Lasagna
Sandy M.

We really wanted to like this restaurant. Having lived in the Lewes area we are always looking for a small family run restaurant that isn't part of a bigger chain. We went and ordered 2 basic things any Italian restaurant should be able to make well. Lasagna and Chicken Parm. We also ordered Minestrone soup. The soup was barely pink it was so watery. The lasagna was like one big noodle with a mound of burnt meat in the center, no ricotta cheese. The noodle was wrapped around the meat with little sauce. The chicken parm tasted like a frozen chicken cutlet, deep fried. A bit of watery sauce. Topped with a square edged piece of cheese, like a Kraft single. The salad was very nice. But sadly we won't be back, nor can we recommend to friends and neighbors. We are disappointed at best.

Smothered in sauce Lobster Ravioli with tiny shrimp

A step above Olive Garden for authentic Italian cuisine. At Olive Garden the ambience is clean and comfortable. Villa Sorrento needs to stop putting band aids on their aging seating. I wasn't impressed with the ratty looking rug that covers the eating area. The dishes we ordered were smothered with sauce as seen in the photos. The sauce was tasty but overwhelming for a dish of pasta. I get the feeling that this restaurant survives by its take out orders. This restaurant has lots of potential... they need to up their game and do a total makeover.

Horrible pizza. We got the plain cheese pizza. It was like chewing on thick dry dense bready bland cardboard with a paper thin layer of sauce and barely any cheese, Just to clarify, it's completely devoid of flavor and has a very thick tough texture. You'd do better - much better - with any frozen pizza, like Ellios. Yea. It's that bad. We were staying in a hotel across the street, so its only redeeming quality was that it was conveniently located, but if we knew it was this awful we would've driven anywhere else. Unfortunately, and surprisingly, despite so many folks from NY and NJ in Lewes and Rehoboth, the pizza choices are almost nonexistent.

Spaghetti and dry bread

Really kind staff. But the food was subpar for the price. The Alfredo tasted like butter. The spaghetti had burnt garlic and so much sauce that all of the noodles were mixed into, it tasted like $7 spaghetti from a pizza shop. Dry flavorless bread, would probably choke without the butter. Small portions. Significantly overpriced for the quality & quantity of the food acquired. But the serving staff was kind and professional.

A hidden gem with exquisite authentic Italian food. The service is impeccable. And the owner may surprise you with some Italian opera

Amazing, extremely good food. Loved it and will be back. Each trip to Lewes/Rehoboth Beach, my family and I will make sure to stop here.

The food was spectacular and generous! Fairly easy to get a reset for a large party, and a comfortable atmosphere.

Don't go here. Receptionist/Owner was rude. Food was subpar. Worst meal I've ever had at a restaurant.

The Lasagna was served in a very generous portion. Having not had Gnocchi since I was very young, it took me back to days long ago in NY. While the entrées were delicious, I was disappointed when I found out the NY Style Cheesecake was made in-house and the wedge served to me was undercooked, slightly runny, missing the tart afterbite of known NY Cheesecake (Juniors as an example). It wasn't bad but it certainly wasn't the quality I would expect a Bronx native to sell in a family owned Italian restaurant.

I call them my $ 40 cookies, this time they were $ 50... cost of inflation, I understand. I like the chocolate cream cheese $ 11 / lb and the chocolate covered macaroons $ 17 / lb. Both are delicious and always the same, which is good. I also bought a package of Crostini Italian crackers, $ 5. I brought them back home, opened them and was almost sick to my stomach, they smelled awful. I took a bite and spit it out. I looked at the expiration, it was 12/21/2025. I called the restaurant, as I was now 3 hours away from Rehoboth. I spoke to Charlie the manager. She was rude at best. When I explained to her that they wre expired, she went to the shelf, returned, and confirmed that they were expired, and said she was sorry and she would refund me the $ 5. I then asked her why I was overcharged for a box that was 1/2 macaroons and 1/2 chocolate cream. She said they are categorized as "assorted cookies" and the fee is $ 18 / lb!! She said next time I came in..... I replied that I also run a business. That I was already charged for expired food, and felt that I was OVERCHARGED for cookies. I stated it would be good customer service to offer to refund $ 10 for the overcharge of cookies, since I was already sold expired food. (Not sure how Delaware state laws handle the problem of selling expired food.) She then said I was "disrespecting her" and hung up!!!!! This is TERRIBLE customer service. I'm giving 2 stars due to the cookies being delicious. Next time, each different cookie will be in a different box, so I'm charged properly for the poundage.

We ordered the eggplant stack and a carbonara "sorta" pizza. The eggplant stack was like a deconstructed eggplant parmesan . The eggplant was perfectly fried and the ricotta mix in between the fried eggplant was flavorful. I would return for this alone! And yet when they brought out the pizza, I was mesmerized. I've never eaten peas on a pizza before and this was just divine! Cheesy pizza with slices of ham, dollops of more of the delicious flavored ricotta on top. WOW. Vibe was cool. Their Thursday night steak special is great. An 8oz of filet mignon and a 10$ credit towards a glass of wine for $35. The cheeseboard is also really good. Service was extremely slow, ( we ate early and the place wasn't that busy). We ordered cocktails and then we find out (one at a time), they couldn't make mine (I'm not really sure why), then the other cocktail from there cocktail list -they ran out of ingredients....like really?? My appetizer was ok, was hoping for it to be a little better (the shrimp & polenta). We also had olives and the baked Brie. Entrees 2 pork chops, mine was a little thinner than our guest. He really enjoyed it; I did as well as I got closer to the bone it was better. The first couple of bites seemed to be dry. We also had the lamb shank and a burger to go with our Black Stallion Cabernet. We will be back again supporting local independent restaurants. I do wish they had 1/2 stars, I would then give it 3.5.
