite to all those who can handle heat. Chicken 65 3.5/5 Goat Biryani 4/5 Nan 3.5/5 Pickles 5/5 Spicy Kahdoo Ka Kheer 4.5/5 In comparison to dining in, obviously temperature of food and texture is going to differ a little bit. What was surprising was the food tasted really good cold, and even super cold straight from fridge, as I had leftovers the next day. The basmati rice from the Goat Biryani had such good texture cold. Pickled green mangos along with the the spices and sesame seeds were some of the best I've had. Looking forward to dining in next time. read more

I was craving for biryani and remembered trying it here from another event. I ordered it and another dish (papdi chat) through a third party delivery. Unfortunately the chat never arrived, the restaurant staff forgot to put it in. 3 stars because of the missing item. It was quite disappointing as I was so looking forward to trying the street food snack. I called the restaurant and they acknowledged and explained they forgot to bag the chat. They found it sitting there. Not the fault of the delivery person but this incident made me wary of using these 3rd party delivery in future and it was my first time using it! I usually pick up my own food and so I shall continue to do that as long as I'm able. The food itself was very tasty. I forgot about the heat from the spice. They did not tone it down which was great if you were missing the spicy food in India. The vijayawaya fry chicken was so tender and flavorful. The portion was huge too. Lots of chicken pieces underneath the rice. I don't eat that much and this made 3 meals for me. The raita and salan complemented the biryani perfectly. Pappadum was yummy too. I'll definitely want to try the papdi chat and other dishes in future. The restaurant is pretty big and good for bigger groups. Street and side parking are available. read more

We ordered three dishes: garlic naan, goat curry and chicken biryani. Paid about $45 with tips. Excellent food! Packed with lots of flavour and just enjoyable to eat. Our curry was medium hot and it ended up being too spicy for me but we loved it! The garlic naan was fluffy, soft and crispy. The goat curry was our favourite! It's probably the best goat curry we've had yet. We've had so many delicious goat dishes at other restaurants but this one was just top-notch! We love that it comes in a little warmer that keeps it warm throughout the entire meal. Chicken biryani was good; nothing too special about it. We used the gravy from the curry to add flavour to the biryani. Unfortunately, the front of the house needs a lot of work and training. The waiters were lovely but it seems like there was nobody there to lead and guide them. We had placed our name on the waitlist (or thought we did) and were asked to take a seat, so we did. About 5 minutes later, another waiter comes to ask for our names to add to the list. We were so confused. Anyhow, they ended up seating us within 10 minutes, so that was nice. We sat for about 15 minutes before anyone came with a menu. They brought us a bottle of water but no glasses, that came about 10 minutes later. It took about 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive. The three tables that were seated after us were served all their food before us, so we had no idea what was happening. We were a pair (2 people) and the three tables after us had at least 3 people at each table. We were about half way through our meal before the rice dish came; it was a bit weird to have finished the naan and wait in the rice dish. Your food is excellent but your services aren't on par. It would be good for business if the front of the house were more organized and if there was a better strategy for managing customers. We love your food and will definitely be back but this time we'll order take out. I really think you deserve a 5 star but unfortunately, the services and wait times need a bit more work. I was a bit skeptical of the low reviews, so I went to see for myself on a slow Thursday afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. The environment was clean and modern/sleek inside. As far as the food, the biryani was very well seasoned and the chicken was moist. The pot looked a bit small upon arrival but it was a surprising amount of food for the price! The sauces complimented everything very well. The food is incredible. Had the Hyderabad Biryani and Madras Chicken, both medium spice. I like it quite spicy, and this was pretty much perfect for me, while my brother thought it was on the verge of too spicy, so just be aware that they don't pull their punches in the heat department. I don't know what spice blend they used in the byriani, but it was so aromatic and flavorful, all other biryanis I've had in my life paled in comparison. We ordered the Madras Curry because I'd never heard of that one before, and it did not disappoint. Again, layers of flavour, exploding in your mouth. Incredible. read more

I was excited to try Hyderabad Biryani House after eating at their sister restaurant in Delta, Bahubali Biryani House. I was craving the Chicken 65 I had tried at Bahubali and happy knowing that there was a closer location to order it. The flavour was spot on. Spicy creamy curry coating the juicy chicken. I would say that it wasn't as crisp as at Bahubali. It had reminded me previously of a fusion between Korean fried chicken and curry, where the coating of the chicken was able to maintain its crunch under the sauce. Perhaps they make the chicken in advance here, as the menu item is quite popular. We also ordered a Goat Dum Biryani. The goat was actually quite tender, not what I had expected. There was a decent amount of goat within the rice. Everything was nice and fluffy but not as hot as I would have wanted it. The restaurant is named "biryani house" but the biryani didn't stand out to me as much as other dishes. Our friends ordered the Madras and naan. Definitely a sweeter flavour profile than the chicken 65. The naan was light and chewy, perfect to go with the curry. I would definitely come back for more hyderabadi food! read more

I will only go back to this place for its food. The food did have flavors. Or maybe I would say takeout is best option. They have more than 1.5 hour waiting time even in the middle of the night. Worst part they don't even care. They are extremely rude. And there were empty tables which were not cleaner. Ambience is okay. It does not seem to be very clean, especially floors, wall and table. I've visited Hyderabad Biryani House three times, and the taste has never disappointed. We ordered biryani, which was aromatic with perfectly balanced spices and served in very generous portions. The restaurant is clean and the staff is welcoming, and although there can be a wait during busy hours, it's completely worth it for the quality of food. We will definitely visit again. read more

So I ordered a paneer65 biryani pickup order and got a vegetable biryani instead. I dislike it when the staff are so clueless and don't check the order before giving it to the customer. Unfortunately this was on my way back to Seattle so couldn't check it myself until later in the evening. Biryani itself is average at best. Lacks a punchy flavour. It is spicy for a "medium spice" biryani, which I truly enjoy but it's not as flavourful as what I've had before at other places. read more

We ordered the family pack chicken biryani for the 4 of us. Our waitress had told us that it could feed FOUR people. Unfortunately this was very misleading, and we were left with way too many leftovers than we could handle. We also ordered butter chicken paneer, gobi manchurian, and baby corn masala. All three were very appetizing and cleared easily. The gobi manchurian was especially a hit for our table. The single portion biryani is best to order instead of the family pack as it can feed 2-3 people. First, a bit of history (and her story too!): Twelve years ago, on the 6th of August, 2011, I and the missus (back then my girlfriend) went on the first of our many SaturDates in the beautiful Indian city of Hyderabad. So, it was quite the coincidence that on a Saturday exactly a dozen years later (8/6/2023), we both found ourselves in a place named after the same city, which transported us back to our special place for yet another SaturDate! One of our biggest complaints after moving to Metro Vancouver from SoCal a couple of years ago was not being able to find a place that served authentic South Indian Biryani. But that grievance has now finally been addressed, and in style! True to their name, Hyderabad Biryani House is the local home of the famed mixed rice dish, and rest assured that here you'll get the genuine taste and spice levels of Indian food (and not westernized, bland imitations that many other Indian restaurants are (in)famous for offering!). Our dormant Desi taste buds sprang to life as we thoroughly enjoyed our old favorites - Chicken 65 (Bite-sized, marinated tender chicken deep-fried to perfection - lip-smacking stuff!), Vijayawada Fry Piece Chicken Biryani (delicious!), and, wait for it, Khadoo Ka Kheer (sweet pudding made from grated bottle gourd, flavoured with cardamom and garnished with nuts - yummy yum yum!). The spicy food on the warm summer day paired well with chilled beer and the tasty Sweet Mango Lassi. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for outdoing themselves! The ambience with the conspicuous Charminar and the friendly + attentive service with the hospitality of the kind hosts complemented the superb food, and in the process ensured a top-notch and well-rounded Hyderabadi experience. This is hands down my favorite place for their chicken biryani spicy but as J had family in town, we went several times over the course of a few weeks for their mixed tandoori platter with garlic naan. Delicious! It reminded me of the tender grilled meats we had when we were in Amritsar earlier this year. Also tried their sweet pan which is over priced for what it is but the presentation is unique. Their food is worth revisiting over & over and it makes a difference when you dine in for the tandoori platter as it is a sizzler versus what I tend to do which is order take out which may not be possible and would not taste the same for a sizzler. read more

I was at this location recently for an event and absolutely loved it. The ambience and Decoration of the place is super adorable and wonderful. It feels cozy and intimate. The service was great as well. We tried the chicken biryani and veggie biryani (if I'm not mistaken, the veggie biryani has paneer in it). For applies, there was a chicken and veggie (with corn) in masala dish. For dessert, we had Kheer. All of the food was super delicious and makes me want to go back for more. If you ever want true and authentic South Indian biryani, this is the place you need to be at. read more

Have been here many times. Food is consistent in taste and volume. I usually have the paneer 65 biryani medium spice and it's delicious! Lots of paneer and the heat does sneak up on you. Portions appear normal but rice is packed in so I bring a container ready for leftovers. Service is friendly. Ambiance is casual with neighbourhood vibe. I wish I could concur with other reviewers about this Indian restaurant, but I can't. They have a very extensive menu so that is a huge plus. Very authentic dishes as well. There were six of us for dinner recently. Unfortunately, the service was pathetic. While the server was personable she was not attentive to our table whatsoever. Once she finally came over to take our order (after we got her attention) then after the food (many dishes) was delivered she disappeared. She was around, but chose to ignore our table. It took forever to get her attention to bring doggie bags and then bring our bill. The food was good and good portion sizes. Unfortunately, we won't be back due to the lack of service. read more
