The job was installing LVP throughout the entire 2-story house. They had to remove tile, carpet and…read morewood flooring. They got started on time and worked fast, at first, after two weeks it was a pain to get anyone to show up. Eventually the owner started coming by to do stuff, I guess because the workers were on other jobs. The owner even had to load up all the demo materials that had sat outside for over a week by himself. I'd give the work a C- (might pass with some people and fail with other people). The reason is because I have questions about the craftsmanship. If they are cutting corners on the stuff I notice as an untrained person, then what else is not done right? For example, after installing the LVP there is an obvious space with the floor was not level (the floor was bouncy). I would expect to uninstall, then level the floor, then reinstall the LVP. Instead, they drilled holes in several places throughout the house into the LVP, then injected glue into the hole, to glue LVP to the floor. Now, instead of being bouncy, it feels like rocks are under the LVP. Ex. 2: the baseboards are not flush, and where they are joined looks like a toddler glued it together. I told them that the baseboards should be joined and look seamless instead of fixing all the seams. He fixed the two worst ones and left all the rest of the seams throughout the house. So now two baseboards look good all the rest look like crap. The owner said everything will settle in a year and not have all these issues. I'll come back in 2027 with an update. We went through Empire Today, they were no help. I told them to send someone out to fix everything, they sent the same guy that messed everything up. If you have to go with Empire because of money issues, i get it, that's why we went with them .... You get what you pay for, I'm sure it's worth it for a lot of people. I don't know if we could have done anything different, maybe try to catch problems when they happen, cause once it's done, they are not changing it.

After going through about 5 other flooring companies who gave me high estimates, I was candid with Josh and he was extremely understanding and happy to work with me. The First Choice team was also excellent in answering all of my questions leading up to the project, as well as handling the delay we encountered with sourcing materials running up to my move in date. As for the work product, I was extremely impressed. His team was also kind enough to fix one stair that a previous installer (on already installed flooring) did not do properly - no questions asked. I was initially worried their pricing wouldn't be competitive but i was surprised that their pricing was reasonable and the customer service was fantastic. They sent a manager out to measure and then ordered the product promptly and installed. I selected a challenging pattern (grid) and was glad they I was working with this store because you can tell they are used to more challenging jobs and have a commitment to excellence and attention to detail. Yet they completed the work, cleaned up afterwards, and presented me what I consider a quite modest bill. I watched both of them perform their craft and I was impressed with the level of conscientiousness that both Tim and Ryan did their work. The seams were nearly invisible! I got connected with Ben through a mutual friend and gave him a call. That same evening after a long day of work, Ben was at my house doing measurements and provided an estimate. He also shared the best place to get flooring (I shopped around, but he was definitely right because we ended up going with his recommendation) and offered opinions on color, size, etc. He also tested for moisture and suggested products proven to work that came with a lifetime warranty (the previous floors had bowed because the previous owner went with a hack flooring company). Once the wood arrived the whole job from grinding, leveling, moisture seal and flooring took two days. His team was fast, courteous and professional.
