The yellow curry was good, but would have preferred the onions to be a little smaller and maybe more sauce. Not photographed was the duck, it was more on the dry side and needed some duck juice. It was standard Americanized Chinese food, nothing special but nothing to complain about either. The portion size was relatively large and there was a lot of white rice that came with it (in a cup on the side). Efficient is how I would best describe the service. Everything we have had here is delicious, from the egg drop soup, to the lomein, to the mushu pork, Mongolian beef (with flank steak). My personal favorite is the kung pao chicken. The 2nd star is for the portion size in relation to the value - There is a lot of food! I just cannot give any stars for the food being tasty. We have tried a handful of their menu options and a majority of their sushi rolls and it never seems to disappoint. My personal favorite is the fried rice, whether it is vegetable or shrimp. They are flavorful and full of veggies. Their sushi is also extremely tasty. I believe it is better than other surrounding sushi restaurants. Our rolls are always fresh and delicious. The owners are very sweet and willing to help. The employees are very hard working and will do anything needed to make your dinner the best it can be. The food was good. Both the Mongolian Flank steak & General Tso's chicken were a touch too sweet for our taste. But still a good meal. There were tons of tofu cubes in the Miso soup. I almost filled up on just that. The service was great. I studied the Yelp menus but when we showed up at lunch time the Mongolian wasn't an option on the lunch menu. The server said he'd have the cook make it for me anyway. The temperature of the restaurant was a little too warm for my liking and the atmosphere & decor was dim and could use a facelift. Been to this cute little place a few times & each time it's pretty good! We always get the wonton soup and pork fried dumplings which are good. This time we each tried a new dish, garlic chicken for me & sweet & sour chicken for my sister. The garlic chicken was good but spicy! Came here on a quiet Christmas Day as we had a craving for eating out for dinner after a hearty Christmas Lunch. After perusing the options in Pittsburgh, we found that most of the Mexican, American, and other popular spots in the area were either closed already or had been closed all day long (fair enough). We kept searching and voila! Here was Ya Fei Restaurant in Robinson near IKEA, open all day long until 9pm on Christmas Day! We called to make sure and they were open and we made a quick takeout order for Vegetarian Fried Rice, Chicken Lo Mein, and General Tso's chicken. We were able to get the General Tso's without the breading on the chicken, which was amazing! The staff was warm, welcoming and friendly, and the service was prompt! Since I've been living in the Robinson area, I've been searching for my favorite take-out spot and Ya Fei is definitely in my top 3. It's always fresh, incredibly delicious, and comes at a fair price for what you get. Ya Fei is located in the Robinson Town Center plaza and can be a little hard to locate because the storefront isn't huge or flashy. Having a baby this spring has made my boyfriend and I the biggest fans of takeout, so I haven't had the opportunity to sit down for a meal at Ya Fei yet. We've ordered takeout here more than a handful of times now, and I've never had a complaint. Our order is usually a combo of sushi and traditional Japanese food, but I always go for the sushi and it's always amazing! My favorite roll is the crazy tuna roll. It has spicy tuna and asparagus on the inside, and seared tuna, avocado, and caviar on top. My boyfriend really liked the Submariner roll that he got last week. That one has several different fishes, cream cheese, eel sauce, and is tempura battered and fried to a nice crisp. I've always loved the freshness of their sushi and although it's a couple dollars more than surrounding restaurants I believe it's 100% worth every penny. Ya Fei's entrees have also never disappointed. I like the option to opt for all white meat chicken with their chicken entrees. Some of the entrees like the strawberry chicken sound really interesting and are definitely on my list to try when we order from here in the future. Overall, Ya Fei is one of my favorite Asian dining options in the Robinson area. Ordered takeaway from here, for the first time, on a weekend during the pandemic. Ordered the spider roll and sa cha stir fry entree. Total came out to around $37. What's Hot - Service. I ordered from Uber Eats and my food was ready within 10-15 minutes. By the time I arrived, my food was in an Uber Eats paper bag and my name was written on the bag. The stir fry was hot and the sushi was still a little warm, from them recently frying the soft shell crab filling. There were 2 fortune cookies inside, with soy sauce, and disposable chopsticks. They're definitely on top of their game. - Quality. With the exception of the flavor of the sa cha stir fry, which I address below, everything was delicious. The soft shell crab filling of the spider roll was warm and soft. I could definitely taste the flavor of the crab, which I enjoyed. Additionally, they put a decent amount of avocado in the spider roll, as well, which was delish. The creaminess of the avocado added to the flavor, which made me savor the roll. Haha... The chicken of the stir fry was tender and soft. There was a good variety of veggies and a good amount, as well. There were bell peppers, zucchini, bamboo shoots, baby corn, water chestnuts, and mushrooms. - Portions. Enough to make me full and happy. Haha... There's no skimping on the white rice with the stir fry. Additionally, there was enough stir fry sauce that allowed me to soak my rice, which I took advantage of. - Location. It's in a plaza, which helps with parking and making it easy to find. Conveniently located to other shops and restaurants, as well, which helps. - Health and safety standards. During this time of the pandemic, adhering to public health and safety standards is important. There is a sign on the door that states that the waiting area capacity is limited to 3 people. When I walked inside to pick up my food, I saw 3 staff and they were all wearing masks. They appear to be making a good faith effort, which is definitely appreciated during this tenuous time. - Takeout containers. Their takeout containers are reusable and recyclable, which is awesome. My stir fry came in a plastic round takeaway container, with a lid, which is reusable and recyclable. All you need to do is wash it and it's totally reusable, which I take advantage of. The takeout container for the rice and sushi are recyclable, as well. Again, during this time of the pandemic, where takeaway order numbers are probably higher, I appreciate restaurants that make this effort. What's Not - Price. It was $20 for a spider roll and approximately $18 for the stir fry. Almost $40 for 2 dishes is pretty high. To be fair, I haven't had a spider roll for a while and it's not easy finding spider rolls in this area. However, the sa cha stir fry was chicken with veggies and white rice. The veggie ingredients were pretty standard- bell peppers, mushroom, bamboo shoots, baby corn, zucchini, and water chestnuts. As a native Cali girl, where Chinese food is less expensive, I may be spoiled with low cost Asian food. - Quality. Not bad, but not great. I've had better. For example sa cha sauce is supposed to have a spicy kick (not too spicy, but definitely a kick). This sa cha sauce was not spicy at all. The whole reason why I ordered the sa cha stir fry was for the specific flavor of sa cha. That I did not get it was a disappointment. From what I can see of this menu, this place is not a traditional Chinese restaurant. To be fair, the location and neighboring population doesn't support a traditional Chinese restaurant. However, I was somewhat surprised to see curry and sushi on the menu, because that is not traditional Chinese food. However, props to them for written Chinese on the menu! Chinese writing on menus is a good sign to me that they are at least knowledgeable of Chinese cuisine. Final Answer Would be willing to come here again, but may not be a first choice. read more

My wife's order was not as described on the menu, there was no cabbage, and no jalapeños. My chicken and eggplant didn't have any chicken. When we called the restaurant, they apologized. However, they said we had to work through Uber eats. Uber eats hasn't responded quite frankly I don't think I'll use either again. Totally ridiculous.
