Bergen Spa seems like a dressed up version of a typical Chinese massage place, which is no frills and cheap but usually offer quality massages. The front desk staff and masseuses are friendly and polite and it's easy to walk in or make a last minute appointment. I've come to Bergen Spa for foot rubs several times and found it relaxing. But the 1 hour massage I had here recently was the opposite. I've had alot of spa and Chinatown tui na massages, and I've never had anyone wear latex gloves! I asked a few times to use less lotion and it didn't seem like she did. Then I noticed, more than half way through, she was wearing latex gloves, which was why the lotion wasn't absorbing as well and made the whole experience just feel uncomfortable and slippery, for lack of a better word. I took my sister here for a massage today. We got the 30 min reflexology with 30 min back massage. The cost was good at 45 bucks. The service was so so nice and chilled. I told Sandy the manager that I have an injured shoulder and she made sure I wasn't in any pain during the back massage. I plan to go monthly for the same thing I hope they do loyalty cards for regular guests. It's very clean and new. Has a warm vibe. Loved it. read more

I've been here twice and both times were amazing!! The facility is super clean, beautiful, private and relaxing. This is the type of place I would have expected to pay much more than $45 for one hour. I really like that they also give your legs a lot of attention, since I work on my feet and my legs get very sore. They also used hot stones and give you a scalp massage at the end!! I have never written a review on Yelp but I needed to give Bergen Spa credit for the best massage of my life. I've been several times for foot and full body massages and every experience has been consistently very positive. But I recently had a massage with Tony and was absolutely floored by his ability to find the problem areas on my back and apply the perfect amount of pressure to ease the pain. He consistently checked in to ensure that the pressure was bearable as he worked on knots and tight muscles. He was a magician. So clean! Was greeted and quickly whisked off to my massage room after making no appointment. Wendy took care of me for what seemed like a lifetime. I'm sure she went over one hour. I don't review often but I have to say this might be my new favorite place. I love deep tissue massages and if you're looking for one this place is it. I had Mary today and she was amazing. I'm always tight and super knotted up and she worked her magic. I'm usually fine with deep pressure on my shoulders, neck and back but I can't tolerate it on my legs. Mary somehow was able to get to the areas that were sore and with deep pressure without me feeling like I was getting beat up like I usually do at most places. All I can say is wow! The massages felt tailored to your body. Most places have specific types of massages on their menu, and you only get the one type you choose. This felt like you get a variety of techniques based on where your muscles are tense and need it most. We did a couple's massage including foot massage at the end, all for 90 minutes.
