My order through GrubHub came hot and ready. The spicy in the Dinamite Roll is the orange salad on top. It definitely needed a dosing of the soy sauce packet as the roll underneath was bland. Hot out of the fryer though! The Combination Pan-Fried Noodle Chinese Lo Mein came with a bonus white rice that I wasn't expecting. Overall the Lo Mein sauce reminded me of a Chow Mein sauce. It's a good gravy. I may add some soy to it as well when it cools down a bit. It came piping hot! It smelled too good to not taste it though! Edit after spending more time with my food. The description of a Dinamite Roll says shrimp tempura but the what I dissected looks more like a Crab stick tempura. The online description also says eel sauce should be incorporated somehow but it doesn't appear to have any inside the roll or any in the bright orange topping. The description doesn't mention it would be a deep fried roll. It's not bad food I just feel hoodwinked! Confirmed Crab stick! Not shrimp tempura. I want my $20 back!!! I would get the regular Lo Mein and omit the Pan-Fry option. The noodles are REALLY crunchy or come across as under cooked noodles. I went here for dinner the other day with a friend, and we received amazing service. The sushi was well-presented, fresh, and delicious. There's a wide variety, from sushi and hand rolls, to a full traditional Chinese food menu with lo mein, crab rangoon, etc. The only disappointment of my evening was that my plastic wrapped fortune cookie was empty (no fault of the restaurant!). I hate to leave this review because I know the owner and like him a great deal. He is the best thing about the restaurant. I dined there for the first time in many years recently. I would first note that the prices are considerably higher than what is listed online. I ordered a pork egg roll and General Tso's tofu. The egg roll was not as large as some other restaurants offer. It was okay. The tofu that was brought was not General Tso's. It was tofu with vegetables. It was a large portion with lots of vegetables. I did not want to wait a long time to receive what I ordered. It was fine. Although there was only one other party at the restaurant, it took about 15 minutes to receive the egg roll and another 10 minutes to receive the entree. The weak point of the meal was the server: not attentive, cold, and unfriendly. She did not think to refill my water and performed no quality check. That was performed by the owner. This woman stands in stark contrast to the servers who make every meal at Chinatown Inn and Bean Curd Restaurant special. I wish I had gone to one of those restaurants instead. read more

This used to be my favorite sushi place of all time--anywhere, and I've recommended it to many people. Very low key place but the sushi and service were phenomenal. I've recently moved closer to the area again and the quality has been so hit or miss. I've only been ordering takeout recently so I can't say if it's the same for in-person dining. Especially for the price, I haven't enjoyed knowing there's now about a 50-50 chance the fish tastes like it isn't fresh and I probably shouldn't keep eating it. Sushi is definitely not something you want to be questioning! I've also recently branched out into their Chinese menu with the chicken lo mein. First time it was good, second time it was not. After trying all of the Asian restaurants in the area (Washington) Benichopsticks is my favorite go-to! The staff is always friendly. Service is quick. But most importantly the food is always fresh and delicious. They definitely use top quality ingredients. I usually get Chicken with Vegetables and it is wonderful with lots of tender chicken - no fat, no gristle, just nice tender pieces of breast meat. I counted a variety of nine different vegetables - all big, fresh pieces - corn, carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, peas, onion, water chestnuts, boy choy, broccoli! Their egg rolls are always crispy on the outside, crunchy cabbage on the insider, never soggy or greasy. I've tried the Bento box both with scallops and teriyaki chicken - delicious and loaded with food selections! I've also had Kung Pao, Gen Tso's, Sweet n' Sour, Chow Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice, Singapore noodle, Pad Thai - all prepared to perfection and delicious! The dumplings and amazing chicken were incredible however. The dumplings were more than just dough like they are at some places. We were in the area and wanted sushi, so we looked on Yelp and found Benichopsticks. We only ordered sushi: a couple special rolls and eel over rice. I'm not usually an eel person, but their eel is very good. One of the best I've ever had. Really liked the rolls as well. They gave us two complimentary ice cream mochi to end the meal (vanilla- and coffee-flavored). How nice! Service was great. Our server was very sweet and always had a smile on his face. We ordered two rolls to go and specified we didn't want any sauce on one of them. He came to show us what the rolls looked like and asked if they were okay before closing the box and putting it in a bag. When boyfriend was on the way to the bathroom, they had a brief chat about Clash of Clans (haha). Only complaint though is that the food--at least the sushi--was pricey. I used to really enjoy Benichopsticks, but it seems as if the quality of both the food and the service have really went downhill in the last two years. The last three times that I've visited and the last time I had food delivered, I was disappointed. The food delivery was on a Thursday. It took almost two hours to receive our food and it was cold when it arrived. I live 10 minutes away, so there is no excuse for cold food. I've eaten in the the restaurant with my fiance and some family members a few times within the last year. I noticed that the staff didn't seem as attentive as they used to be. I also noticed that the food had more filler (such as peppers and onions) than it used to. The chicken I've had was overcooked each time. My fiance and my family were not impressed with their meals either. I am willing to try them again in the future, but it will be some time before I'm willing to visit again. Even though they had reasonably priced lunch items, I just wanted some sushi, soup, and salad.... I also got an order of the crab rangoons and they were delish! This restaurant was recommended by two separate friends for great food. I left the restaurant questioning my friendship and not only their taste in food but if they playing an elaborate prank on us. We went for a early Saturday dinner, the restaurant was empty. The ambiance was lacking to say the least and really could use some updates or finesse. We ordered two sushi rolls that barely resembled traditional sushi, our popping rice soup for two consisted of frozen vegetables and was generally unappealing and the fried rice tasted like freezer. Beep, beep, beep, beep...this was the noise I could here coming from the kitchen. The sound of a microwave going off every minute or so before they brought food out and right before our food came out of the kitchen. No steam coming from the food, but as I bit into the chicken I had to immediately spit it back out because it was scolding hot from microwave. Why not make the food fresh and cheat out the customer? After the server came back and saw I hadn't touched one thing on my plate because my tongue and roof of my mouth had blistered from the microwaved chicken, she asked if I was done, I nodded yes, took my plate and brought the bill. The manager walked to everyone's table to ask how their night and dinner was going, except when he got to ours, he asked if we needed to pay!! Ha!!!! I took my parents here for lunch based on their previous visit. The small dining room was nicely decorated, and intimate with a few booths and tables. The sushi bar and bar took up one wall. It being between lunch and dinner, there was only one other customer when we were seated. My parents ordered from the lunch menu and I ordered dumplings and shrimp toast. My father specifically requested tempura vegetables and was served stir fried. He was disappointed. When questioned, wait staff basically said, "oh well". My mother was pleased with her sweet and sour chicken. The soups served with lunch were well seasoned and tasty. The dumpling dough was thick and chewy, under-cooked but the filling was well done. The dumpling dipping sauce was nice and balanced with soy and vinegar. The shrimp toast was mostly toast, very little shrimp. It tasted heavy and greasy, and was indeed very oily. They might need to change their deep fry oil or increase the oil temperature to impede the oil penetrating the shrimp toast. The accompanying sauce tasted like it came from a jar. The service was brisk. It was a challenge to get the attention of the wait staff once the dishes were served. Since I was expecting the place to rise to the praise my parents expressed, I was disappointed. It was just OK. I will not go out of my way to travel to Canonsburg when there are so many other fine Asian restaurants available. read more
