Post op 7 months now…read more I had been trying to establish post op care with a in network bariatric surgeon but it was such a big headache. I asked to get my labs checked and they couldn't even get that right. I reached out to Dr. Doraiswamy after 3 failed attempts. I explained the situation and he quickly got back to me to say not to worry, he will order labs and schedule a phone follow up to review labs. Same day, I got my telehealth appointment scheduled and labs emailed. I went to quest that weekend and got the done in preparation for my call the next week after Easter. Dr. D asked how I have been doing and reviewed the labs. B was a bit high so he recommended reducing to every other day. Vitamin A low but may choose to supplement in diet or via over the counter vitamin. We set some achievable goals with bumping up my exercise to focus on type and duration. I have another follow up call in 4 months. I cannot say enough great things about Dr. D. I am doing well 7 months post op/45 lbs down. Eating has normalized (my new norm). Occasional nausea which he explained to avoid drinking with meals. This will cause that weird funnel overflowing effect which will cause nausea. No other side effects that I have noted. This has been a very comfortable journey thus far. He has been a stellar surgeon before and after surgery. I am so happy I can still follow up with him throughout my journey to a healthier me. If you are contemplating any weight loss surgery, I continue to highly recommend Dr. D. He is the best! Also, special thanks to the office staff for being responsive and efficient with scheduling.

Just went here a week ago. Saw Dr. Chung who performed a procedure involving my bladder. When doing…read moremore research on the procedure a lot of other Dr's either put their pts to sleep or gave them pain meds. Dr.Chung did neither and said the procedure wasn't that bad. I've had a horrific "recovery" and have tried to contact him and the office several times. I've messaged through the patient portal, called the nurse triage line, left messages- no one has gotten back to me. I would NEVER trust this facility or its doctors to perform any medical procedures on you or your loved ones. I fear I have permanent damage and I will call every day until they finally give me the time of day. The fact I have to call every day and no one gets back to me is infuriating.

Went to City of Hope for treatment of stage 4 melanoma just over a year ago. I had a bad reaction…read moreto the imunotherapy medication, specifically Yervoy, which landed me in the hospital. I've since been informed how dangerous Yervoy can be. Another highly respected oncologist told us it is known a patient killer. My oncologist Dr. Xing was unavailable the entire time I was admitted due to the holidays, even though initially my wife and I were told she would always be available. Her nurse Deanna was rude and dismissive throughout my time there. Dr Xing never made an appearance, or made any attempt to contact us during my hospitalization. The attending doctors were treating my reaction to imunotherapy drugs with pain medication that sent me to the edge of liver failure. A simple google search of the side effects of these pain meds revealed that they were all toxic to the liver which was where the melanoma was. We had to demand they stop all the pain medication they were administering, against their advice of course. Once we made that decision I began a recovery over a few days & my liver enzyme numbers came back to a more normal level. At that point we decided to go to another institution because Dr Xing was going to start me again on the same protocol that almost killed me. A year later I'm doing much better, thanks to the care at UCLA. The tumor is shrinking under a different protocol. Please think twice before you choose Dr. Xing at city of Hope. I would not have survived had I stayed as a patient of hers & would have been just another statistic. I'm sure the "official" cause of death would have been the cancer, (which is now much better) and not the mismanagement of my symptoms of the imunotherapy treatment. If I could give a ZERO rating I would.

Was there for septoplasty and turbinate reduction by Dr. Battaglia. The place is on the older side,…read morebut that is okay as it is literally 5 minutes from where I live. Since I already done most of the paperwork initially via online (it helps a lot btw), my initial process was all pretty straight forward, despite how much my anxiety was spiking. Before I know it, I was laying in the bed in a hospital gown, waiting for Dr. Battaglia and the anesthesia doctor (sorry I forgot your name) to visit me prior to surgery. When they came, we a small discussion and that was it. Waited for about a little over an hour, but it didn't feel like it at all. Then I was rolled into the surgery room. New for me, bright lights, other nurses about... the usual. Before too long, I was out already as the anesthesia is applied. I had a tough time waking up. I remember a few things, hearing my mom's voice as well as the post-op nurse, Diana, trying to wake me up but I had trouble coming to. Definitely different. I remember (I think) being given another IV on top of other medication(s) in attempt to stabilize my vitals and wake me up, which I finally did wake up. Groggy as all heck and feeling like crap. I felt something was off but I couldn't put my finger on it. However, my vitals were eventually good enough for discharge, so I was released to my mom while the post-op nurse rolled me out to our car. As soon as I tried to stand up, I threw up trying. My post op nurse apparently suspected this would happen as I swallowed blood (among other icky stuff) during surgery that made me feel worse. She had prepared a few things just incase I did vomit going to the car, which I did. They tried to induce that out while I was waking up, in the post-op area but I couldn't until I was trying to stand up and move. A day later, I got a call from the place, specifically Diana, my post-op nurse asking how I was doing. My guess is, it is protocol but regardless if it is or not, I appreciate the gesture. I was doing better but still feeling out of it. She mentioned, most likely I am sensitive to anesthesia so, I should definitely let the doctors know next time. Which I will :p While, I don't plan on going to be here multiple times, but being my first experience, everything was positive. Front desk lady was nice, things are a bit old but lets be honest here, not a lot of places like this are brand spanking new. My experience was great though, and that is what counts. Nurses and doctors are often overworked and stressed, some can be mean and make mistakes but they're human. Treat them kindly.

After a four-year search, Dr. Li at LA Breast and Body (Arcadia) was the first physician to truly…read morelisten to me, validate my experience, and give me the correct diagnosis. From that very first appointment, I felt seen and taken seriously in a way I never had before. Women should not have to wait until they have cancer to be able to decide to have their breasts removed. Dr. Li carefully and thoroughly evaluated my history and made it clear that, in my case, a prophylactic mastectomy was medically necessary. I prophylactic surgery is for those who do not have cancer, but have other reasons why a mastectomy is in the best interest of the patient. That validation alone lifted an enormous emotional burden I had been carrying for years. Everything changed once she became part of my care team. From the moment my insurance approved surgery -- coordinated seamlessly with a breast oncologist at Cedars-Sinai, with whom she partners -- I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and safety. Dr. Li took the time to explain all surgical options in detail, answered every question, and respected my goals and preferences without pressure. I requested an Aesthetic Flat Closure, and Dr. Li worked in tandem with the breast oncologist during a single surgery, which meant I did not have to endure multiple surgeries. That level of coordination, foresight, and respect for my quality of life was invaluable. Just as important as her technical excellence is who she is as a physician: Dr. Li is kind, attentive, thoughtful, and deeply compassionate. She listens. She explains. She partners with you in decision-making. And her surgical skill speaks for itself. My results are what I wanted them to be. I also want to recognize Traci, her PA, and Sandra on her staff -- they are outstanding. They always answer the phone, respond efficiently, and make you feel that what you're saying truly matters. In moments that feel overwhelming, that kind of responsiveness and care makes all the difference. If you are looking for a plastic surgeon who combines exceptional expertise with genuine empathy, whether for breast surgery or any plastic surgery need, I cannot recommend LA Breast and Body and Dr. Li highly enough. I am profoundly grateful for her care and for the peace of mind she gave me. And, it's not just me: it's my husband, five children and 6 grandchildren. They and I thank you, thank you, thank you.
