I had a very disappointing experience with the Harley-Davidson dealership in Maywood, NJ (Bergen County location). I was told my bike would be completed the same day as my service appointment. I dropped the bike off around 10:10 AM and was informed it would take about 4-5 hours, and that my bike was second in line for service. After receiving no updates all day, I called myself at 4:37pm less than half hour before getting out of work. Over 6 hours later I asked for Chris my service consultant who told me they had just started working on my bike. I said to Chris that I completely understand delays can happen, but the lack of communication was unacceptable, especially after I clearly explained in the morning that I would be at work and instead of apologizing he says I can tell the mechanic to stop working on your bike. When I asked when they planned on notifying me that the bike wouldn't be done that day, I was told they would have called around 6:00-6:30 PM. That is extremely poor customer service. A courtesy call when service is running significantly behind schedule should be common sense. I live far from Rochelle Park and had to spend over $75 on an Uber ride home. What made the experience worse was when I returned the next day to pick up my bike and respectfully explained my frustration. Lisa completely dismissed my concerns and told me, "This dealership isn't for you, you should go to one closer to your house." While I was trying to explain how the situation could have been handled better, she repeatedly interrupted me and had clearly already decided they did nothing wrong. Lisa kept saying we didn't do anything wrong by you. I can see the frustration in her face and she treated me as if I'm a child. I mean not being respectful towards someone else's schedule and not giving a courtesy call so the customer can plan how to get back home is doing wrong by the client. I had to get an uber to work the next day. I spent close to $200 on their communication mistake and yet she couldn't even hear me out. I wasn't asking for any sort of compensation only wanted her to acknowledge what happened was wrong so they can do better. Delays happen, I understand that. But poor communication, lack of accountability, and dismissive treatment toward customers is not acceptable. If you bring your bike here, don't expect proactive updates or much concern for your time. read more

I took my 2017 V-ROD yesterday for an oil change. today, out of curiosity, I checked the oil stick and it's bone dry. I started the engine for 5 mins. and checked again... same, the oil stick is bone dry. I had to add a quart and a half to get it to normal. Shame on you HD of Bergen County. I paid $198.06. I will never step a foot in this scam place again! read more

I have NEVER voluntarily written a review. Usually I am asked tp provide a review and then sent a hundred reminders until I do so. If you're in the market for a new or used Harley, do yourself a favor and don't waste your time, go to Bergen County Harley-Davidson. The shop is amazing. The staff is even more amazing and the process is so simple with the good folks at this store. You will wonder, why other businesses don't adopt this motto. Let me begin with the minute you walk in the door, you 're immediately greeted with a friendly smile and hello, unlike other places where you're immediately bombarded with a pushy salesperson. When you're ready you can ask for a salesperson and if you're so lucky you may get to work with Sergio Graziano, who in my opinion is not just the salesperson, but he is a genuine, kind human. The thing that won me over and I can't stress this enough, he didn't push me to decide quickly. What he said instead, take your time and don't rush into a decision. He showed me a lot of options and didn't make me get the most expensive bike on the floor or try to convince me out of the bike I wanted to get "rid" of a bike that may have been sitting on the floor longer than they wanted. That was unusual coming from a salesperson!!! They have a financing and insurance departments in-house. The two LOVELY ladies (and 4 legged business partner, Oliver) I had the pleasure of working with, Lynda and Barbara, were phenomenal at what they do. They went out of their way to help me get all my dollars and cents in order. They were not aggressive or pushy; they didn't try to stick me with something or give me the usual "this is the best I can do" non-sense. Instead they told me, give me a minute, I think I can do better. Again, very unusual coming from a dealership. I went into the finance office with my defenses up and ready for a long, lengthy back-and-forth, it was anything but that. I walked into the shop at 11am and I was done by 12:30 with all paperwork completed. Now my favorite part of the whole thing, shopping for gear. The beautiful (and I do mean BEAUTIFUL) ladies in the merch sales department were beyond helpful. Once again, they never tried to upsell me or give me the "oh you look good in that" BS just to make a sale. Laura went out of her way to help me save money on my gear. She didn't force me to buy things I didn't need or want. She made me comfortable by letting me browse and shop at my leisure. The ladies are so informative, as if they ride themselves... oh wait, they do! The shop didn't just hire beautiful women to try to make guys spend money on things they didn't need. Instead, they hired beautiful women with experience and knowledge. What a novel concept. Mike and Lisa in the parts and service department were so friendly and not like what people expect from "mechanics" and I hate giving them a title because it has such a negative connotation but these folks stood and answered my dumb questions and didn't judge or talk down to me. Overall, I wish I could give them 100 stars because they absolutely deserve it. Again, if you need/want a new or used bike, go to Bergen County Harley-Davidson, even if you don't need a bike, go there and experience the shop and see how a real business is ran! read more

Within minutes of selling my Blvd. M50, I realized I'd made a big mistake. I wasn't ready to stop riding. The problem was, what do I buy. I decided on a pre-owned Indian Scout 60, with ABS if possible. After talking to a few Indian dealers, I realized that buying a bike wasn't gonna be easy. There aren't any. After being on Cycle Trader for 3 weeks I got a notification that a Harley dealer in NJ had just got one in. I made arrangements to go see that bike. My buddy, John and I got to Bergen County Harley and were really impressed with the facility. The place is huge, well laid out and everyone we spoke to was really friendly. Rosko the rep, I'd spoken to on the phone greeted us and was really great......even though I wasn't buying a Harley. He answered all of my questions and went over the sales process. I was told an incredible short story about Liz, the owner, by a friend of mine and decided Bergen Harley was going to be the one and only spot for my Harley Purchase. When I was there they truly made me feel like home... Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. They answered every question I had. I ran into a little hump when I brought my bike in to be serviced for the first time... Phil, Liz's son got on the phone with me for an hour! & made sure I was completely satisfied and happy at the end of the day. When you call a business and go on their website, and they state that they open at 9 for service. Then you show up at 8:45, stand around as you see employees and managers stroll in. You say good morning to them. 9 am comes, and passes, noone cares enough to come out and even ask you why you're there, or notify you of any changes in their business hours. Our client gave me a fax # to send I.D. cards to the dealership for his new motorcycle which he is picking up first thing tomorrow morning. The fax failed so I looked at their Web Site to confirm. No fax number listed. It seemed like the proper thing to do so I called the dealership and identified myself and our mutual client: "Sales dept." the person answering the phone did not identify them self, totally unprofessional. "I'm trying to fax over I.D. cards for a mutual client and it is not going through. I'd like to confirm your fax number." "I don't know it." "Can you get it for me? So I can get you the cards and our client can pick up his bike?" "I don't know who would have it." I was transferred and got voicemail. I called back four times. Same scenario. Not one person identified them self when they answered the phone. I actually begged and pleaded with the last sales associate who finally said. "I'm busy, gotta go." My review is for service only I wanted to schedule an appointment to bring my '03 heritage soft tail classic in for new tires and an oil change. I was told that I had to meet with a service adviser before they would take the bike and that they didn't have time in the few weeks. That parts for an '03 were no longer made and that it might be hard to get them. I told them all I needed was new tires and an oil change. They said they wanted to look at my bearings, which I said I was fine and just needed a tire change. They suggested I bring it elsewhere and gave me the name of an independent shop. I brought my bike to the independent and had it out within 3 days. REALLY? Turning away work? Suffice to say I won't be returning to Bergen any time soon (even though I had my bike serviced there since I bought it there in '03). Ridiculous. The people were nice so this is no reflection of the people who are helpful but I just felt that turning away business....well not good business practice. read more

Just spent $1,200 for rear brake pads. (Don't really feel a difference) They said the bracket for one of the bags broke and the key fob light on the dash stays on I would give zero stars if I could but I can't. I have repeatedly tried to get a key fob light on the dash taken care of and yes, I just changed the battery a few weeks ago. Got the 2007 road king from them at 12k miles for so you'd think they would have given it a thorough once over so I wouldn't have to pay close to $500 the 20k service. The head pipe cracked so I had to dish out for that. When they put the LED head light in, the nacelle doesn't completely close. I asked to check the noise on the front brake but it's still there. I know car dealers suck and I have read about the stories of Harley dealerships but damn! I expect them to be expensive but at least fix what I am paying you top dollar to fix. You would think they want a first time customer to be a return customer. Not happening. They will of course read this post and reply, "OH we are so sorry, Yada Yada. Yada..." I can't even go on any long distance trips because I don't trust the bike to get there or get me home. Found a local wrench to give my money to. If I ever buy another Harley, it will not be from them. Might take the trek to Garden State Harley the next time. Fuq. read more

First and foremost, ask for Rosco or Glenn. I'm sure the rest of the staff is great but; a bird in the bush.... I went to get a bike, I wasn't sure about which, and was torn between a dyno and a softtail. After about an hour of explaining and showing me all he's got, Rosco helped fill in the blanks. He was also extremely nice and serviceable. And even asking for a separate opinion, Glenn kicked in and sealed the deal. Buying this bike was such a pleasure. What's up Harley riders. If Bergen County harley was the last Harley dealership that existed I was start to ride a Moped. I bought a 2019 CVO Street glide and the transmission went three times. All three times I bought a Harley and they cannot resolve the issue. Now I know things happen but when you bring your bike to a Harley certified dealer they should be able to fix the issue. I put a 23 inch fat tire on my bike now Bergen County Harley is telling me they can't work on my bike because It won't fit on there lift. Like I am the only person who changed out the front tire. while 3 other Harley dealership said bring your bike in. I now take my bike to MotorHead In stony point New York these guys are awesome and they are Harley Certified and they know what there doing. He took apart my transmission and said that Harley left out a spring in my primary which caused my transmission to snap in to20 pieces. I'm really more annoyed at Bergen County Harley for the way the handled everything. They just pushed me off after I bought 2 bikes from them in 1 year. I'm done with them and if I can give you some advice please don't by a bike from them. Sales department is good but the service department is the absolute worst. read more

I have bought two bikes from Bergen and always had a decent experience with them. I walked in today looking to buy a few parts, full exhaust, stage 1 and mapping system. There was no one in the store, slow day and asked the guy behind the counter for some help. I told him what I was looking to purchase, including the brand. He was obviously annoyed that I disturbed his card game that he was playing behind the counter prior to me asking for help. Firstly, he took a somewhat condescending tone and told me there were many brands, what did I want. I said that I knew what I wanted and told him the brand type and model, he kept reiterating there were many options. I clearly told him the brand in a 4" diameter in black along with model and cut. I also needed a head pipe and needed some help there but we didn't even get to that given the fact he was not listening. He was clearly bothered that he had to look and became increasingly condescending at which point I said forget it, I will just buy it online. His response was ok, whatever. I am not a small guy and his attitude would have certainly received a different reaction had I not been in the store with my kid. Here is a classic example of an employee screwing up a perfect good opportunity for the company to make money. I have purchased 2 bikes from them and had their service department complete a tons of work for me. I never had an issue with service or sales except for this guy. This is now the second time that I had an issue with the same guy and I have had others tell me the same. This will likely have been my last trip there as there are other HD dealers that are close enough! read more

Walked into this dealership after visiting 6 others within a 2.5 hour drive. Amazing service, bought my Harley within an hour and a half of walking through the doors. I'm a turtle when it comes to large purchases and it just felt right. There was no drama in negotiating the price, and I paid exactly what I wanted. The showroom is huge with a lot of stuff to look at, both motorcycles and other merchandise. The prices weren't astronomical and I'll be heading back to buy a few items. The service department reps seemed to be extremely friendly and attentive and answered the (probably stupid) questions I asked in a professional manner. Service related. Decided to do a ride from Boston to Washington DC mothers day weekend. On the Garden State Parkway and my rear view mirror starts to swivel in circles. Looked for the nearest bike dealer and came here. Even though my bike is not a Harley, the service manager said to relax, have some coffee with a few local guys and he will have it fixed. 20 minutes later, warm from the coffee and trying to explain why I decided to do 400 miles in the rain and wind, they had my mirror set and I'm back on my way. Some time ago I completed the Rider's Edge program at this facility, and must say the experience was outstanding. Finally got my Harley and needed a copy of my certification to obtain some discounts with my insurance company. I try contact the Program Manager and after a couple of emails explaining my situation this person decided to simply ignore me. Not sure why or how much of a hassle is to make a copy of a certification or MSF card... but certainly the attitude was rude. read more

Excellent place. They are very polished and professional salespeople. I dealt with Don but the main negotiation was with Phil Jr. who is very good at sales (I mean that as a compliment). He clearly has taken sales courses and read many sales books because he creates value and forces you to use your emotional brain to make decisions. I realized I was being sold, but it didn't matter. I got a great bike (2014 road king) at a good price and he delivered the bike the next day with all the accessories installed. The reason for 4 stars (instead of 5) is the service department. They make promises that they don't keep about when the job will be done. This has happened several times. Overall, they're the best Harley dealer around, and I highly recommend. read more

The worst costumer service ever. I ordered a Seat and I was told it will take 1-2 weeks due to covid. It's been 29 days and seat never arrived. I called multiple times to follow up and the only response they know is Covid and they don't know where the seat is. Not even a tracking number or status. I went to the store to figurate a solution, but didn't work. They were offering me to re-order the seat whick it takes 2 to 3 weeks again for covid, basically the summer Ends and a I never got the seat. I ordered the seat from a diferent Harley store and got it in 2 days with a overnight shipping. Go online for parts, these people are unprofessional and careless. read more

Went for a Test ride for a New 2015 Harley V-Rod Muscle and the experience was positive with no issues. "Justin" the sales rep, kept in touch with me considering I been in there many time pondering the purchase, and once the weather was better, a simple call back, and the ride was set up and ready to go. I live close to Bergen County Harley, and this would be my "5th" bike from here, first was a 91 Sportster, then a 99 Road King, two Buell Firebolts, and last one was a BMW-S1000RR. so hopefully, if the numbers work out right, and I'm done with my V-Rod Research, mindful, that I'm not married to this V-Rod yet, and in a way hope that BC Harley still carried BMW's, hopefully a good reasonable deal can be reached, once I make up my mind, and test ride other manufacturers. I was approached by this lovely merchandise associate named Jessica who helped me pick out and get fitted for a helmet. The experience was very good.
