Pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza slice
    Holly D.

Stopped in for a slice today with a friend. I ordered a pepperoni slice it was ok the pepperonis were not cooked enough for me. My friend ordered a slice of mushroom, sausage and pepperoni he said it was good.

The crust is crispy, the slices and pies are massive and the sauce is good. They're friendly and have great customer service. It's casual and there's seating inside and outside. The only downside is they don't offer a lot of toppings in their pies.

Pizza slices were so great we had to go back and get a whole pie! Service was great, the restaurant was chill and clean.

These pizzas are HUUUUUGGEEE!! Pricey but worth it due to the size. The pizza could have been saucier. Slightly dry. My husband likes his pizza to have a little crunch but this pizza was soft. They deliver.

so I was in town for a thing at a swanky set up that is, generally speaking, a bit fancier than is my usual but not so much that it's gonna leave a lasting mark. true to form the cocktails were fabulous and since food would have detracted from the experience I took a hard pass there. I wasn't hungry but I'd stuck around a little too long and knew a Jekyll -v- Hyde change was in the offing so I got over to Benny's to stay ahead of it. not super busy late night mid week so no waiting to request one slice of veggie and one slice meat-za to go and what's with the 'yes we have no cookies' thing? took a few minutes to get my order het up and boxed but the overhead is enchanting and soothing so waiting isn't too horrible except for not having any pizza while waiting for pizza. is Benny's the best pizza around charlotte? not really, but it is totally the best pizza around 11:00pm midweek midtown. giant slab of well mannered virginian pizza using quality ingredients to cover the whole thing albeit not everything is everywhere to a uniform depth every time but these things are big enough so it's close enough!! took half an hour to get home and sample the midnight pizza. a few nibbles of each slice with a glass of OJ before nodding off to dreamland and visions of the best breakfast ever when the alarm coaxes me awake in a couple hours... Zzzz

Visited this pizza place with my brother after returning from vacation. Hands down the best pizza in Charlotte. Reminds me of the NY style pizza from my childhood. I was surprised by the size of the pizza but once it arrive the cost was worth it. Service was quick and the location, being in Noda, was quirky and cute. Benny's has been added to my go-to place when visitors are in town!

Who doesn't love a giant slice of pizza??? Well, Benny's is the place for you, if you do! I personally find that if you're looking to get 3-4 slices, it's better to just get a whole giant pie. They're open late night until 3am, so it's also good to soak up all that alcohol from the night. It can truly be a savior!!!!! It's your typical no-frills pizza spot with plenty of seating too. Wait time isn't bad unless they are super busy.

Eclectic pizza shop with a super huge pizzas and large slices. There's plenty of parking in the shared parking lot. The staff are chill. Pizza is good. They serve alcohol and support local artists. Hope you have a great experience

Pepperoni Pizza: 4/5 - Standard NY style slice. Nothing special, just pretty good pizza Buscemi Pizza: 3/5 - Wasn't as flavorful as I was hoping. (Big slices, long wait, Italian hot sauce is good) RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Definitely getting this again) 4 - Good (Would get it again) 3 - Ok (Might give it another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Was craving some pizza late night after a comedy show and stumbled across this spot since it was still open. It looked like a local neighborhood bar/ kind of hole in the wall spot but they had a good variety of pizza options so it was good enough for me. I don't remember the name of the pizza I got (probably a beef or steak) and my friend got pepperoni and it honestly wasn't bad at all. I appreciate that they were open late and that's just what we needed.

I was so excited to try this place because I love pizza and Benny Pennello's didn't disappoint! I had the mushroom and garlic pizza! The huge slice of pizza came out fresh and hot! The crust was thin and buttery. It was crispy without being hard. The mushrooms were seasoned to perfection with garlic and other seasonings. I would get extra cheese next time that I pay Benny's a visit as I love cheese and love to have the nice "cheese pull". They were busy which in turn made our wait longer. It was worth it! The have some seating inside and more space in the back of the restaurant. I would highly recommend this pizza place!

We arrived here around 9pm. Luckily we were able to get a parking spot in the lot they share. We waited in and were able to walk up and order rather quickly since there was only one couple in front of us. Although it was mostly full, ordering and the actual wait time wasn't bad. Now, I love pizza. And large, oversized New York style pizza is my favorite. I ordered a pepperoni with garlic mushrooms on top. Never had I had garlic mushrooms on pizza but never will I order another pizza without them. They were the star of that pizza. I devoured this slice so quick, I was already plotting my next trip back.

Just a slice was enough to fill me up. Restaurant is very casual and it's a great price for what you're getting. It's a good spot for when you're craving pizza.

The service from our waitress was over the top good, which I got her name! I had the lasagna with a meatball and extra sauce, which ia literally the best I have had since moving from Syracuse NY. Most sauces in the south are to sweet and tastes like Chef Boy RD......but not here full of flavor with a nice bite to it, would make any Italian Nonna cry! We had little ones with us that just wanted Alfredo which wasn't on the menu, no problem waitress to the rescue again, she has the kitchen whip up a fresh Alfredo sauce, and seriously the first time I have seen the kids finish a whole meal!!! Manager came by and introduced himself , and gave a friendly handshake wich made the overall experience even better! 10 out of 10 and can't wait to go again!!!!

The goat cheese was amazing. I shared my penne ala vodka with my partners chicken parmesan. This is one of the best chicken parmesans I have had. We requested fresh pasta for both. Order their homemade pasta and be prepared to share. Portions were above average. For dessert you must try the cheesecake. Smooth and well balanced. One improvement could be the chocolate cake. This was dry and kacked the chocolate flavor the menu teased. The service was great. Ill be back in September.

Starbucks comes to mind but only because the app makes buying Starbucks easier than making my own coffee. Since opening in uptown, Portifino has become one of those places. I hate to admit it, but there have been weeks where I have eaten at least one meal there every day. Sometimes twice.... Charlotte isn't known for its pizza. I moved here from up north 25 years ago and growing up I. The northeast sets the bar pretty high in terms of pizza. Portifino's is great. The sauce is sweet and portioned perfectly. The cheese is nice and salty, so you actually taste it. The toppings are flavorful, and again, well proportioned. My favorite is the Caprice which comes with tomato, fresh mozzarella, olive oil and fresh basil. It's amazing. The pasta dishes are excellent. I'd recommend the linguini with clam sauce and throw in some shrimp and broccoli for good measure. The Calzones are HUGE. I get mine with Mushroom, sausage, pepperoni and black olives. The But their subs are really what stands out. The chicken Philly has to be one of the best sandwiches in town. I could go on and on here because I've had almost everything on the menu here but no one has the time or attention spans for that. The service is excellent. It's a family run business and it FEELS like a family run business. They care about what they're doing. The person at the counter taking your order has a stake in your satisfaction. Don't get me wrong, we're not talking about Ritz Carlton Gold Standard. It's a pizza joint run by REAL people. But they're good people, and they actually care. That's better in so many ways. My best recommendation is to go get lunch with a friend, coworker, or even by yourself and sit in a booth by the window, watch the city do its thing and enjoy some real food made by real people. It's a great way to spend your 30 minute lunch.

The service was spectacular, our server gave great recommendations and was constantly checking in to see if we needed anything, including keeping our water refilled. We had never tasted anything like it! The pasta has such a funky, fun texture that pairs perfectly with the sauce because it really holds onto it. The shrimp that came with it were amazing as well, a good size and cooked to perfection. We would hands down order this again! We also got the mushroom pizza, which came with plenty of truffle aioli and a crunchy crust with an incredible cheese pull. All the portions were generous; we actually ended up having enough to take home for another meal! Of course, we could not skip dessert. Came with 4 medium-sized slices, so a bit overpriced. - Tagliatelle (3.5/5): The pasta was a nice texture if you like it a bit firmer, but there was hardly any meat at all - essentially no pork. This was disappointing as it felt like I basically just paid for a small portion of egg noodles with one egg on top. It was quite bland. - Orecchiette (4/5): Friend liked it, but it was very heavy and made him feel bloated after/need to use the restroom. I also requested no cheese on my tagliatelle due to allergy and it came out with cheese... so they returned with another one that looked a bit smaller than my friend's, who got it regularly. Beware if you have allergies/make sure to look twice! Our server was nice but the manager serving food to customers looked a bit stressed. I wouldn't come back also because the menu didn't have too many options that appealed to me, but the environment was nice.
