I cannot comment on the food because unfortunately we did not get to try it. My partner made Valentine's Day reservations for 8pm. We arrived and were told it would be about a 20 minute wait, which we were totally fine with. We understand Valentine's Day is a crazy busy night. 40 minutes later, we were seated. Multiple people walked past us and didn't greet us. People sat after us were greeted and their drink orders were taken. We waited 25 minutes at our table without anyone greeting us, without water or drinks. We thought maybe there was a misunderstanding on who was serving us so we politely informed the manager that we had been waiting 25 minutes. 10 minutes later, still no one came by and so unfortunately we decided to leave. Overall, really disappointed with the communication. We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes total past our reservation time. It's not the servers fault, they were obviously overbooked and understaffed. Hopefully they can work through this for future Valentines Day's. read more

After driving for over 5 hours, I had no desire to get back in the car to find dinner. This place attached to the hotel definitely hit the spot! I ordered the Artichoke Spinach Dip, and Chicken Tetrazzini that came with a Caesar side salad. Portions are very generous and I wound up bringing half the tetrazzini back to my room for later. Speaking of, I've not had tetrazzini this good since my grandma last made it YEARS ago. Service is amazing, my waitress was very attentive, and the decor & lighting were just right. Ordered takeout for dinner. Called around 4PM for a pickup at 5PM everything was ready and was still hot so I appreciate them timing so perfectly. Everything was really nicely packaged with the soup having a plastic bag around it in case of leaks. Price, timeliness, packaging, and taste was a win in my book. My order was as follows: Calamari - super crispy, light breading and a varitey of the circular and tentacle-y pieces. Paired with the classic marinara as well as a tartare sauce, which was the right amount so no piece goes unsauced. Lobster capelleni - 3 large rolls of capellini filled with cheese and nice portions of lobster then smothers in a white sauce. It was deliciously greasy. This dish was also served with a soup or salad. I chose the tomato bisque, which was creamy and loaded with butter. Ribeye - a perfect medium rare and so incredible juicy! For the price, this was amazing. This specific cut of meat might not have been the finest but it was delicious. I also liked how they left the extra juices so when reheating, it was still the same juiciness as the first bite. Meat comes with a side and also a soup salad. I opted for the crispy brussel sprouts which were pretty oily (nothing a little dab dab with some paper couldn't fix). I chose a cesear salad for the app here - romaine lettuce was coated a good proportion in the dressing and the croutons were still crunchy when I open the container. Win! read more

Service was great, everyone was very friendly and amiable. Food could've been a little less oily but it was still tasty. I got the chicken carbonara, it's very rich, I would prefer if it were less oily so I could finish it there. I might've had too much bread and appetizers beforehand, but I couldn't even dig into it at the restaurant because it was so oily. I took it home and it made a delicious snack later when I had an empty stomach. The drinks were also good. My friend got a pizza and it was also tastey but looked like it came frozen and not made fresh. My one critique would be that the food could be a little more fresh and less oily. This restaurant is attached to The Holiday Inn Madison West. I came in for something to eat to take back to my room. I ordered a calzone that I chose what was inside. It took about 20 minutes to make. When I got back to my room to eat it was huge, hot and very good. It came with a small cup on red sauce on the side. It was so big I could only eat half of it. Unfortunately I didn't try anything else to I can't comment of that. read more

I'm perplexed by the host of negative reviews for this restaurant! The food we had was excellent and the service very fast. Our courses overlapped each other but just by seconds. I studied several one or two star reviews and can only guess as to what prompted them. The first 5 or six one star reviews were done by females. My thought...if they only are used to getting food out of a bowl on the bar,that could explain their reviews. Or, perhaps they were citing food/ service during a bad time for this restaurant. Almost all of the reviews were 3 or more years old. In any event, although pricey, was first class. Try it you will not be disappointed. If you're an Italian restaurant and you don't know how to cook your pasta al dente, you should just cease to exist. That's pretty much my take away from my experience here. I spent $24 on a mushy plate of pasta, and ended up eating half of my kid's $6 grilled cheese and it was much more satisfying and well done. We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn that houses this Benvenuto's. Our daughter has peanut and tree nut allergies- and we thought "how great it would be if the restaurant in the hotel could accommodate people with food allergies." Well, this is NOT the place. Upon asking we were told no - they were not safe and couldn't accommodate. This is common, but it was the attitude and the complete lack of understanding that was unique. It's very disappointing when businesses treat people this way. Looking at their menu - it appeared only one item had tree nuts (almond) so it probably wouldn't have taken much effort for the managers to educate and take measures to be safe. It was apparent they just didn't care. Can't say if it was good food or not as we (of course) didn't dine there. But based on bad attitude I'd go up the street and dine elsewhere. read more

Ordered the ribeye steak. While it wasn't the best I've ever had, it hit the spot and satisfied my hunger and yearning for a steak done medium rare. It was cooked as I asked. Not the most flavorful, but it came with a little packet of A1 which came in handy. I ordered the spicy chicken Cajun pasta for my husband which he said was pretty good. Nice option. Nice little bar and restaurant attached to the Holiday Inn Suites offering an extensive selection of Italian food. This is our third time here and everything we've tried is delicious. Prices are reasonable, food is served hot, and service is excellent. I've never seen it busy here, probably because I come by for lunch. If I were staying at the adjacent hotel (the restrooms are actually in the hotel), particularly if I didn't have a car, I would definitely eat here. We had a party of 16 and the service was excellent. Caring, efficient, and very capable - - really laudable. The meals for this large group were came out in good timing, though, it has to be said, the place was really empty. In fact, it was the feel of the place (position, layout, visitorship) that made it feel like a place to go if you are, basically, trapped in the hotel. The food was average to above average. The spaghetti & meatballs next to me met approval (huge meatballs; big portion size); the person across from me said her particualar meal was too salty; the raviolis looked good, if the portions were modest; and my pizza was ... interesting. A very thin & crisp crust with three meats started out kind of plain and monochrome - - reminiscent of a microwave pizza - - but this 'za kept getting better and better with every bite, and by the end was satisfying. Truly OK food. Would I go back? If a group of 16 needed a virtually empty restaurant for a get-together, with great service, and acceptable entrees, then by all means. read more

So this place is very close to my office and I've eaten there a few times, but I've made a rule to only go if (a) someone else is paying or (b) when I have a groupon. It isn't an awful place. Not by any means. The food is passably good, the service decent, and the portions large, but the decor is a little hokey and dated and well... it's just a little pricey for what you get. I have never ordered anything I hated here, but I've also never had anything that keeps me up at night fantasizing about a return trip. At a lower cost point, I think Biaggi's would be a hit. It's a family friendly restaurant, with better food than say... an Olive Garden, but it isn't an amazing Italian bistro with homemade pasta, and with prices per person in that $20-40 range, that is what I expect. Has living in Madison for a decade made me a snob? Well yes... and I like it that way. Ultimately, better than a chain, but not as stellar as some of the really excellent local options we have in the area. Having said that, I'll likely be back... when someone else is paying. read more

My mom and I came here on a Groupon that was about to expire. We failed to realize that the Groupon said "dinner for two," though we had planned to go during lunch hours. When we asked our server if we were still able to use the Groupon, he accommodated us, though stated he had to give us the dinner menu, which made complete sense. We were just happy they were willing to work with us on our misread! Our server Alex was very attentive, kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I don't think I've ever had my water glass kept so full when I have dined out. We ordered the lobster ravioli and a chicken caesar salad. The salad was refreshing and hit the spot, while the ravioli really stole the show. The sauce was light and did not overpower the lovely lobster flavor of the ravioli. I was also glad to find that there was ample lobster in the ravioli itself to keep my tastebuds happy. The service and food were a great start to our mother/daughter fun day! Here for 2 weeks at the hotel that this place is at. Worst service ever. They get a star because of the ciabatta bread and the steak is not bad. The service on the other hand... Just came back after standing there to wait to be seated. The manager and another person were trying to do things on the computer. They did not acknowledge me at all. Another of the staff walked past to the back and no acknowledgment. Had a steak the other night. Napkin was dirty as well as a knife. The waiter forgot the ciabatta but exclaimed he is always thinking about how good it is. First time I had dinner there, the napkin was dirty as well. Had to wait a while to get seated. Going for breakfast (only because it is free) and I just end up seating myself. I have frequently seen staff sitting on there phones and not paying attention. I just seat myself. I have not had 1 good experience eating here except for the flavor of the food. So the cook is doing something right. If I had a vehicle I would be at other places. Really pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of food here. I ordered the Alfredo with broccoli, cheese bread and a salad. The Alfredo was flavorful and big fresh pieces of broccoli were included. The cheese bread was like little pieces of garlic bread with loads of melted cheese on top, served with flavorful chunky marinara, soooooooo good. Came with 6 pieces too. Also, got this to go and they included salt and pepper, which was appreciated. And when the delivery boy forgets your food they don't offer to make you a fresh order or offer a discount for next time, no they bring the now cold food that should have made the first trip. I have had the stuffed cod, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, truffle Mac & cheese. All have been a high disappointment. Ordered room service while I stayed at the hotel upstairs. Their calamari is to die for, their rib eye steak is really good, go for the 16 oz. I added fried shrimp but it was really nothing special, would not suggest the shrimp. The tiramisu was the star attraction, in fact one of the best tiramisu I had ever had!! So moist and decadent, a must have!! All in all they serve some really good food for a family run chain, as close to being authentic as you could get. read more

I decided to try it (especially since the hotel gave me a coupon to use) I at there twice and both times it was empty (which I don't mind) the service was good and the food was good too I had: Smothered cod: I liked the taste but it was a bit oily (from the pounds of cheddar they put over the cod and shrimp) the garlic mash was good too Shrimp Alfredo fettuccine: This dish was humongous and tasted good(although I added salt ...but I always add salt...I know I know ) Both meals had loads of shrimp. I ordered through Ubereats. My order came fast and hot. When I opened the bag, the chili was not in there. The person that prepared my order " Alejandra" just put in the soup of the day. Beer cheese was the soup of the day and I absolutely HATE beer cheese. I also ordered 1/2 chicken 1/2 shrimp and I received all shrimp. I called the store and Alejandra explained that they are out of chili so she just decided to give me whatever. She also states that I could only have one or the other for the tetrazzini. I informed her that order often and I always get half and half as long as I order the most expensive option. Not happy at all. I've been in the service industry for 12 years and this is not how you do business. I usually don't write bad reviews because I get it. Our family took my mom here for her birthday- what a huge mistake. Our reservation was for 7:00 and we were sat immediately, but no one came to our table to even give us water for 15 minutes. It might had been longer if we didnt go back up to the hostess and inform her that no one had helped us or even so much as checked on us. From there, we had to ask twice for the complimentary bread (which was salty beyond reason), the waitress had no knowledge whatsoever of the wine or beer selections, and I had to ask twice for a beer I ordered because the waitress forgot to put the order in the first time. The food didn't make up for how completely awful the service was. It wasn't bad but it was nothing to write home about- in my opinion the menu is a little overpriced. We were comped tiramisu in place of a small birthday sundae and that was quite delicious. read more
