A lot of good things about this place are good. Simplicity always wins the day when it comes to dishes. Especially asian ones. Sushi is a tried and true trope and here is plays off in spades. This is simple, cheap-ish sushi and prices are reasonable. This is NOT top tier stuff. This is low to mid range but the tastes are done well and it's clean. Thats a big necessity. All in all id come here again. Took the wife and got the bento boxes. Definitely full. Definitely satisfied. Ones said this is better then pei wei... their totally different. Super overpriced for mediocre food. The chicken hibachi rice had almost no flavor and while there was a huge portion of it, there were only two tiny Yum Yum sauces and no other sauce to jazz it up. The crab rangoon were bad, again hardly any flavor, but the sauce with them was different and yummy. The Kara-age chicken appetizer was nothing but chicken nuggets, and it was supposed to have a spicy dipping sauce, but there is nothing spicy included with it. Maybe one of the Yum Yum sauces were supposed to go with that, but it definitely wasn't as advertised. The beef udon noodles were delicious, and the mango sushi roll was very good as well. I love some sushi but ended up going with their build your own poke bowl instead since I can't get enough of the poke! It was delicious and my family loved theirs as well. I really should give them 5 stars because I've always had great service here since they opened. And I'm over them not having boba tea as soon as they open, just glad to have it in the neighborhood at all! However I do wish they would skip waiting tables during lunch because some days I just want to have everything paid for ahead of time so I can leave right when I'm done. They've definitely updated their menu quite a bit leaning more towards Japanese, but I think it's for the better. My husband and I LOVE their ramen (his fave is Tonkatsu because, pork belly) and poke bowls (I love making my own with seaweed salad). The food is always fresh and generally given in a timely manner. What slows them down at night are the sushi orders (incl. poke bowls). They only have 2 guys working the sushi bar, and they take pride in their work, so if it's a busy night and you don't have time to wait, try ordering something from the kitchen instead. The lunch special for the bento boxes is the best deal ever; they both come with a little cup of miso soup and ginger salad for 9 bucks. PS the reg bento boxes are much more filling than the sushi, but I go for the sushi when I want something that makes me feel full, but doesn't weigh me down. read more

Excellent new Pan-Asian restaurant in the Forum. The decor is clean, modern, and chic. My husband ordered the Tonkotsu ramen, I requested the teriyaki chicken bento box, and we split a red lady specialty roll. My husband specifically requested a trip to this restaurant so he could try the ramen, and he was not disapointed. I tried some of the broth, and it was really flavorful. The only thing I noticed that looked a bit off was the shoyu egg. Ramen we have tried in the past usually has a semi-soft yolk, and this one was fully cooked. This is a pretty minor issue, but I was a bit disapointed because I was looking forward to stealing the egg for myself. I was very happy with the variety of flavors and the portions of food that came with my bento box, everything was delicious! I especially enjoyed the dressing on the salad, it was a lot creamier than your average ginger dressing. Yum! The sushi roll was tasty. It wasn't the most epic we've had in town, but very solid flavors and textures. Everything came out fast and at the ideal temperature. Service was on 100% on point, absolutely no complaints there. This place rather surprised me. My friend recommended this place to me but my first impression made me think I wouldn't like it as much as I did. We order the spicy shrimp appetizer, solid effort and tasty. We also had some shrimp pad Thai and the red lady roll with another spicy yellowtail hand roll. The food is consistent and yummy. I love hibachi and Asian food and eat it basically every day but I was pretty disappointed with the salad. It was so small and looked like someone's crappy leftovers. The clear soup was really spicy. I've never had spicy clear soup before. The fried rice was good and I loved the shrimp. The veggies were pretty flavorful and went well with the yum yum sauce but some of the vegetables seemed like they were old and just trying to get rid of them. I would try this place again because it has good reviews but am now a little skeptical. I also ordered a shrimp tempura roll which was pretty small but it tasted good. I wish there was avocado in it! Although the fare favors Japanese and Korean, the staff appears to be Chinese. No problem. The food is quite good. The concept is that you order and pay, then they bring your food to you. It works well and the wait is short. We each had a Bento Box, figuring that it is their specialty: one with Korean Beef Bulgogi and a Sushi Bento Box with a Shrimp Tempura Roll. Both were excellent. This is a "mom & pop" stand alone place but I suspect that if they are successful they would like to franchise it. I certainly wish them the best of luck. Highly impressed by this Asian fast casual spot. Put it to the ultimate test by joining wife for late lunch right after trying Pei Wei at work. Long story short, should have skipped Pei Wei. So much more flavor and quality in every dish here! Tried King Pao chicken bento box, Thai basil chicken rice bowl and an Angel roll from the sushi selection. Wow. I am extremely impressed by this place. The food was amazing. The only downside I would say is that when I ordered the hand rolls, there was only one small one that came with it. So that was pretty disappointed in the serving size for the higher price. We also got dumplings, the chicken kind. They tasted amazing, they were just a tad bit burn. Then we also got the crab Ragu them. They were phenomenal as well. They had a different sauce than normal that came with them, very very spicy. I kind of wish they had the original size. Daughter and I went in for lunch and we both had bento boxes. The food was plentiful and a good variety (main dish, jasmine rice, lo mein, mixed veggies, ginger salad) in the regular bento. I had the Japanese style curry. Was a good mix of chicken, snow peas, carrots, onions, the curry was flavorful but not overly spicy. I would have preferred spicier but it was a good level to meet the pallets of most customers. Daughter had the chicken teriyaki which I tried as well. It had a good sauce, not overly sweet, and didn't overpower the chicken itself. Would definitely try this one the next time. I appreciated that they had silverware, extra plates, and even to-go containers set out next to the drink station. It was quiet, well lit but not overly bright. The staff was friendly. Looking at the overall menu I would say the food is priced very well. The sushi is priced in line with reasonable expectations but the bento boxes were a great price for the amount of food. The only con I would say at the moment was the lack of a kids menu that I saw, but I think the variety of the items on their sides/a la cart sections I'm sure this could be worked around. At the time of this writing, the lo-mein side was only $2.50 and a soup was $2.00 approx. which was in the ball park of exactly what my daughter said she wanted next time. I've had their noodle bowl with teriyaki chicken and if they give a lot of food.I am not too sure on when it comes to their delivery if they deliver I think that could take them to the top, but without the delivery if you're craving something Asian, tasty and well prepared, this is the place to go. I've been here several times now and I still believe that the food is great. It is always always presented an appealing way and the services is fast. Above average decor and cleanliness, very extensive menu, and friendly service. Char Siu pork buns were twice the usual size and tender, rolls were fresh (a little heavy on the sauces tho- ask them to ease up), and hibachi steak combo really hit the spot. After all of the great reviews of bentofu that opened up in the Forum, cousins and I decided to give it a try. Its similar to Pei-Wei style and food was just alright. Rice is on the dry side, and noodle doesn't have enough seasoning. Beef bolgugi and sezchuan shrimp was good. My son loved his teriyaki chicken bowl and the mango boba tea. The cashier up front didn't put our scallion pancakes in for us so we never got it. They are pretty new so there are still room for improvements.
