The regular fries were crispy, stood up instead of being limp or soggy, and had the perfect amount of salt. We also tried the chili cheese fries and those were bomb! I thought the prices were very reasonable for the portions and quality. The cheeseburger was $11.99, the Swole' Chick was $14.99, regular fries were $3.99, and the chili cheese fries were $7.49. We definitely got a good amount of food for what we paid. There's plenty of seating inside and a bar at the front. My only real complaint was the fountain drinks. They don't carry Coke or Pepsi products and instead have RC Cola, which I had never tried before. I'd heard it was supposed to taste similar to Coke or Pepsi, but to me it oddly tasted more like root beer. The diet Dr Pepper was also out--it came out extremely light brown and mostly water. The ice machine also ran out of ice while we were there, but when we mentioned it to Joe, he immediately came over and refilled it, which I appreciated. Overall, we had a good first experience. The food was really good, prices were reasonable, and Joe was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The fountain drink situation could definitely use some improvement, but the food--especially those fries--would bring us back!

My first call went unanswered, and there wasn't an answering service. On my second call, I was able to leave a voicemail. When I called Pain Killers, a kind woman answered within two rings. I explained that I was looking for a venue to host a memorial gathering. She let me know that the person who could best assist me wasn't available but offered to take my number and have them return my call. Within 30 minutes, Austin called me back. We discussed what we were looking for, and as you can imagine, it's not an easy conversation to have with someone you've never met. From the very beginning, Austin's kindness and compassion stood out. His exact words were, "We want to be here for you during this difficult time." Those weren't just words--I could genuinely feel his sincerity, not only during that phone call but in every text message we exchanged over the following week. Each time I reached out, I'd say, "Ok, Austin, last question," only to think of another one shortly afterward. No matter how many times I contacted him, he remained patient, understanding, and accommodating. He answered every question, responded promptly, and never once made me feel like I was asking too much. In the end, it was decided to keep the entire day's gathering at a church rather than the mortuary, so we didn't end up going to Pain Killers. Even so, I wanted to recognize Austin for the exceptional level of customer service and genuine compassion he showed during one of the most difficult times. The next time I'm in the Rocklin area, I plan to stop by, say hello to Austin, and make sure to give Pain Killers some well-deserved business. Thank you, Austin, for reminding me that kindness and empathy still go a long way.

The last time we came (about a month ago) we noticed the food quality went down a little but, but was still good enough... Then today....man....wtf is happening? Look at the amount of meat in the sandwich....also look at the beer selection...its all stuff you can get at the grocery store across the street. We enjoyed watching the Super Bowl LIV between the KC Chiefs and the SF 49ers at Halftime with many football fans in the house. By the time we arrived (which was 30 mins early) the dining section with plenty of high top and regular tables was almost full. There were also some booth seating and, of course, bar seating. Numbers were already placed on the tables making it easy for the servers to wait on the guests. We did find an empty long table by the wall which we later shared with another young couple and his family. Two huge big screens were side by side at the stage and many flatscreens placed at the bar and the pool table area. Our server was awesome, unfortunately, I did not catch her name. We ordered Garlic Parmesan crispy hot wings and Crispy Potato Skins. Good stuff! She kept coming back to check on us. Super nice and friendly! Great atmosphere to watch sports. Asking whether cider was available was met with a rude "No, you can look at the menus." We were all asked for IDs; after she looked bothered about serving a group of 8 and one person didn't have her physical ID but offered a photo on her phone. Two of the group members asking for soda. While California law now allows state-issued IDs to be presented digitally through the CA Wallet app and denied it. However, the way she handled it -- eye-rolling, hostility, and rudeness -- was completely unprofessional. Meanwhile, visibly intoxicated male customers were allowed to continue drinking and then leave by car, while the bartender was rude and aggressive toward a group of eight grown women simply having a drink at 11 p.m. After drinks were served and drank, the bartender continued to employ rude behavior, made a loud scene, used profanity toward us, and ultimately told us to "get the fuck out of our bar." Called one of our guest a "b*tch" This was directed at a calm group of adult women who were respectful the entire time. As a resident I recently encouraged others to check out Hooch's and will definitely encouraged otherwise now. Completely unprofessional and unwelcoming experience. WE HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE. We left immediately and will not be returning. I am very disappointed that as a local resident who would prefer to walk 5 mins to our local bar, will now be heading to downtown Roseville instead.

The wings were dry, which our kid said isn't usually the norm since they order them regularly, but the mac 'n cheese balls were a hit, as usual. Service here is friendly, and the hostesses were warm and welcoming when we first walked in. Our server, Jessica B., was friendly and accommodating, offered solid recommendations, and checked in with us frequently without being overbearing. Our biggest bone to pick, though, was with the chairs in the outdoor seating area. All three of us were uncomfortable and hurting after a relatively short amount of time. The dance floor space is an odd shape: a small square area in front of the DJ then overflow into the walkway from the front door to the first axe-throwing lane. I would say it's the shape of a key or the state of Oklahoma. You won't always be able to see the instructor, so you will have to listen carefully to the steps, copy the surrounding line dancers, or wait for her to move closer to you to demo. After 9 PM, you can make song requests to the DJ to get your favorite line dances called. You'll need to provide the name of the song to the DJ because he's not a line dancer. If you fear a zombie apocalypse, there are 9 reservable lanes to hone your axe throwing. Each lane comes with its own reserved table. There are 12 digital axe-throwing games. This would make for a fun night out with friends. The rate is currently $10 per person per half hour. You can reserve for 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes.
