How can I say how much we love the food here it's amazing it had us all in a food coma but totally delicious food I just cant describe the flavors are just amazing so we all order a boil which consisted of various seafood but I had the bowl of crab legs lobster and shrimps with corn and potatoes in a nice spicy garlic butter Omgg it was just the best I have ever had and my son and the king crab legs which were Massive my daughter and husband had snow crab and shrimps they're very simple in a regular garlic butter no spicy which was also super tasty, I highly suggest Bens Crab Oh and we also had as an appetizer The fried lobster tails, it's a MUST along with their flavorful calamari, I can't wait to go back it is worth every buck, our server was super pleasant and he draped our bibs for us all, I will post his name next time, will be coming again soon Bens Keep up the amazing work, also the ambiance was nice and lit the music was popping too lol read more

Went there this afternoon for lunch, food was great. Got the crab and shrimp combo, dry with the garlic butter on the side delicious. Food and service is consistently great over here. Had a great server Peedo (rhymes with speedo, that's what he told us when my husband asked his name). Great service, really excellent. I called back right away and complained Jay one of the workers there said that I could come back in to get another meal or half-price off another. Well well well! What a Gem that has been brought to Uniondale. I have been to the oceanside location twice and fell in love. Now I am just in love with the Uniondale location. The wait was short, lots of employees that were easily known because if the unified attire. The lighting was refreshing, not dim and not too bright. Love the cozyness. Very clean as well. The food was delicious. The biggest crayfish we have ever seen, and large, fresh shrimp in a yummy garlic butter sauce. Our waitress was super helpful, and attentive. The service really couldn't have been quicker. They require you to have your temp taken at the door before entering. The only negative I could say was on a Friday night, they had a DJ with some great music, but if you are looking to have conversation over your meal, that could be really difficult as we could barely hear one another. I don't know where to begin, from the first time I went to this place for dinner, I automatically click with the food; the smell of the dishes, the great selection of food and delightful tasty slamming drinks! I love the staff, this is no exaggeration, they are friendly and nice. I have been eating at Ben's crab in Uniondale since they opened; not one time have I recieved poor service. They are consistent with cooking your meal with care, it's delicious!!! I don't want to sound bias; I have been to many seafood places similar to the menu served at Ben's Crab; NO comparison. The food at Ben's Crab is fresh, most of the other seafood places, their fried items are frozen and is loaded with bread dough. For example by the time you get to a fried shrimp, it's small, but yet looking at the outer dough, you would think it was a jumbo shrimp (NOT)! This doesn't happens at Ben's Crab, the shrimps and scallops are nice big and juicy. Sorry for being lengthy, but they deserve the praise. Now before I go, I must acknowledge the manager Jason, this guy is on point and cares about the people who visits this location in Uniondale. I know Ben's Crab has other locations, but Jason and his lovely hard working staff has spoiled me and my guest every time we go there to dine. I live all the way in Queens and yet I drive 25minutes to get to my favorite seafood restaurant. It is well worth it. To management, please recognized when you have good people working for you, treat them well so you don't loose them. Food was amazing. First time eating cajun. Went on a Friday evening but explicit rap music was playing on the speaker which I don't mind but was too loud. Bass a bit much sitting under speaker, maybe if we sat somewhere else it wouldn't have been so bad. Idk if this is the norm, if so find out what music is playing that evening or sit outside. A great vibe, seemed more like a club scene than restaurant catering more to staff's music, which seemed young. Speaking for Friday 10/1 during dinner, if you dont mind dinner as said as above, the food is great. I would recommend, as it being the first time for cajun food. Personally, if the music was loud, I would appreciate variety than just rap alone. Just got home after two take out orders. As usual, the food was tasty. BBQ shrimp and soft shell crabs. My only concern is that you cannot swap sides. We really didn't like two orders of fries, which is what both orders come with. It would have been awesome to get a small cob of corn instead of two orders instead of fries. Just saying. read more

COMPLETE IDIOTS work here! They served my dish with the plate so hot that I got 2nd or 3rd-degree burns on three fingers INSTANTANEOUSLY when touching it. My date had to give me her glass of water, so I could spend all of dinner soaking my hand in her ice water. When I complained, they said they'd take the dish off the menu -- which happens to be just about the only dish on the menu for people who don't eat fish. Hey idiots, don't take the dish off the menu, just stop putting the dishes in the oven! And by the way, the food itself is lame. They are basically serving Kraft mac & cheese for eight times the price. I can't wait to see what the next restaurant is that takes over the building, when this place goes out of business. read more

I have always loved going to the Oceanside location ! Thought it was great to now have Bens closer - I was wrong The volume of the music was obscene... I couldn't even think of having any kind of conversation with my dinner partner or even the waiter ! I asked the manager if they could take it down a few notches but I don't think they knew how to work sound system . Even he complained of the volume - it was very much more night club pounding music in a half empty restaurant. The food was not on point and no where near as good as the Oceanside location- and the amount of King Crab was definitely not correct - music way too loud to try and fix that issue - just wanted to get out of the place as fast as possible ! Waiter was great - wish we could of spoke- he even apologized for volume , I think as I couldn't hear him . Won't return and to be quite honest there is a much better crab place in town and that's where I'll go from now on . They should decide on what they want to be a night club or a restaurant- as it can't be both - just look at the faces of your customers and the lack of convo going on - way overpriced for the whole place to not be on point ! read more

This was disappointing. It's a new trendy place in Long Island across the street from Hofstra University. The environment is extremely mixed. We went on a Thursday and the place was pretty filled. The bar was always packed. The food was extremely disappointing though. The taste wasn't what I expected considering it tasted like the crab legs were boiled with no type of seasoning nor did they let it marinate in anything. They did have their special sauce that they seemed to throw into the bag and leave it at that. The portions and prices were basically a rip off as well. You don't get much of anything when you pay such a large amount. You also can't switch things outside of what they offer on the menu so you end up purchasing a crap load of stuff that don't satisfy your taste buds. read more

Just eh, definitely not worth going to. My mom who hasn't been able to eat that well from all of her chemo really felt like eating seafood. We knew this place had just opened so we thought "hey, why not, they're close and menu seems great"....wrong. I ordered food for pick up, the gentleman taking my order kept messing up the order when repeating it back to me and eventually repeated it back correctly. I ordered all food to be mild so that my mom could try out of everything. The seafood boil was to be in garlic butter sauce. When I got home and opened all of the food, almost everything was hot. The seafood boil that I ordered specifically for my mom was to be in garlic and butter sauce was in a red extremely spicy sauce. I felt so badly because this is literally the only thing she asked to eat after days of not being able to eat, and she couldn't even eat that because of the level of spice. Brussel Sprouts we ordered were bland and had very little flavor. The only thing that was actually good was the fried shrimp. Cajun pasta, eh. My advice, just go the extra distance to Hook & Reel, I've never had an issue with ordering from them. read more

The bartender was unprofessional and had their friends come in and out of the back of the house. Then when we ordered the crab I only received TWO CRAB LEGS! The order was King Crab for $55 and I only received two. This location is not anywhere close to the Bens on Oceanside. I discovered this little gem last night and WOAH can I say AMAZING spot!!!! I'm from FL so finding seafood here in New York had me extremely happy and this place did not disappoint. I had the crawfish and shrimp bag with the Ben's special sauce and medium heat. The sauce was a bit sweet compared to what I'm use to so next time I will try a different sauce with a hotter heat. The drinks were OUT OF THIS WORLD! I started with a mojito not sure which one, I had a White Russian which was on the house, and the Frenchman which had Hennessy.
