Don't Bother making a reservation they have no idea how to manage a restaurant and were telling everyone to wait an HOUR after there reservation to be seated. It's been years since I've been to one but I'm not coming back. Glad to give small businesses our money instead. read more

The food is great as always. Came for the happy hour, and it's just like I remember from past Benihanas. However, the ambiance in the place is really poor, especially the bar. The bar is in the the main entry to the restaurant and it is extremely bland. They should have taken ques from the Downey, CA location in creating the place. This location is brand new and they are doing a wonderful job. The food is so good! We like to go a little earlier before our reservation to enjoy a reasonably price happy hour. This experience was horrible. Spent 49.00 and was not happy at all. It's seems as if they throw your food together and say it done. My zucchini only 6 and mostly onion. Then you could tell which sauce is which!! I had no soy sauce for my sushi. Just awful i always use to dine in and the so much better!! Today was not it Benihana today!! read more

Sadly this was my first time at a Benihana, and I will never forget it. We happened to get there right before a random city food inspector walked in, so we were seated and given our first appetizer and drinks, only to be stuck waiting a whopping hour and a half for our actual meals. So many things could've been done to right this wrong. The food we had order (stirred fried rice) had been tossed due to food inspector walking in. The floor was also very gross where we were seated and we had to give them notice to clean. Our waiter Bill (The Bald Bartender), was actually really nice and we felt bad for him. We understand it wasn't the restaurants actual fault, however the manager did comp our meal but we never even heard back from them in person which would've been nice. And again so many things could've been done to right our hour and a half of waiting for fried rice. Not sure we'll ever come here again. read more

My wife and I decided to go and eat dinner here for my birthday yesterday and I wish should have gone to IN N' OUT instead. We asked to be seated in the lounge because we didn't want to eat at the hibachi grill. We got seated and a waiter came over and took our drink orders. We ordered water and 2 adult beverages. Our water was delivered promptly but it took 25 minutes to receive our adult beverages which is already frustrating in itself. Then came the ordering of the appetizers which we decided we should just order our entrees at the same time due to the amount of time it took just for our drinks. Anyways, we ordered one sushi roll for an appetizer and two entrees. About 20 minutes after we ordered, the sushi roll and entrees were delivered at the same time. Mind you we never even got the soup or salad yet because that's supposed to be delivered first. The waiter asks us how everything looks and we then have to ask for our rice, the soup and the salad as well as the dipping sauces for the entrees. Our salad was delivered about 5 minutes after our entrees and It took another 10 minutes for the soup and the dipping sauces to come. Anyways, I know being a server is a hard job but come on...everyone knows you're supposed to get salad and soup before your entrees. Anyways, we did complain to the manager and she was very nice and she did comp a meal for our frustration. In any case, the food was excellent but the service was no bueno. read more

So I came here tonight for my birthday. First time at the Temecula locations. It was my 7 year old daughter's first time.Got her all amped up for the cool show they do. Every one in the restaurant but our table got the cool show. We got a tepan guy who said funny banter back and forth but that ain't what we came for. The food was moderate. The service was amazing ... as far as our waiter went HE WAS 10/10 amazing and did the best and did his best with what he had. They ran out of salad but had it when we were exiting the restaurant. This was our third visit to this location. The first visit was about 3 weeks after they opened and was a DISASTER. Overcooked seafood and inedible beef. We returned in April and the service and food had improved. Our visit this week was perfect. The seafood and beef were spot on and our chef knew his routine. Order the New York vs sirloin. I am SO sorry I ever went here. It was horrible from the moment we walked in. I had a bad feeling as soon as we got there. I had a 1pm reservation for lunch. We had to wait for more people to get there before we were sat? Never heard of this before in my life. We had to wait because the other family was late? We should have a been able to sit down and get our drinks at least. It took about 25-30 mins for us to be sat. Our server seemed okay until she told us that she was out partying with her friends the night before and she was hungover. Oh great! No wonder she kept disappearing! She was absolutely terrible by the way. Our appetizers took forever. My boyfriend's food was cold. Our cook was probably the worse we could have gotten. He couldn't do any tricks. Our food had no flavor, was burnt and sucked. Btw they don't devein their shrimp!! I mean how absolutely disgusting is that?! We sat and waited forever. I never thought we were going to be able to leave. We were sat with a family and those kids and we weren't waiting for them to be done. The cook didn't prepare the meals properly how they are supposed to so everyone would get their food at the same time. My boyfriend was done before anyone else. The whole thing sucked and for how much it cost, I have had better food at McDonald's! I would not go back nor waste my time and money to go here. What an absolute horrible experience. There was 16 of us for my grandson's birthday. We had two tables with two chefs and I use the word chef very loosely. Reservation were at 8pm, we finished up after 11pm. I ended up taking food home because it was so late. Our chef was unequipped and inexperienced. It was painful to watch. Food was mediocre at best and the show... no there was no show. One chef was doing a little trick and lost control of a large fork and hit me in the chest. It was an absolute train wreck! You shouldn't open if your not ready and clearly your not!!! read more

We had reservations on a Monday for 6:30, didn't get seated till 7. We had a full table of 9 people and chef didn't show up to start cooking for us till 8.:30 . 3 out of 9 peeps at table ordered the white rice instead of the fried rice and waitress forgot to bring the white rice, as the chef only cooks for those who ordered fried rice. Took about 1/2hr to get bill when we were done. Chef wasn't that entertaining as he kept missing all the tricks. The women's bathroom stall had no toilet paper and was out of soap. We all agreed we will stick with Shoguns moving forward! This place needs to "up" their game for their high food prices. The restaurant comes off completely unorganized. read more

I posted a LENGTHY review about my nightmare experience at "The New Benihanas", but I don't see it. I'm terminally ill and getting out is a monumental task. Took my husband and entire family out for his 65th birthday. It was a HUGE CLOWN SHOW. LATE and VERY UNAPPETIZING cold and ugly sushi, VERY staggered soups, salads...I didn't get anything because the THIRD server thought my appetizer WAS MY MEAL EVEN THOUGH SERVER #1 TOOK MY ORDER, TWICE, as I had to repeat it SEVERAL TIMES AND LOUD ENOUGH FOR THE ENTIRE TABLE TO NOT ONLY HEAR ME, BUT 20 MINUTES AFTER my party got their soups, salads, drinks AND APPETIZERS, did I ask where my soup and salad was ... Somewhere lost in the two attempts of spelling out what I wanted for dinner, assumed the sushi roll appetizers WAS NOT MY MEAL AND minutes later I got a warm salad and cold soup...I was HUNGRY AND THIS WAS A HORRIBLE START. Bottom line is, I don't know how many of my husbands birthdays I'll be able to celebrate his birthdays and I really wanted this night to be special and through an onslaught of bumbling orders, staff asking my guest to show her where the drink she ordered was on the menu because the bartender had never heard of it before and didn't know how to make it. Well, after two servers came to the table to ask the same thing, I'd about checked out by that time. Bottom line is, they should have NOT OPENED UNTIL THE STAFF WAS TRULY READY, they need to know the menu inside and out. There was no working command of the menu, the order in how it comes out IS PARAMOUNT! It was a night I can't get back. If I'm still here next year to celebrate his birthday, you can rest assured it won't be at Bene-HAHA's. Oh, the two week old sushi, the dinner confusing item was supposed to be comped, it wasn't. Took forever to get a server to our table so he/she could take the $8 cost of a very old looking sushi roll off our bill. Chef was amazing and that's why he got tipped and we thank him for cooking for us but reason we came here was for my nieces birthday and she was excited to take a family picture at the end with the Benihana frame but due to the lack of the server Hannah and the other two servers we asked if someone can come take our picture they said yes and disappeared and then we looked for a manager and nothing. It's like no one wanted to acknowledge that we were still there waiting, is so messed up specially on my nieces bday. We literally waited for like 30 min and even after a great tip still nothing. So I just told a server to let his manager know that based on their customer service their tip should be based on and if it was for me I would have not even tipped them at the end. I have been here twice. I think they are unorganized. The first time, they kept forgetting things that were a part of our meals, and the chef constantly had to go to the kitchen. The second time I went, they forgot my friends meal. While everyone had their food and the chef was finished and cleaning up the grill, my friend had to ask if they were done cooking because his plate was empty. I'm Very disappointed Benihana in Temecula. We had a 8:45pm reservation, we walked in, provided my name and time. The hostess was very short and said we will sit soon. As more guess came in after, she provided them with a menu to look at and told them it's a 5 minute wait. Mind you, these guess didn't have reservations as they stated to the hostess. After 45 minutes of waiting we left. This would have been my first time at the establishment but I won't waste any money. read more
