Sundy's exemplifies such a dive bar and is located in Finneytown, about 10 miles north of downtown. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable, and the drink prices are probably too reasonable (but don't tell them I said that!). There are daily drink specials that will satisfy even the hardest of drinkers. Sundy's is "The Home of the Stormcloud" but I always recommend the Nada Bomb: originated on the West side, it is a shot comprised of cherry vodka, orange juice, red bull and a splash of cran. These shots run $5 per, so I always suggest simply buying a pitcher for the unbeatable price of $20 (the pitcher equals about 10 shots, so it's a really great deal, especially to buy for a round). This is an awesome place to have a drink, grab some great food and connect with friends. Great outside seating. Food is much better than most pub food - very good quality and great value. Highly recommend the onion chips and pickle chips! Servers and bartenders are super friendly. Always go above and beyond to make sure you visit is pleasant and memorable. Easy parking across the street and on the streets around Benson's. Big screen TVs to watch games. Highly recommend - good for families, too. read more

I love this place, the food is good but the atmospheres is even better! The staff is friendly and efficient but one waitress stood out in particular on my last visit. I forget her name but she was great. She had a broken arm but managed to be one of the best servers I have had. Quick friendly and hilarious! We will be back and with friends. One overworked employee juggling the entire floor on a half-full Sunday isn't service...it's triage. And the food? Bacon so undercooked it practically squeals, burgers and buns burnt like they lost a bet, and somewhere under the carbon you can taste what used to be a pretty good patty. If you eat in, they have those fancy new platters for improved presentation...I'd rather have good food than a sexy plate. The milkshake is the real magic trick...almost $7 for a "large" that's one-third whipped cream, two-thirds regret (looked like 8-10 ounces of shake). Across the street, you get about 3X more, better, faster, and cheaper. That's not competition...that's a tutorial. To-go order? No napkins, no utensils. Fast food places get that right...and for a third of the price. But hey, nice paper boxes. Really elevates the disappointment. At this point, it's not a restaurant with a bar...it's a bar where food is an afterthought. Fancier plates, sure, but that's lipstick on a burger that used to matter. I wondered by their reviews have tanked. It didn't used to be like this. That's a problem...and yet with all the locations it's as if they think they're worthy of franchising. I could go to a big chain, buy a much better couple of burgers, fries and a shake and afford new platters and still get a better meal and reusable utensils and plates, for much less. I give em 2 years. What private equity firm would even look at such a mediocre product.
