I am from out of town and brought my Volvo XC70 there for AC service when my AC died in the first hour of a 6-hour road trip from eastern NC to Roanoke in June 2024. I had already done 5 hours without AC, and I was looking at 6 more until I would be able to get back to eastern NC where I was staying for a longer time. They could have easily denied me service because they were all booked up, but they graciously scheduled me right away and fixed my AC in less than two days. Called parts department for a roof rack cap cover part number 8620541. Quoted $33. Volvo of Charlottesville said retail was $15.37 for same part. Told the Berglund parts rep that and he said that $33 was their price. So double retail price? I ordered from Volvo of Charlottesville and even with shipping saved $10. I bought a brand new 2022 Volvo March 2022. Carol sold it to me for over $60,000.00 I had it less than 24 hours before it broke down. I have since learned that it was not ready to sell. While being transported the fluids are taken down low and are supposed to be refilled prior to selling. Knowing this, Berglund sold it to me anyway. I lost 28,000. Of my equity from my trade in with one signature. The dealership was also aware that I had to drive the vehicle 5 hours back to my hometown without the proper fluids in the car. I had to trade the non working vehicle in and lost all of my equity. DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!!! BIG MISTAKE!!!! read more

I just always have a good time when I go there. I have bought a few cars there and my sales person Tina always remembers me, and is genuinely happy to see me. The managers are around and involved rather than dark shapes in dimly lit rooms that customers can't engage with. My last choice was a certified Volvo and it is such a good car for me. Excellent folks at this service center. I was in Roanoke for the weekend and unfortunately needed some quick assistance servicing my car. I called in advance hoping they were open, arrived just after closing but the guy i had spoke to hung around to help. Ended up i left my registration at their center before returning to northern virginia. Without my asking they mailed it back to me. Seems like a small gesture but i really didn't expect it and think most places wouldn't have taken the time as there was no money in it for them. All around good people there. read more

The worst. You expect a dealership to be expensive, but also to have good customer services. Had to call three times just to get an appointment. Left the car there for two days, finally called to find out status. No response. Called the next day. Told the car would be ready the next day. Called. No response. Called again. Another day, they would call. Never called. called again. Car was ready. Picked up car. No thanks, no politeness. Claimed not to find an evident problem I will have to fix elsewhere. Promised to do safety check and did not. Outrageous price, no estimate was offered. Called to complain. Never called back. Had to ask for manager on third call. Finally got him, he did not apologize or offer anything. Avoid if you can. read more

Read carefully--I grew up around Berglund motors my entire life; however, once beyond the doors of a sale, this organization as zero accountability for timely customer service. Note: I'm an out-of-state buyer (my entire family lives in the Roanoke area, but I live and work in Washington, DC). Summary: Problem 1: Confirmed purchase 12/29/2015, but took 4 hours to complete financing on 12/31/2015 Problem 2: 3% charge for making a down payment with a check/Debit card. Problem 3: Still do not have a title, registration, or license plates (60 days purchase!) Problem 4: Owner's manual never provided (60 days after purchase!) I purchased a 2014 QX70 (new) 12/31/2015 after a test-drive 12/26-12/27/2015. Though I agreed to purchase the car 12/29 and it was "ready to go" on 12/31, Berglund luxury only had one financial adviser to complete purchases and what I was told would take an hour, took nearly 4 hours and we were not alerted of 3% surcharges for any non-paper payment, i.e. check/Debit or credit card until last 10 minutes of deal. After the deal, I wasn't able to locate the owner's manual for the car and was told by sales manager and salesman that one would be mailed -- to date (3/1/16) I still haven't received an owner's manual. As of 01/28/2016, the temporary VA tags from Berglund expired. As of 02/02/2016 (32 days later), Tina reached out via phone/email to communicate that their contractor for tags and registration would not process my tags or registration for DC without a DC safety/emission inspection, even though DC DMV states, "New personal vehicles that have a manufacturer's Certificate of Origin do not need to be inspected" (http://dmv.dc.gov/node/1118951). This forced inspection required me to get a 2-year DC inspection, while new personal vehicles in DC are granted a 4-year inspection certification--this deviation from DC DMV recommendations forfeited 2-years of inspection certification for a new car. An additional temporary 30-day tag was provided via FedEx, 2/3/2016. As of 02/18/2016 (48 days after purchase), Mark reached via phone to communicate that my tags and registration still had not been processed because I had not completed a DC Power of Attorney form. This form was shipped via FedEx (overnight), signed and returned 02/19/2016--never mind that this could have been emailed, scanned and returned for free and taken 10 minutes versus 48 hours plus shipping, which indicates the level of pure stupidity and senselessness of Berglund's customer service. As of 03/01/2016, still have not received any form of title, registration, or license plates (not to mention an owner's manual) and my second set of Dealer-provided temporary tags expire in two days (03/03/2016). If you want to buy a great car at the expense of your own humanity and time--sure, go purchase a car from Berglund Luxury. But, if you value yourself, your time, and where you invest your money--don't pull into any of the car lots with a Berglund sign because this could happen to you. read more

Tuesday, June 24th - My Employer, My Company, And I were all really jerked around by this dealership. My employers car was brought to Mercedes by a separate mechanic whom was unable to solve the underlying issue, so we agreed to let it be fixed at the dealership. First, when we called to confirm the vehicle was ready - Kyle at the service station told us that it was, and confirmed that the car had been washed. Then, we get a call saying due to the mechanic shops outstanding invoice of $170 dollars, that we cannot pickup our vehicle - regardless of paying $1,800. When we communicated this with our CEO, he had to then get involved and then suddenly - we're able to pick up the car. I was tasked with driving the vehicle back to the office, which is standard procedure. When I received the car, I asked when it was washed due to the outside not looking fresh (Bird Feces was on the car), and the technician said it had just been washed - I let this slide because there's no sense in arguing. Next, the technician told me I needed to get gas because the light was on, so I head to the gas station. Keep in mind that is the only warning I receive from the staff. Next thing I know - I'm driving along and the passenger seat slams into the dashboard. Talk about being terrified. So, when I get to the gas station, I'm inspecting what happened and why it happened. THE SEAT WASN'T BOLTED TO THE GROUND. When we called Mercedes, they said that's how they received it from the other mechanic shop. I'm no expert, but I'm certain if we're paying nearly $2,000 for services - they could've bolted the seat down or at least warned me as this is a safety hazard. The tire pressure light was also on, leading me to believe that Mercedes does not care about their customer's safety, nor their satisfaction. It's an easy fix that hardly takes anytime once the car is already in the shop but now, we'll have to take the car to yet another mechanic and wait for them to be available. In short, we did not receive the service we expected - especially for the price we paid. I'm disappointed by not only the service team, but also management for allowing this kind of neglect. We will not be returning to this dealership unless there are major changes made. read more
