Food was fresh. Service was quick. Ambience is friendly, clean, a lowkey spot is my kind of spot. Been coming here since '07 it was good back then even better now.

Salad could be a bit fresher

First timer . I got a bento box/ spicy chicken. The food was good, and the service was nice. But they really need to deep clean this place- or hire a deep cleaner. The place is filthy.

Bento Box is a Japanese restaurant in Ontario, Ca, hidden behind the Walgreens on the corner. It's always been a place we would go to if we wanted Japanese food. We ordered the Yellow Fever sushi roll, which I found tasty and we added the meal deal, which came with salad, miso soup, and 2 pieces of goyza. We also ordered a side of edamame and the two item Bento Box with Tempura and Krunchy roll, the Bento box also came with rice, salad, miso soup, and 2 pieces of goyza. The Tempura was crispy and battered well, the krunchy roll was also good. We would come back again.

    Tempura and no ponzu

Don't go there. Horrible customer service. Rude. I called about the missing ponzu and was told there's nothing they can do about and the young rude female kept trying to hang up on me and was so rude, I was shocked. Don't go there. This was to have been a treat for my family, neither bento box or doordash didn't care about the issue.

    Ramen

Paid 17 dollars for this ,never again. Unflavored, veggies not fresh, unappetizing, soup felt watered. Service was great but not the food quality for the price they were charging me for this ramen.

Sad little unagi bowl (waste of money)
    Tracy N.

Definitely the worst sushi I've had in years. The quality was terrible but the worst part is how shamelessly cheap they are. Overcharging for the skimpiest portions. The unagi bowl cost $10 and came with a laughably pathetic little piece of unagi. I should've just paid $5 for the 2 pc unagi nigiri... the unagi "bowl" just turned out to be the same thing with a whole bowl of rice. The salmon bowl was similarly sad. The menu didn't clarify that it was going to be salmon teriyaki or whatever it was that we got. I was expecting raw salmon over rice... my mistake for having any expectations for this place. The caterpillar roll... well just look at the photo I attached. Can you find the unagi? Because all I found was a stain of unagi sauce in the corner of the roll lol. The yellowtail was both warm and dried out, like it had been sitting in the open for far too long. Let us pray that I don't get food poisoning. Oh yeah and they provided no wasabi or ginger!! What kind of sushi restaurant doesn't provide wasabi????? Red flag. Just please don't eat here. Don't order from them. They have no problem scamming you of your money.

    ROLL- Bento Box

Stopped here tonight on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with how fresh the food was. Everything I ordered was delicious and high quality. I got the bento box with teriyaki chicken and a California roll. It comes with soup, salad and gyoza. The place seemed very clean and well kept. The girls at the front taking my order were very sweet too. I'm surprised it wasn't more crowded on a Friday night at dinner time. I will return!

    Old warm fish. Not fresh.

AMBIANCE 5.5/10…read more After spending way too long trying to decide what to eat, we finally settled on seafood boil and landed on The Big Catch because of their all-you-can-eat option. Walking in, our first impression wasn't great the building looked a little run down. Once inside, though, the vibe improved. It had a rustic sports bar feel with TVs everywhere, an open bar, and a seafood station. Nothing fancy, but not terrible. EXPERIENCE 7/10 The service was one of the better parts of the visit. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer our questions and recommend a few items. The food took a little while to come out. BTW there's a 90 minute limit after we were seated and the second round of our seafood took 30 minutes to come out (they apparently forgot our order) and they proceeded to tell us we had last call right after our second round of food barely got to the table. Not sure if that's done on purpose but we really didn't really appreciate that. Overall though, the staff definitely made the experience better. THE FOOD 5/10 Here's where things started to fall apart. The first all-you-can-eat platter came with two snow crab clusters, 1/2lb crawfish, 1/2lb mussels, 1/2lb peeled shrimp, plus unlimited sides. One thing that caught us off guard and maybe we just missed it on the menu is that after your first round, you can no longer order the snow crab or peeled shrimp. That was disappointing since those ended up being the best seafood options on the table. The snow crab was solid, and the peeled shrimp were surprisingly good the texture was crunchy and we didn't get any fishy smell or flavors. Everything after that... not so much. Round two included whole shrimp, clams, and scallops. The portions were noticeably smaller, and almost everything tasted like it had been frozen for too long. The crawfish lacked freshness, the whole shrimp had the same issue and were mushy without the initial crunch additionally the shrimp was hard to peel which makes us think that it was POSSIBLY reheated, and the scallops were tiny with a strong fishy flavor that made them hard to enjoy. Even the House/Cajun seasoning didn't do much to save it. It was too oily and honestly just tasted like salt, there was no spiciness either and we got the hot flavor. Ironically, the sides ended up carrying the meal. The cucumber salad was fresh and crunchy, which balanced out some of the heavier seafood, and the sweet potato fries were honestly one of our favorite things we ordered. And one last thing... somehow even the water tasted off. What We'd Order Again Snow Crab Clusters Peeled Shrimp Fish Taco Sweet Potato Fries Cucumber Salad Sausage Corn Skip These Whole Shrimp Clams Mussels Scallops Crawfish House/Cajun Seasoning Cajun Fries Cajun Wings Boiled Egg Water Final Rating If you're going for the all-you-can-eat seafood, don't expect premium quality. The first round is decent, but once the crab and peeled shrimp are off the table, the meal drops off pretty quickly. Would we come back? Definitely not. We ended up paying 90$ for 2 people which you can argue is good since it's an AYCE seafood meal but afterwards after speaking to the waiter we found out the shrimp and crawfish was indeed frozen that along with all the other disappointing food doesn't make us feel like it was worth the money. Overall Gassington Rating: (5/10)

The prices were comparable to other similar places but this place also offers all you can eat (except holidays) but we did not do this as we did not have the appetite. Plenty of parking and close to Ontario Mills. Staff were very friendly. Restaurant could use a facelift in some areas like the restroom but overall relatively clean. We ordered 2lbs medium spice house seasoned whole shrimp with corn and an egg, cucumber salad, and Cajun fries. The cucumber salad has a soy/vinegar sauce. We ordered it mainly to cut the butter/salt from the other stuff, it was decent, there was a little bitterness from the cucumber. The shrimps were nice and plump, only 1-2 were overdone at the bottom of the bag. The flavor was tasty, though I would have liked chunks of garlic in the bag to enhance more flavor. The basil was different than most places we've frequented, a welcomed surprise. Although we ordered medium spice, I think it was more on the mild side. The Cajun fries had a nice bite to them, but were simply fries with seasoned salt/Cajun seasoning on top...I've had better but they went well with the shrimps. Corn was sweet and egg was fine.

Google Maps turns you into a dusty asphalt driveway where, in the front is one stucco building that might have been someone's house at one time, and in the back is one very worn, almost sleazy, one-story building where three tiny Mom & Pop businesses compete for space. There is nothing fancy to see here, with the exception of the tiny, covered patio at the entry and a claustrophobic ordering counter on the other side of a sliding glass door. The patio walls are lined with bamboo, a couple taxidermied blue marlin, and some seaside-themed, tropical decor. There are maybe 4 tables and a cluster of chairs. I imagine, in the heat of the summer, it gets pretty hot and uncomfortable in here. And yet, reading the food reviews will make your heart go pitter-patter. Their specialty is mariscos with a Baja spin. Ceviche, shrimp cocktails, fish soup, fish tacos and burritos, to name a few. They also have swordfish and salmon on their menu. We came for the fish tacos and were we in store for a surprise! The chunk of fried fish in each taco was as big as a huge chicken tender. Our tacos were filled with moist, great tasting white fish (not tilapia)! The tortillas, hence, had to be the larger size, not street taco sized. The batter was crispy and exceptional, with a light, herbal flavor. The finishing touch was a pile of toppings, including shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, finely chopped cucumber, and an insanely delicious white crema-mayo sauce. I think the unexpected cucumber added a unique, refreshing element to an already excellent taco. The only downfall was that the corn tortilla fell apart before I could get it into my mouth. Heh, I can live with that...just give me a fork. If you thought the price of 1 taco ($4.50) was too expensive, you are wrong. One taco here is the equivalent of two tacos elsewhere. That's a great deal! This is not fast food. The fish is cooked to order. Plan on a wait. Although this is essentially a covered, outdoor dining enclosure with a dutch door style gate, please note. Pets are not allowed. There is no pet-friendly section, nor shady areas to park in their bleak parking lot. The irony of this was the number of off-leash dogs we saw wandering around the parking lot. We saw three small to medium sized dogs, and no owner. We ended up bringing our food and personna-non-grata pup home. They did a nice job with the fish tacos, and one of their customers assured me the fried and/or grilled shrimp tacos and mojo de ajo shrimp were excellent. This means only one thing...we shall return, but without the chihuahua fur baby.

I ended up ordering the burrito bowl and the taco platter. Both dishes are made to order as you can see the chef in the area where you pick up your dishes. The staff is all friendly and willing to help if you need something like an extra plate or some utensils. The food was definitely the highlight. Maybe because it was made to order but you could taste the cheese as it's just about to melt between the layers of rice cooling down and the meat still resting. It was a good balance of the colder items in the bowl with the ones just prepared. The seasoning was just right as well. Nothing was too salty or overpowering to the point that I needed to get lots of refills at the drink fountain. The decor suggests that the food style is Ensenada inspired. In that case, I will have to try the seafood and baja style at some point. I definitely recommend coming here if you get a chance. And coming back multiple times if you have been here before.
