I have now been to this shop seven times in about the last 30 years with four different cars, a Honda Civic, Mitsubishi Elipse, Jaguar XKR and Jaguar E pace. My son hit the back of truck. I was in need of a new bumper. Insurance sent me here to Benz auto body shop where they did a horrible job not only did they make the problem worse but they also mess around with my sensors therefore I can't hear when somebody is behind my truck which can cause a serious accident. I foolishly hit the side of my car against a metal pole and was worried to take it to a shop given how extensive the repair would be. I eventually decided to shop around in Redwood City at the many auto body shops along industrial way. The first few shops I went to were talking about huge repairs that would take weeks and cost a ton. After taking it to Benz Auto Body, they said they could fix it in a week and wouldn't need to replace my door (as others were saying). I went through Geico insurance and left the car with them. Literally 7 days later (the originally quoted me 10 days), I get a call that my car is done. They did an absolutely beautiful job. As seen in the pictures. Not only that, they buffed out a few extra scratches and aligned my tires free of charge. 10000% recommend these guys. Super nice, professional, and trustworthy. I went to Benz for a quote based on the high reviews on Yelp. On-site, they were most helpful, attentive and seemed knowledgeable & experienced. Promised a quote later the day (which was never received-but things happen). I then called & left messages twice, plus I sent 2 emails to the estimator-zero response. 3-4 days later I received a call from an employee from one of my voice messages. He was very professional and was put in the very uncomfortable position of telling me, on hearing my complaint re the lack of follow up, the estimator was in fact the Owner. I then received the estimate which was many hundreds of dollars higher than other estimates. By then of course I had moved on. The good news I found the most wonderful body shop close to home which I was not aware of. read more

Sam at Benz Auto Body is one of those great small family businesses. Personal attention to your repair needs, arrangements with insurance and car rental, and good quality work were the hallmarks of my visit with this shop. I noticed one small piece of my car's body side molding was missing. Upon review it appeared someone had hit that spot, yet once again, from either backing out or pulling in at an angle. This time around whoever hit me left with more scrapes and ran off with the side molding piece. Enter Benz Auto Body. Found them on Yelp and compared them to another nearby European car body shop. I found myself more comfortable with what people said about Benz Auto Body than the other shop, so I went for it. Called my insurance and named them as my shop of choice. The estimate from Benz was reasonable they said. They approved and I got the process going. Sam chatted with me a while about the damage, though relatively small. He made me feel that my business was valuable, and of course, it is to me. I think that difference is what separates a really good business from a regular business. Many businesses speak of that, but do they really do it? Sam also listened to my concerns and we even got chatting about other things. It was a sincere and natural way to get to know the person working on an asset that I've put tens of thousands of dollars into. The car rental came to pick me up promptly, and offered a black newish (not to be confused with black Jewish like Lenny Kravitz) Mercedes-Benz C300. They whisked me away to pick up the car and rinsed the exterior for me upon request. I was shortly enjoying the improved ride, comfort and handling of the new C class. Happy camper. Upon speaking to Sam a few days later he mentioned he needed one more day to finish the work, because they have so much work to do is my guess. He requested one more day of coverage for the car rental and insurance approved. Happy camper again. Went to pick up my car and Sam appeared in even better spirits than when I first met him. He gladly revealed the final product for my review. I examined the repaired area carefully and it looked like it came from the factory. The paint matched flawlessly. The complex contours of the body panel were reproduced flawlessly. The gloss coat matched the rest of the panel. My car has a complex gloss coat of 3-5 layers I am told. (See photos) I couldn't find anything to object to, other than very small amounts of some kind of residue, which washed off with a car wash. We chatted a bit more, this time things about marriage, what to look for in a wife, etc. All good stuff. Guy stuff. Some things don't change. Thanked Sam and said goodbye to the nice rental. Nice to be back in the pilot's seat of my car. All in all a happy, quality experience, and I would recommend Benz Auto Body readily. read more

I came in to see Sam after reading all these great reviews. My Mercedes-Benz needed a new grille after someone backed into me and didn't leave a note. It was a horrible day. I was hit and run and smashed into the barrier on 101N. Literally this was my first accident and I had no idea what to do. It was Saturday, and I called several numbers nobody picked it up. When they picked up the phone they said come back Monday. I was feeling nervous and helpless, and Sam picked it up. He said to bring the car over, and I will take a look it ( It was after hours). My fate was to meet with Sam and drive into his shop :) I went to his shop he looked at the car and told me not to drive. After that moment everything was simple. I went back there Monday we got an estimate. I called the insurance, got a rental car. They pick me up from Sam's shop. A few days later I went back to his shop to pick up the car. It was unbelievable. It literally looked better than before. I jumped into the car drove around. It was driving better. One thing I just want to mention, it is very helpful for somebody who never been any accidents before to be guided. You can see that he cares about his customer and business. He is trying his best.
