Benicia Floor Company did a terrific job replacing our 35-year-old wall-to-wall carpeting with beautiful hardwood. The samples they let us take home helped us choose the best wood for our tastes and our existing furniture. The job was done in three days, despite an ongoing kitchen remodel house-wide paint job, and the furniture-challenge obstacle course that those things contributed to! We chose a wood with a lot of variation, so proper placement of boards of differing appearance was essential, and those guys are artists! TL;DR: 5 stars for the customer service I received from Wayne & Ryan. They are good people and they care about their customers. The full review: I was shocked the first moment I walked in the door when they told me I could just take samples home with me. Didn't ask for my name, didn't check my ID, no deposit required... They just trusted a complete stranger. This was March 2022. Ryan helped me decide on the best materials and came to my house to take measurements. My new bedroom floor was installed by Kelly and Mark on 4/29/22. I had a few issues with the new floor and Wayne wanted me to work direct with the guys who did the install to get it resolved. Unfortunately there were some scheduling issues, followed by health challenges, followed by a surgery... Months passing by in between. I understood, life happens. I waited patiently for over a year. During this time I had reached out to Ryan and Wayne a few times with questions as I was working on flooring in other rooms in my house. They were always helpful and kind. Two months ago I found out that Kelly's health had taken a turn for the worse and he was completely out of the business. When I found out Kelly was never coming back to fix my floor, I reached out to the manufacturer. The manufacturer told me I needed to go back to the store. I sent another email to Wayne. Then Ryan called my husband and told him they wanted to make it right, they wanted me to be happy. I just needed to be patient a little longer. Then yesterday it finally happened. Kevin came and fixed my floor! And I'm really happy. It looks so much better now. I'm happy that I met Kevin and I'm happy that I can leave a 5 star review for Wayne and Ryan. Because I really like to support local business. And I value people that are kind and care about the quality of their work. So much time had passed, I thought there was no way this would ever happen. Changing out our floors started December 5, 2017, with that project ending on December 13. So. Fast. Our house had REALLY nasty floors! Initially when owned by the former owners, the carpet was covered up by area rugs (that were hiding plenty of stains/smells), & entryway tile that was damaged, as well. When we moved here, we instantly knew that we had to change the floors, as one of the first priorities. They were just.. saturated with the smell of urine, as the area rugs were gone. Ryan, Kelly, & sometimes a couple other people were able to finish our 3000+ sq ft house (Only stating for a reference of how much floor they had to deal with) in what felt like a really short time! We needed everything changed. With all the non-floor projects we had, Wayne had a reference. Everyone involved was friendly, polite, & worked very efficiently. They paid a lot of attention to detail. Their workmanship was really impressive. We just had another small project done by them today. Throughout the time it took to change the floors, Wayne checked in several times to make sure everything was going ok. The floors look great! I STILL pause & admire them, as I walk around the house! It has taken me 3 months to write this review, and it's because I'm still in awe over how gorgeous my floors are! Customer service is top notch here. I appreciate what I'm going to call a no pressure sales environment. We were able to walk around and look at the ample flooring samples. When we were ready, Wayne and Judy answered all of our questions, even the ones we didn't think of. They even let us take home two flooring samples so we could see how they looked in our home at night vs day, and overall, if they just looked good in our home. We also really appreciate how they went above and beyond, to squeeze in the measuring of our home for the estimate and then how they worked within our time frame to start the job. Install was great and within a couple of days, we had our floors. When we are ready to do our upstairs, we will be calling Benicia Flooring Company again. Last fall we updated the floor of our home with new Brazilian cherry and decided to take a look at what BFC could do for us. The owner, Wayne, was was very patient in going over our questions and was willing to give opinions and options based on what we were looking for. In the end we picked out a great looking floor that should last for many many years to come. The pricing was good, and the installer he sent out to our home was a floor installing machine. He was able to pound through the job by himself and still finish a bit before schedule. If you have ever had your house turned upside down while the floor is being torn out, you know just how important that is. If you haven't trust me on that one. We like and trust them so much we currently have a quote out from them to do the kitchen floor next. Wayne and Judy's team installed laminate and new baseboards in the first floor of our home. Wayne was extremely helpful in recommending and helping us select laminate flooring and baseboard that matched our furniture and décor. We also had the carpeting replaced on the stairs going up to the 2nd floor. The trim and fit of the flooring and carpeting were perfect. Their installation team did the job right and were unobtrusive while they worked. We've enjoyed the flooring and the new carpeting for about three weeks now and we love it.
