I love supporting small businesses. And this one especially. I love that grandma works there. I love the sons infectious genuinely happy attitude and pride in his business. And yet, he is very humble in the same breath. You just dont meet people like this very often. His experience allows him to read people very well as he helps guide new customers through his menu to ensure matching your particular taste to the menu selections. I tasted the bisque. And it was all I needed to confirm I needed a whole bowl. Reluctantly, I did split it with my daughter. She thought it was fantastic as well. My tuna melt was very good. No complaints here and was just what I wanted. My daughter had the turkey avocado and she enjoyed that as well. And I can now say I've had Armenian bread. Tried Berge's for the first time on Friday. Went back Saturday. That's how amazing this place is. The sandwiches here definitely have a home-made feel and are always freshly made. I had the BLTA (bacon lettuce tomato avocado) and the turkey & avocado sandwich. Both were off the chizzain. If you're a carb fanatic like I am, you'll love how they grill the sourdough bread.. it's fantastic. The best part is the service! The owner/manager fellow is so friendly and he remembered me! No-frills sandwich menu and a totally dated interior make for a charming, very old-school dining experience. I've been coming to Berge's since I was a little girl. I absolutely love their food and the employees are absolutely amazing. They truly care about their customers and their sandwiches show that. They now take credit cards, which is a huge plus, as I didn't go here for a few years because they only took cash up until recently. My family has owned a chain of Subway shops for my whole life & I've never heard or seen anything like that before. It wasn't about picking up the napkin, which I did, it was the rudeness.
