    Four rolls in a heart.

I went here for dinner the other day with a friend, and we received amazing service. The sushi was well-presented, fresh, and delicious. There's a wide variety, from sushi and hand rolls, to a full traditional Chinese food menu with lo mein, crab rangoon, etc. The only disappointment of my evening was that my plastic wrapped fortune cookie was empty (no fault of the restaurant!). There's a full bar and beautiful ambiance. I would love to visit again!

Very large portions, small price. I wish the food had a bit more sauce/flavor. Looking forward to trying the sushi.

Last Saturday 11/2 we ordered from here. Midway through her sushi my wife found this black hair embedded in her meal ( she's a blonde!) I emailed the shop several times but received no response . Needless to say we were all grossed out by this. Check your food for foreign substances if you eat here!

We were in the area and wanted sushi, so we looked on Yelp and found Benichopsticks. We only ordered sushi: a couple special rolls and eel over rice. I'm not usually an eel person, but their eel is very good. One of the best I've ever had. Really liked the rolls as well. They gave us two complimentary ice cream mochi to end the meal (vanilla- and coffee-flavored). How nice! Service was great. Our server was very sweet and always had a smile on his face. We ordered two rolls to go and specified we didn't want any sauce on one of them. He came to show us what the rolls looked like and asked if they were okay before closing the box and putting it in a bag. When boyfriend was on the way to the bathroom, they had a brief chat about Clash of Clans (haha). Only complaint though is that the food--at least the sushi--was pricey. Our rolls were $12-13 for just 8 pieces of sushi each that are kind of on the smaller side. The eel over rice was around $15 for a pretty small portion I thought. Ordered take out. I was pretty disappointed. Definitely Not the best. I and used to how lee in Washington and nothing there compared. I probably won't go back. Also they didn't give me enough sauces!

Lots of seating, the restaurants was warm on a cold night and although busy it wasn't very loud. Started with some oolong tea and edamame followed by three rolls which was way more than I could eat but I wanted the variety. The eel was tender and flavorful but the star was the first date roll which was covered in spicy tuna. The Philly roll was good but I probably didn't need it but sometimes you just want the taste. The wasabi was not a hot as I expected. I used much larger portions to get the expected result. Nothing like a good sinus burn. Otherwise everything was great. The staff kept close tabs on what I needed and how things were tasting without being obnoxious. Highly recommend.

Our server was friendly and asked general questions while giving us ample time to look make decisions without feeling rushed. We ordered a dragon roll and a rainbow roll. We also both got chicken hibachi, which ended up being to go! I love their ginger salad and my friend tried the mochie matcha ice cream. It was fairly loud but it's easily blocked out, but be prepared for your conversations to be eavesdropped on or judged by other diners. The staff in total was friendly and attentive and it's by far one of my favorite sushi/hibachi places in Pittsburgh!

Reservations are highly recommended - it's on the smaller side. The menu has so many options and an amazing variety. One thing to note is this Japanese food is not like most others. Its focus is on homestyle, also fried/stir fried Japanese dishes. So do not expect Ramen or noodle soups. A couple things that are always ordered is the Kaarage, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki (best in the city), yakisoba or udon, and gyoza. The staff is so sweet and the decorations remind me of Izakaya places in larger cities. They have a bar with cool cocktails and adorable bento boxes they sell during lunch hours throughout the week. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

The takoyaki has a crunchy outside and a good flavor (4/5), and the okonomiyaki is pretty filling (4/5); these were the best two. The yaki-udon with shrimp was ok (3/5) but definitely expensive for what it was and the quantity; they also don't add much shrimp, despite the up charge. The sake no shioyaki was below average for salmon (2/5) and very expensive for that amount they give you. Similarly, the onigiri is almost entirely rice if you add salmon (2/5). You order on a tablet, and they bring the food out. Service was ok (3/5); we had empty waters for a while. The restaurant is well-decorated, and you can see the chefs work, which gives it an ambiance somewhat like a hibachi place (4/5). Overall, I think most of the items are pretty expensive for what they are; they don't have the quality or quantity to justify the price.

Once your table fills with enough people, the show begins. The place was a little dead and staff was moping around looking at their phones. The rice is cooked and plated... do you eat it? Then the noodles are cooked and plated. Do you eat them? Then your main course is prepared with some theatrics in between. Flipping some raw veggies into people's mouths and the onion of fire are always a hit. The food was tasty and good as well as a good portion. Always enough to take some home. But by the time the main course was finished, the rice and noodles were cold. I wish there was a way to do everything together, on a giant hot griddle or something. Service was adequate but not great. Food was good but not great. Would return if someone has never been there and was looking for a show. Price was reasonable for a fresh cooked meal in front of you.
