Absolutely awesome every time. Family owned one of a kind restaurant with really fresh food and well put together meals. All the soups are perfect and the Bento Boxes are generous in portions. Our first trip back since the remodel. The atmosphere is now more restaurant style with table side wait service. They have also added more items to the menu such as Hawaiian poke (less the poi though) as well as more appetizers and other things. It is very hard to find fresh, delicious sushi or boba tea drinks in Ft. Myers. I ordered the spicy tuna roll which was cheap! I think like $5. Very fresh and spicy like I want it! The boba tea I ordered was the large Taro smoothie with the boba. It super sweet, thick and the mini boba is on point! That was like $5 also. None of us had ever been here and we were pleasantly surprised. Very fresh sushi and sashimi, which is key for me as I have a sensitive tummy. My wife's bento box was huge and my chefs choice combo was too much for me. My brother in law eat what I could not. So portion/price equals a great value. My biggest disappointment was no table service and a bit confusing since we were 9 persons and shuffling food to our table from the kitchen was tedious. Who had what, what came with what, and so on. Bentofu is a relatively new restaurant located in the Forum Plaza near I-75 and Colonial. It describes itself as an Asian Diner that also serves sushi. At the entrance, guests are asked to read through the menu prior to ordering. There are different types of Susi Bento Boxes ranging from $8.95 to $13.95. There are signature plates where you can combine Sashimi and Sushi up to a high of $24.95. Their main dish is the Wok Stir Fry where you pick either a Bento Box (for $8.95) or a rice or noodle bowl for $7.95. You then add your protein (chicken at no extra charge, Beef and Shrimp with an extra dollar charge, or Tofu. You then select your recipe. These recipes for the Wok Stir Fry include: Honey Teriyaki, Spicy Szechuan, Spicy Kung Pao, Mongolian style, Ginger Broccoli, Thai Basil sauce, Japanese Golden Curry, Korean Bulgogi, Mandarin Orange or General Tso's. I selected the Crunchy Tuna Roll for $9.95 while my spouse selected the chicken Wok Stir Fry with the Korean Bulgogi recipe. Both were delicious. The Wok Stir Fry order was quite large. The Thai Jasmine rice we selected was very abundant. It gave it value for money although the chicken pieces were not commensurate to the size of the rice bowl. The venue is accessible but not very visible so there were not too many patrons. Everything is self serve (from ordering to getting the drinks) but they will give you the option to tip at the check out. The venue was clean. The staff were mostly Asians which adds to its authenticity but the background music was country! The music didn't seem to add to the Asian ambiance. My wife and I spent $23.41 including tip and including a flavored Lychee green tea drink. There are also Passion fruit tea, mango tea, kiwi tea, strawberry tea etc. Overall, we were satisfied with the ambiance, the location, the cleanliness, the food choices and the taste of the food. My daughter wanted Mochi for dessert, and thought this is what she was ordering (they had already taken the menus), but received a drink instead. When the drink came, I sent it back, knowing that it wasn't what my daughter wanted. The waitress who took the order came over to my daughter and was VERY confrontational, telling my daughter that THIS IS WHAT SHE ORDERED! I told her to keep it on the bill, and to bring the menu, so we could be sure to order the correct dessert. My very eager to please daughter was mortified, apologized to the waitress over and over and told me she felt awful. Great place to get Asian food. You can find lots of traditional Asian foods here such as sushi, boba Thai teas, and udon noodles. The most interesting thing is that serve your boba Thai teas inside glass cups, something I've never seen before. You can even also get chocolate, strawberry or green tea Mochi ice cream desserts. It's also reasonably priced for the most part, although there can be pricey items, but for the most part you'll find things to eat on that you'll enjoy. The waitress was very sweet, but did not know much about the menu or how to divide a check. We had said before ordering that we were 2 separate parties yet the sushi was not separated by person. This restaurant is also NOT vegetarian or vegan friendly. Ordered the miso soup and asked if it contained fish due to an allergy. Was told "don't eat it" after it was served without any other explanation. Only veggie rolls and avocado rolls as options unless you want plain white rice. Asked about military discount when we gave our cards to pay and got no answer and no discount. Also came back charged more than the original bill because items had been forgotten and added without checking with us first.
