We have been here a few times and it used to be good, but the last time was very disappointing. My husbands drunken noodles were okay, but the Pad Thai was bad. it lacked any flavor and looked like it had been sitting for a while since the whole portion in the container was one big clump, noodles sticking together. We've been here twice! The food portion is probably not enough to share but it's great for lunch. We've ordered the pad se ew beef and a chicken one, pad thai chicken, drunken noodles, and of course their Thai teas. I would say everything was pretty flavorful and on point. The service was great and they're so kind! They are located in the Victoria Gardens food hall. Shake shack is right outside the doors and there's a playground outside on the left. You can take your kids outside to play while waiting for food or after you eat....or have a picnic altogether lol. But it's always a great experience when we come that's for sure. The lady at the front was strictly attentive and pointed me in the direction of the menu and allow me to order with her, even though they have the automatic kiosk. She gave me an estimated time for my food to be ready, which was 10 minutes. It was ready quicker than that. I was skeptical due to the entire food court being empty. However, I was pleasantly surprised the food was delicious. I ordered the beef pad see ew! It was definitely one of my faves that I've had. The price was $20 for a pad seat you and a Thai tea. This location is different because you use a kiosk to order is it's limited interaction. It's a food hall so it can get busy but it was chill when we went in. Worst Thai food I ever had for the price, taste and quality. I don't think this is authentic at all- it tastes really toned down to suit non-Asian tastes. Pad Thai - can't smell or taste any fish sauce in it at all. The tamarind is also almost nonexistent. I don't know what sauce they use but it is sweeter than what I'd get elsewhere. The chicken and egg isn't marinated at all. Chicken is rough and has chicken taste that doesn't seem fresh. Portion is small. Tom yum - I don't know what this is either but it's not tom yum. The color of the soup is very diluted and not clear at all. It is extremely sweet. They put a lot of onions in it, which is very uncommon to me for tom yum. Can't taste any spices at all. The lady up front greeted us SO kindly! There was a bit of a language barrier but we pulled out our translate and was so incredibly sweet, we didn't see red curry on the menu and asked for it and she went ahead and made some for us. The Pad Thai was molded into the plastic container like a solid block. The chicken was dry, and the sauce tasted like nothing more than tomato-flavored mush. It was honestly pretty gross. A few of my Yelpie friends and I met up at the Victoria Gardens Food Hall. We were scouting out which food vendor would get our business. I love Thai food so I was eyeing the Elephant Thai Restaurant. There are a couple kiosks available on the counter for customers to order from. They also sell canisters of Thai tea if you're interested in making your own version of Thai Iced Tea. When should I be over your house? I'll have two cups please LOL. I ended up ordering 3 items... Drunken Noodles with chicken, Basil Stir-Fry Over Rice with chicken, and Thai Iced Tea with no boba. Both noodles and rice dishes were with mild spice... that's the highest level of spice I can handle LOL. I want to be able to taste my foods. Everything I ordered were yummy and delicious. Flavors were on point. Spice level was perfect. I would order them again and again. I will definitely be back to try their Pad Thai with chicken and Pad Sewe with shrimp next time. Staff was very friendly. Ambiance was quaint... it has a lovely restaurant front. Wait time was a little bit long though, but perhaps it was dinner time and they were one of the busiest food vendor at the food hall. Prices are average for Thai dishes. Very attractive floweretes wonton wrapper indeed made it appetizing. I was disappointed with the texture of the cream cheese filling. It was bland and the cheese texture was coarsely light that seemed less fat kind. The wait was not worth the taste. I so wanted some good Thai food today. Looking around, I saw that you can order pick up from this place. They have their menu online. It's actually quite limited. Maybe like 7 appetizers, a couple of entrees, and that was about it. I ordered the following: 1. Pad thai noodles with beef. It tasted a little bitter. Beef was tough and chewy. Besides the bitter flavor, there wasent any other flavors in it. 2. Basil fried rice with shrimp- there were may 6 little pieces of shrimp only. The consistency and taste of the rice was pretty good. 3. Thai green curry with chicken- the soup was good and spicy. Deep flavors. Full bodied. It was really good. Chicken on the other hand was dry. How do u have dry chicken when it's soaked in soup. It was like sandpaper. I would rather not have had the chicken in it. 4. Thai pepper steak with rice- again, the steak was dry and chewy. At least they give you a whole bunch of it. The flavors in the rice is pretty good. It doesn't seem like they know how to cook their proteins here. The egg was overcooked. Not runny at all. Pad thai may have been overcooked as it was bitter Some things here just don't work. For example, the coconut milk in their Thai tea. It was confused. The sweetness from the coconut and the bitterness of the Thai tea just did not mesh well. I found a paper vegetable sticker in my soup stuck on a vegetable piece. I guess it could've been something much worse. I do like that you can make any entree into a combo. Which adds 1 appetizer and 1 drink. I got their chicken wings, which was actually pretty good. But overall, I just was not impressed at all. Proteins were all over cooked. Flavors were not there. Sticker in my soup. Prices are cheap considering it's in Victoria gardens. Second worst Thai food I've had in SoCal. This is a fast food joint, though not very fast. We entered our order on a computer screen rather than having a person take our order. The food took about 20 minutes to prepare. I ordered noodles and got a plastic container with about half as much food as I would get for a similar price at a sit-down Thai restaurant. It was ok because they didn't taste very good. My wife ordered fried rice with a fried egg. The egg seemed undercooked, and within five minutes of starting to eat, she puked it all up. She tossed the rest. There was a cold breeze every time the food court door opened, and a loud mob of teenagers wandered through. Ordered papaya salad on Saturday night. But got carrot salad instead, very little amount of papaya and waayy too much of carrots. I had a bad feeling when i saw there's strawberries in papaya salad. One without (mild spice) right away I smelled a burnt smell. It had a little burnt taste to it as well. Now it wasn't bad enough to go let them know. But they had to of known it was a little burnt and still served it. Again it wasn't that bad, but could smell and taste the burnt. I will still return as it was very good even with the small burnt smell and taste. Drinks Had the Thai tea with boba.. this I will pass on next time. My mom recently brought food home from here and she ordered the Pad see ew w/ chicken ($10.95), drunken noodle w/ chicken ($10.95), and pad grapow ($11.95). She said her pad see ew was good, slightly oily, but still had good flavor. There was a lot of chinese broccoli in it (moreso the leaves than stems+leaves), and you can see the egg as well. I did read in a response from the owner that carrots are listed on the menu item, but it has changed and that they no longer add carrots to this recipe so there were definitely no carrots in it as my mom ate it. She did appreciate the portion size of the food and said it was like ordering at a restaurant. I enjoyed my drunken noodle dish. The wide rice noodles were a good consistency and chewiness as they should be. I haven't really tried a "bad" noodle before at a thai place. It already comes with a spice cooked into it, but they also gave a small cup of more spice on the side. It looked like chopped chilis but I'm not sure if its thai chili peppers maybe? but you can see all the seeds in it and I ate a small amount with a bite and booooy oh boy it was hot hot hot lol so I used it sparingly while eating. The noodles also have egg, green & red bell peppers, basil, and onion. They really don't skip out on the basil! Especially when I was eating the Pad Grapow (chicken basil w/ fried egg). The ground meat was super scrumptious and full of flavor and I loved seeing it soaked into the rice as I kept eating more and more getting to the middle of the bowl. There were also chopped up bell peppers and onions in it. Everything complimented each other well and the whole dish was just delish! It looks like a small container but with the whole thing being filled with rice and topped with ground meat and veggies, it's pretty filling. But I ate it with the drunken noodles so I was super full and still had more leftover. But thai leftovers the next day are seriously the best! This is right across the street from me within walking distance so if I really want some thai food right away, I'd happily order from them! read more
