I purchased a tankless hot water heater and pump from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing (BF). BF sent Ron to go over all my options regarding size, costs, placement and install time. A technician came out as promised and on time and completed the initial install. They then sent MATTHEW to complete the install and go over the operation of the system. Matthew is a delight. He was extremely knowledgable, very professional and friendly and courtious. Matthew immedately noticed that an alternative location of the pump could save me money. He advised me of the pro and cons of the pump location and then installed the pump and completed the installation. I cannot say enough positive things about Matthew (and no, he is not a relative or friend). BF's customer service and staff are excellent as well. Their pricing was reasonable. I also joined their "club", which provides twice a year maintenance on my tankless water heater and pump as well as maintenance on my other plumbing, electrical (through Sparky electric) and heating and air (through One Hour). The club also gives me free call outs on any of these three services. I have found that joining this "club" which is very reasonably priced to be a money saver. I love the tankless water heater and pump. I have hot water to any sink in my home within seconds vs. minutes. I have four bathrooms (one is upstairs) a sink in the garage and, of course, the kitchen. So having hotwater within seconds vs. minutes is a real money saver. And I am not heating water all day and night. I give Matthew five stars and five stars to Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. JF Napa, CA read more

Edit: the last person who came finally fixed things but it was proceeded by this: This was by far the worst plumbing company I have ever dealt with. I needed a new toilet and the plumber installed a handicap toilet in my bathroom without even asking me. Then he included a home protection plan for $189 in my cost without asking me either. He was so abrasive and pushy I waited for him to leave so I could speak to the manager. Luckily the manager was nice and sent another person out to install a regular toilet. However, this guy installed it wrong again. He used the bolts from the old toilet for new toilet which made the toilet loose and leak. I called yet again and this new plumber confirmed that the last one was installed improperly too. He used new bolts and bolted down the toilet. He said it would take 30 min but he really took over an hour and I had company at my house when he finished. I said thanks and he left. I went to look at the toilet and it is totally crooked! This was the 3rd installation this company has tried to accomplish and they continue to fail and waste my time. Now i have grout and sealant in several different areas of the floor. Every time they come they leave a mess of sticky brown goo for me to clean up. Not only have they wasted my money but not have wasted a ridiculous amount of my time. read more

We had a leaky hot water heater in the garage and it got bad enough that we turned off the intake valve. By the time I called KC plumbing (they had left a service sticker from 20 years ago), the fires had taken their home and business. Frantic, I googled plumbers and Benjamin Franklin came up. In the midst of the tragedy and smoke and devastation, Jerry came out and gave me options. "I just want a new one" I told him. He took out the old one, and said that Jake would come the next day with the new water heater and parts that he could not get the day he was at the house. And then I asked if he would help me put my new Alhambra water bottle up, as I could not lift it. "Of course" he said.I have NEVER had better service, kindness, and nicer guys come to work on anything in this old house. Both Jerry and Jake went out of their way to help with all my anxiety, and assured me that everything was okay.We had our first hot shower an hour after Jake left the house.The whole company, including those who called and stayed with me on the phone during the fire storm were amazing. I would recommend them 100 times over to anyone needing any plumbing services. read more

I had said before that I would never use them again unless it was for small jobs and I recently hired them for such a thing. The 5 stars I give isn't due to company rhetoric and I'm not being forced to. The 5 stars I gave goes to the hardworking techs and managers who, time and time again, are willing to go to bat for me. These techs in particular, Jerry, Kevin (who sadly isn't with the company anymore), and Skyler, and their manager John Rossy deserve all the praise. I had another job they did for me and their boss charged me nothing for it due to my pass experiences. Even now, I don't consider those experiences to be all that bad--just not worthy of 5 stars. So I say again, your experience will depend largely on the techs. Please hope you get one of these guys. read more

Ben Franklin provides the best plumbing services around! We went to them 7 years ago to have our sewer main line replaced and worked with Dusty who is the best plumber around in my book. A few weeks ago our water heater went out and we decided to upgrade to a tankless. The first plumber who came out from another company quoted us a large sum, and said he couldn't perform the work for a week and that it would take him a full day. Dusty arrived and was able to quote us less money and start the next morning. Dusty arrived promptly on time and got our new tank less water heater installed in less than 3 hours when the other guy said 9 hours labor. I really appreciate Dusty's no nonsense approach and his honesty. He doesn't do the hard sale that other plumbers do and I feel he has the customers best interests in mind. I will be using Ben Franklin for all our plumbing needs and recommending Dusty to family and friends. read more

We called Benjamin Franklin to come unclog our kitchen sink. First, Cari ( I hope I spelled that right), was pleasant, listened to the problems I had been having with another company and assured me that they would take care of us-she is amazing! They sent Nick Graham to our home. He was meticulous, conscientious, and answered every question. He crawled under the house, explained what was going on with our pipes. He cleared the clog and came back the next day and replaced the pipe under the house. Nick was clean, on task and dealt with a barrage of questions with a very personable attitude. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and Nick to my family and friends. If anything goes wrong with our plumbing, I will be calling them and asking for Nick to come do the work. Along with my aunt, her house is aging as well,(the well water on her property doesn't help) She is in her late 70's, MANY different companies have done patch up jobs and have made the situation worse... later letting us know that they can't help unless we dish out way more money than it would have been in the first place. What I appreciate about this company, is that the same guy helped us, Nicholas G, both times with different situations and he was straight to the point of the repair needed with a long term result AND reasonable pricing!!! I like that they connect you with the same person so the experience becomes more personal. After meeting him twice and being able to speak with him, I am comfortable knowing she is in good hands and can call him for any work needed. read more

This business is great. They've had to come out 4 times now through no fault of their own. I have an old house. The first time I needed my oven repaired. That wasn't what Steven was expecting, but he fixed it anyway. And then he even cleaned up my oven! Next time he took care of a plugged drain in the shower. Now Jerry has come two times. A wonderful young man. He, like Steven, explained everything and was efficient. When he had to come back, he immediately saw another problem. Although it was small, it was causing a big mess. Fixed! These women helped us get through a terrible situation with a landlord (that was difficult to say the least) that we fought to have our toilet service repaired. They helped immensely with scheduling, billing and just OVER THE TOP customer service while we were going through a plumbing nightmare. Also, Ray (the technician/plumber) that arrived was wonderful. He helped to get the necessary work done as well as contacting landlord to discuss work and costs. He did everything he could for us! Nick (Nickolas G) came out to take care of some plumbing issues for us. Not only was he very competent, he was extremely professional, courteous and friendly. He went above and beyond to ensure that our issues were resolved. He made certain that he changed shoe covers each time he entered and that bathrooms were as clean as when he arrived when he was done. Quite a feat given the rain and the project. Also, as newcomers to the city, he not only welcomed us but answered some questions about the area and gave us some tips about not only plumbing, water but the area. My water heater was leaking I had no hot water and I called Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for a quote over the phone they didn't do what other companies did and just guess a price they actually sent a plumber out for a free estimate looked at my configuration of my plumbing and my water heater told me the honest price for everything including permit fee and I even had a choice to get a 12 year warranty for my water heater. When I agreed with the price they started the job right away. I now have a brand new water heater and hot water I lover the plumber he was very nice and helped me when I needed it. read more

As a follow up to my original review I forgot to mention the technician who did the inspection on my home. If you ever need a reliable and honest plumber, when calling these guys, ask for Dusty. Really nice guy who taught me a lot about my plumbing. I told him to not bother going under my home because of how muddy it was but he insisted because it had been awhile since anyone had been under there. Nicholas Graham did a fantastic job fixing the kitchen sink plumbing apparatus which had been designed wrong years before by some other company before I purchased the house. I had Nick out to do a home inspection. He was great. Very thorough inspection. Found a leaking Kitchen faucet that I wasn't even aware of. Fortunately for me, I just happened to have an empty container that was located under the faucet that caught all of the water. He had many tips for things that I should be looking for in the future.
