I had a reservation and visited on June 13th with a friend. From the moment we walked in, we felt unwelcome. The staff looked us up and down and immediately told us there was a problem because the kitchen was not working and no food could be prepared. We noticed that coffee and pastries were still being served, so we asked if we could at least order those. The answer was yes, but no one offered to seat us or explain the situation further. We ordered coffee and a spinach feta pastry, which was served cold and tasted stale. Considering we were charged $12 per pastry, the quality was extremely disappointing. The most frustrating part was what happened next. About 10 minutes after we sat outside, another family was seated nearby and was served food from the kitchen without any issue. If the kitchen had become operational again, no one informed us or asked whether we would like to order anything else. Instead, staff repeatedly came to our table with the bill, even bringing the wrong bill the first time, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. The café was nearly empty, yet we received some of the poorest service I've experienced in New York or New Jersey. I still don't understand why we were treated differently, but the combination of poor communication, unfriendly service, and overpriced food made for a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I would not return and would not recommend this café to others. read more

The Ridgewood Station Cafe is strategically located within the heart of the business district and even has a corner location. The tables are comfortably separated and the decor is appealing. I was hoping for a memorable visit, but it came up short. My Spanish Latte did not have any remnants of condensed milk and the Dirty Chai was on the luke warm side. Aside from waiting one+ hour for the food to be presented, I did not expect the following: The Western Omelet was not flavorful, the ingredients were sparse, and it had a hardened outter coating. The Ridgewood Pancakes were very small, but the amount of fruit was appreciated, and the cheeseburger's side salad did not come with any dressing. The side of Truffle Fries were throughly enjoyed, each fry was pleasantly oily, had a pleasant crunch, and were well seasoned. I will definitely revisit Ridgewood Station Cafe and I'm certain that they will come through with flying colors. read more

While searching for a brunch place, came across this restaurant in Ridgewood. It is right next to the train station, so there's a beautiful view from the massive glass window, feels wonderful to sit by the tables near the windows. The restaurant is gorgeous inside as well, with beautiful natural lights and modern furnishing. Within the restaurant they also have a bakery section where they sell pastries, bakery goods and coffee/teas. The menu has plenty of Mediterranean style brunch dishes. During my multiple visits, I got to try several different dishes. The crab cake benedict was my favorite, beautiful dish and equally tasty. Was little disappointed with shakshouka as it lacked some flavor, and overwhelmed with the egg. Eggplant parmigiano was solid. Pancake and mac & cheese both were for my daughter from kid's menu, and loved them both. Pancake was soft and fluffy with lots of fruits and whip cream on it. Mac & cheese was soft creamy. The service was nice both times. Our dishes came out within short time during both visits. All staff members were friendly. On nice sunny bright days, this is an excellent spot to dine in with some delightful view. read more

Nice brunch spot at downtown Ridgewood. It's right by the train station, hence the name of the restaurant. The staff are nice and friendly. We were seated right away. I got crab cake egg benedict and Turkish tea. We also had kids mac&cheese, eggplant parmigino and Shakshouka. Egg Benedict is great, the running yolk right on the point. Crabcake is good portion and flavor. Turkish tea is pretty good (he forgot the tea, I had it to go at the end). Mac&cheese is definitely very very cheesy. eggplant parmigino has good flavor and soft. Good seating indoor and outdoor. Spacious and clean. Bathroom is clean. It's a good place for relaxing brunch or for small gathering. read more

This is something new which I was not aware of that. It was a Turkish style menu and Turkish coffee the place it's right on the corner when you get off the train if you're looking for something quick, this is not the place for you. We went on a Sunday as there was two parties that were finishing that were 4 to 5 people you had a couple and another set of girlfriends sitting in this restaurant so basically what I'm telling you is that the restaurant wasn't as busy as far as the waiter and the waitress. They seem like they didn't know what they were doing. The gentlemen took our order and our order wasn't even that much never came to the table to check on us or tell us that the food is coming so the service needs a little bit of improvement. As well as the kitchen, maybe there is a communication barrier They also have pastries that are Turkish and it looks like Greek as well. It was like a vibrant atmosphere as far as it being so clear to sit there. You also had an option to sit outside, but unfortunately that day it rained so we do not sit outside and the service is why I gave it to Stars that I did. I also didn't understand why there was bread given to the tzatziki sauce. They did not have hummus and the waiter didn't know and came back and was like would you like tzatziki that's fine and it was like two pieces of sourdough bread then I asked for more bread thinking that they were going to bring out a pita is so happened that it was just four pieces of Wonder bread toasted it ruined the whole vibe for me because if I'm supposed to be at a Mediterranean restaurant and I'm having tzatziki hummus. What have you the best way to have that is with pita bread! So between the service and the bread, that's what brought my three stars. The food was good and fresh though. read more

Stopped by after seeing their new Biscoff latte all over social media and it did not disappoint! The latte was perfectly made: smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet, which I actually appreciated. I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more drinks and check out their food menu. The baked goods on display looked super tempting too. Service was top-notch. The gentleman who helped me was really friendly and made the experience feel warm and welcoming. It's a bit confusing at first. There's a counter with a person manning it with deserts and a drink menu but when I tried to order, was told to have a seat with waiter service. Ok, fine. Now there were perhaps three tables max of customers and a rather large staff mulling around, not sure what any of them were actually doing. There was an obnoxious woman seated upfront yapping LOUDLY and seemed to be related to the owner or manager. She never left and kept barking, I mean speaking. The music was as confusing, a mix of French and Turkish music, as that wall color choice and cheap outdated artwork on the walls. Now this place is huge in a prime location, such a pity. Funny thing as I placed my menu on the table, the guy who appeared to be the owner approached, took the menu and gave it to another customer. Odd, just like this place. I was going to order lunch but the gentleman next to me was not pleased at all with his and promptly returned it while mumbling for the next 10 minutes. Passed this place many times and finally decided to visit for lunch. I ordered a Greek salad with steak which was $30. The steak was very chewy and overall not great. Salad was medium size. Not what you would think $30 for a lunch salad would taste or look like. Very underwhelming. My sister ordered their steak and eggs and was really excited to try this but we both had the same steak that was pretty low quality. Very bland steak. The egg was also very bland. The steak and eggs on the menu said it was served with fries which is what my sister was expecting but ended up with sliced potato's? Her dish was also $30. It was overall a pretty disappointing meal. The seating though is comfortable and ambiance is great. Just really wish the food was better. Service is subpar as well. read more

Personally find all the baked goods - savory and sweet - to be as good and authentic as what I've had in Turkey and Greece in small shops. Service staff couldn't be better and beautiful clean space. I swung by this place after lunch with some friends . It looked like a cute trendy spot so we decided to give it a try and it was absolutely wonderful ! They serve coffee, tea, and desserts mostly . We got Turkish coffee and Egyptian chamomile tea . We also had the blueberry cake which was unique and delicious . We also had the Dubai pudding ( chocolate pudding with pistachios) which was absolutely delicious ! The baklava was great too , the staff is very friendly and answered all our questions . It was refreshing to know that all of their desserts are made in house so you get what you pay for !You order upfront with the option of to go or for here and then you can choose to sit at any open tables . I paid $50 for a latte that was half full and mostly milk..2 small pieces of cake (squares) and 2 small pinwheels that were supposed to be spinach and cheese but were literally just the flaky Filo dough. I had no idea service could be this bad. 5 of us went here for brunch, they took 25 minutes to actually take our order. They never brought any of us our drinks or even a glass of water while being seated for over an hour.. and when the food finally did come out, only 3/5 of the dishes came out within a 10 minute timeframe and they didn't even give us silverware either lol I don't know if they strictly hire their own family members or what here but Jesus Christ, you need to hire people who know what they're doing and how a restaurant operates. Let me break it down for you: 1) Patrons sit down at a table 2) You actually acknowledge them and take their order 3) They order food and drinks 4) You bring the food and drinks to them 5) Those Patrons pay the bill You guys somehow forgot steps 2, 3, and 4, and didn't even get to 5 because we got so angry we left There's a million other options in town that are better. Ambiance: cozy and nice. It looks like a lot of love, money and thought went into the ambiance. Service: The waiter was nice and attentive. Food: The french fries were amazing and crispy but everything else sucked. It was not cheap either. The bill came out to around $70ish with tip for pancakes, an omelette, 2 regular coffees and a kid's pancake meal. The pancakes were so bland even with Nutella and fruit on it. We only went here because Turning Point was closed for the day. It was $17 for the pancakes. The scrambled eggs tasted fine but did not look good at all. They were grey and all chopped up. The coffee which was a Colombian roast tasted like watered down Keurig coffee which for a cafe, I would expect decent coffee. Genuine tips because I want a cute place like this to succeed: Maybe add some sugar, butter and vanilla extract to the pancake batter. Google AI said adding malted milk powder can make pancakes taste richer. It was very apparent that this business has spent money on their branding from the branded napkins to the paper bags. No one cares about branded paper bags or napkins. Spend more money on the quality of the food, lower your prices and get better coffee. I use Illy at home when I want to spend the $$$ but I also like Folger's classic and prefer McDonald's or 7 Eleven coffee over Starbucks so I am not a coffee snob by any means. The coffee was around $4 each and we were not offered refills (not that we would have wanted them anyway but I also have no idea if the daily brew is bottomless). read more

1) only one server that spoke english 2) menu says they offer gluten free buns. I ordered a "Turkish" bagel which was $3.99 on the menu. It came plain and dry. I asked for jelly or creme cheese to put on it. They brought some creme cheese to the table. When I got the bill they had charged me $6.95 for a "Sumit Sandwich",I was told because I had asked for the creme cheese on the side. They also charged me $.50 for the creme cheese.
