Service was extremely fast, stopped in and said wait was 20 minutes, food was being hand delivered in less than 10 minutes. Both dishes were very good and full of flavor. Kung Pao was spicy but not over the top. I would definitely be back. read more

Pan Asia Eatery is a casual restaurant that serves mostly Chinese foods as well as some Thai foods. The menu lists very typical foods such as wonton soup, spring rolls, general Tso's chicken, Hunan beef, pad thai, and lo mein. Prices are reasonable. My husband and I ate dinner inside the restaurant one time. The restaurant had nice décor and was clean. The staff members provided friendly and timely service. Here are my reviews for the foods: Teriyaki beef - 3 stars - My husband had ordered the teriyaki chicken, but the employee accidentally brought out beef instead. We did not mention the mistake, and we ate this beef. The beef could have been more tender and flavorful, but it was OK. Crabmeat rangoons - 4 stars - The exterior dough was nicely crispy. The filling contained much cream cheese. The sauce on the side was tasty. Orange chicken - 4.5 stars - This entrée was very large, so I had leftovers for the next day. The chunks of chicken contained juicy meat and were nicely battered and fried. Some fresh mushrooms and broccoli were included. Kung pao chicken - 4 stars - My husband ate this entrée. Honestly, I can't quite get to 4 star for Pan Asia Eatery. 3.5 if yelp let you do halvsies. Why? Not because it's less convenient from North side--as I met up with a freind here for dinner and 10/10 would go back or order takeout from--but because in the pantheon of Chinese food places in Pittsburgh, it's just short of one of the better ones, in my opinion. I got the Crab rangoon and the friend and I split the eggplant with garlic sauce and the sesame chicken. Everything was very tasty and the portions were really nice and ample. We were too lazy to cook tonight. So glad that we were. It was amazing and I think the best Chinese in town. We've tried several different places and are almost always disappointed. This time we were so happy. We absolutely love dumplings and these were wonderful. Loved the dough and the tasty meat inside! We also loved the general tso's and lemon chicken. They were so crisp and flavorful. Normally, they are so drenched in sauce that you can't stand to eat it. Thankfully, they put the lemon sauce on the side which will be great for leftovers tomorrow. The brown rice was very good. The only negative was the fried rice. My husband said it wasn't very flavorful. Even the shrimp crackers (little bag on the side) were even delicious. Run don't walk here. It's amazing. Can't wait to try other things. read more

Very, very good Chinese food! I've been wanting to try out more local Chinese spots, so this seemed to be a great stop. I ordered the sesame chicken (similar to general Tso) and a chicken egg roll. They were both quite tasty! They give you a huge portion for the main dish. And, the side rice that accompanied the chicken was equally large! The quality of the chicken seemed to be quite good. Not too chewy or fatty. It seemed to be white meat but could have just been a high quality dark meat as well. It maintained its crispness even after sitting in the car. Their sauce is delicious and definitely on the sweet side. A little bit of sesame and some broccoli to top it off. I would have preferred a little more broccoli, but that was essentially more only quarrel with this dish. The egg roll is pretty good, but not the best I've had. Was still a little crispy but nearly all cabbage, and I could barely taste the chicken. Portion was a bit smaller than at comparable places. They do give you quite a few different sauces on the side for free (duck, soy, mustard). I enjoyed the soy sauce combination the most since it gave an extra salty pop to the cabbage (somewhat like sauerkraut). Also, can't forget the complementary fortune cookie! All in all, this was very tasty food. The portion sizes are great for the price, and the quality of the meat seems to be quite high. Their sesame sauce is sweet and delicious, but I would have liked more broccoli. Egg roll is okay. Would recommend! read more

I don't usually order from places with few reviews but it's Chinese food- usually pretty consistent wherever you go. So here is my review for others who may be skeptical as well. Location: Pan Asia is a part of a strip mall and while it's unassuming on the outside, the inside is gorgeous and beautifully decorated. While I didn't spend too much time inside, it appeared very clean and there was ample space for groups to sit. When I picked up my food around 6pm on A Sunday, it was pretty empty. Customer Service: It was good! I assume the woman at the front desk is the same person who took my call and she was very pleasant and friendly. Food: Good serving sizes. We ordered the Hunan Chicken and Mongolian Beef and both came with a side of white rice. I upgraded my rice to fried rice for an additional $1.50. Flavor wise- the food was fine although I would have liked it to be more seasoned. Especially for the hunan chicken, I added a bit of salt, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper to make it suit my taste better. Even though it was marked as a spicy item on the menu- I didn't find it spicy at all. One could prob request a higher spice level. And even though I found the food just alright, I still ate it all since it met my Netflix and Chinese takeout needs. For all of these reasons, I gave 4 stars. read more

I know this place is new, and they are trying to sort things out. But this is one of the worst places I have ever been. We has a party of 8. And there was one other couple in the restaurant. It took forever to get our food. First couple orders came out cold. Then several did not even get food until others had already finished. Not a lot of flavor of what I got. Do you want some Chinese-American classics? Need a low-key place to have lunch or dinner? Do not sleep on Pan Asia! I feel like the North Hills has really been missing a great place to get all of the Chinese takeout standards, and this restaurant has filled that gap for us. We have had takeout and dine in, both experiences great! The quality of ingredients really shows. The Mu Shi pork was fantastic, all of the vegetables are fresh and cut beautifully. You cannot go wrong with any of the various chickens (sesame, orange, amazing, general tso). We also have tried the Thai dishes: the pad Thai is delicious and we also loved the Sweet and Spicy Thai shrimp! We will totally be back and hope to see more folks giving Pan Asia some love!! read more

Our first visit to this new place for takeout. My wife got Moo Shi pork and I got King Pao shrimp. Both were delicious and the portions were very generous. Interior of the newly opened restaurant is clean and bright and service was great. Will definitely be back soon and I'm telling my friends to try them too! read more

What happened???? We went during a "soft opening" and the food was good. Granted the Spring Roll was super tiny, but the food was fresh and tasty. Went again tonight and it was ridiculous. The waiter was struggling, the food took forever and it was bad. I swear the shrimp had an iodine after taste, and the chow mein was overly greasy and bland. The owneeds has great recommendations! And will help you find a dish you'll love! I tried the shrimp shumei this visit, which I never had before, and it was delightful! I also tried the seaweed salad, my First thought when looking at it, was simply how beautiful it was! The colors were radiant, the flavor was soothing and delicious! There's a great new Chinese restaurant in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Driving by the Pines Plaza Shopping Center on Perry Highway recently, we discovered that a Chinese restaurant was having its Grand Opening. I checked out the menu online and we went for lunch. The lunch specials are served Tuesday-Saturday from 11:30 am until 3:00 pm, Sunday from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm, and dinner is all day until 8:30, 9:00, or 9:30 pm, depending on the day. We were greeted warmly by the owner's wife and shown to our table. Her husband, equally nice, answered our questions and took our order. We ordered chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce from the special lunch menu, which came with our choice of fried or steamed rice, and egg roll, veggie roll, or soup. We had the hot and sour soup and steamed rice. The generous portion of soup was really good. The main dish followed, steaming hot. It was really delicious and very plentiful. The service is quick and careful, and the restaurant clean and inviting. We go regularly now and have noticed that the taste of the dishes is very consistent. If you order something once, the next time you order the same dish, it will taste just like it did the last time. Slowly, we are ordering different things and have yet to find something we do not like. (The Singapore noodles are delicious!) The egg drop and hot and sour soups are very flavorful, as are the lo mein noodles, the Szechuan chicken, and the Amazing chicken. It really is amazing, with its tangy sweet sauce and thinly sliced and very lightly breaded chicken. They also have a lighter menu if you are watching your calories. We are looking forward to trying the Moo Shi chicken and some of the Thai specialties on the menu (and I have to order those Singapore noodles again soon!) Whatever you like about Chinese food, give Pan Asia Eatery a try. You'll love it! read more
